Edward Hopper Truro Station Coal Box 1930
William Merritt Chase Landscape, near Coney Island ca. 1886 I saw this today at the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, NY, along with a fascinating array of works by Hopper, Bellows, Picasso, Renoir, Rubens, Seurat, Eakins, Hassam, Sloan, Ansel Adams and a few I'd never heard of before, including Martin Lewis, Armin Landeck, Albert E. Flanagan, Frederick C. Frieseke, Stow Wengeroth and Abbott Handerson Thayer. I found this Chase painting especially interesting today since it is Clara Bow's birthday and she spent part of her youth in the Coney Island area.
