He had half a mind to pull his hood over and leave the stranger with this blasted statue without a response. ‘They don’t know how they can help’. The hunter had never heard such malarkey before. With how long he’s been praying for, the decade of begging and groveling at the feet of these worthless monuments, demanding something. Anything. And receiving only silence in return.
They knew. He knew they knew, but they left him to fester.
“... it doesn’t matter. It’s gone unanswered for two-thirds of my life, and it’ll surely stay that way for the rest of it.” Nails dragged against the smooth stone as he rose to a stand.
