With Kang Hyewon being herself, she is very clingy. Extra clingy with you. You aren't complaining though. You like having her present next to you, having her holding you, giving you little kisses here and there.
The girls always tease how you two act like a couple, how you two go on dates without them, how you two hold onto each other. Apart from their teasing, the girls ship you two together.
Hyewon is very famous for being "emotionless", but she's just so happy around you. Whenever she hears your name, her eyes brighten. She misses you all the time. One time, she woke up from a nap and realised you were gone without telling her, she kept looking for you in your dorm but only found out you went out to get her food.
On those little "friendly" dates, she likes to take you to her favourite restaurants. Although she likes to eat a lot, she never forgets to take pictures of you. The photos taken by her looked like those pictures couples take of each other. It's like you two are dating.
Hyewon compliments you a lot. Whenever she's taking pictures of you, she'll be like "Wah, Y/N, you look so pretty.", "You like this?", "So cute.".
Of course, you thought that was normal since you girls are close. You thought she just adores you as her dongsaeng.
You never get why she's all pouty when you are cuddled up with other members. But that didn't make you feel too good as well, so you stopped doing that after seeing her being all pouty.
Chaeyeon noticed that and decided to get the two of you together. And of course, with the help of the other members.
The promotion of Panorama finally ended. All of you finally got to rest for a little before another event.
Hyewon had decided to spend the whole day with you, which you won't say no to.
You were in bed with Hyewon, just next to each other, resting and cuddling a little.
"Y/N-ah."
Chaeyeon said with her phone in hand.
"Ne, unni?"
"Chaeryeong called."
"OH!" You immediately jumped out of bed to Chaeyeon, which you almost fell but luckily your unni caught you. Hyewon missed the warmth next to her already. She looked up to see Chaeyeon holding your waist with one hand while the other one is brushing your hair oh so softly. She let out a sign and had a little pout on her face. The dancer knew what she was doing, which she was also very proud.
Chaeryeong is one of your best friends as you two are the same age and went to the same school. You don't see each other too often due to busy schedules. Chaeyeon knew you would be very excited to see her sister.
"Y/N-ah! How are you? Are you doing okay? Taking care of yourself?"
You smiled at your best friend. "Yes, Chaeryeong-si. Have you been taking enough rest lately?"
She nodded.
"What about your unni? Aren't you worried about your unni?"
You smiled at how Chaeyeon reacted, adoring their sistership. As a single child, you never had a chance to experience that. But now you have twelve sisters living in the same house together.
As you and the Lee sisters are still on Facetime, Chaeyeon pulled you to sit back down on the bed you and Hyewon share.
"Oh, Hyewon unni! Hello!"
Chaeryeong greeted Hyewon while she just smiled at her. The younger sister would freak out if she knew what her sister was doing.
"Kwangbae-ah, move a little."
"Why?"
"There's not enough place for the three of us here."
"I don't want to."
"Well, fine."
The dancer pulled you on her lap, which made both you and Hyewon's eyes wide opened.
"Wah, unni. You scared me."
"Sorry, sorry."
"Unni, you're so touchy with my friend today."
That didn't go unheard with Hyewon. That was what she was thinking. With your friend's stating that out, you can't help but look at Hyewon, who is no surprise, pouting while looking at her switch.
You waited for the call to end and Chaeyeon left you two. She winked at you before leaving the room.
"Unni."
She pretended she didn't hear you.
"Hyewoniiiiii, Kwangbaeee, Kang-channn."
She couldn't help but smiled a little hearing you whined so cutely.
"What's wrong?" You asked with a pout after moving her switch away and throwing your hands around her neck. You were on her lap.
She looked up at you and shrugged, "It's nothing."
"You sure?"
She nodded.
"Well, Imma go find Chaeyeon unni then."
"Wait, don't go."
You smiled and turned back to her.
"Were you jealous, unni?" You decided to tease her a little with you oh so famous smirk.
"Yah, stop that." She looked away blushing.
She always gives you little kisses to help you relax, so you thought doing the same will do. But what you didn't know was she was moving her head to look at you when you leaned in.
With that, the two of you kissed. Both of you were very shocked but none of you wanted to move away. You two started to move in sync. Feeling each other in a way that you two have never been before, moving closer by pulling each other. You never knew her lips were that soft, and the feeling of her hands on your waist was so different. These feelings had grown to be your favourites.
You two pulled out breathing heavily.
"Woah."
She looked at you and laughed.
"You are so embarrassing."
"You love me though." Teasing her is your thing now.
"Well, yeah." With that, she pulled you into another kiss.
After another soft but sensual makeout section, you two ended up cuddling with one of her hands on your waist and the other one playing with your hair. It was perfect, this is like a dream.
"Y/N-ah."
You replied with a soft hum.
"I hope that I'll be the only one that gets to do this."
You knew what she meant, but you wanted to hear her say it.
"Do what?"
"You know what."
Everyone knows you bring out the best in her, and by that, they meant having her showing her emotions.
She let out a sign knowing you won't give up.
"To play with your hair, to hold you, to kiss you and... To love you. You bring out the best of me. I think I'm in love with you."
Love: Could I ask for a poly between Kang Hyewon, Jo Yuri, and idol reader? Where they all haven’t seen each other for months because of schedules and when they finally do Hyewon and Yuri all super soft for reader? Thanks!💕
A/n: Sorry it took a long time, love! My first poly, hope ya’ll like it and that it reached your expectations love! If not I could always change it just give me a holler, pouring out my emotions...4
You rested your head against the window, closing your eyes as relaxation hit your body, after three months of recording, practicing, and promoting, your group finally reached the end. Though you loved performing for the fans along with your members, it was a struggle because of the constant days where you all had to push past your limits.
But if the members had to choose, they would agree that you were much more tired than the rest of them, partnered with promoting, your group also had to practice for K-con which included a very intense dance break that you had to lead.
So it was nice, getting some sleep for a few minutes before you felt yourself being nudged, hearing your members’ voices calling you before you sat up, while rubbing your eyes making the members giggle at your cute antics before they informed you that they were already at your apartment.
You gathered your things, hugging them before you walked to your apartment. When you opened the door you dropped your bag beside the door, walking in with your eyes slightly drooping, planning to go crash onto your bed but your attention was captured when your eyes caught the bright note stuck to the wall.
Your slowly padded to the note, squinting your eyes as the handwriting became familiar to you,
We’re out for groceries. There’s food on the table, we’ll be back in a few!
A small smile made it to your face, walking to the kitchen and seeing the food on the table. You sat down, eating the food, your stomach happy that it was getting anything other than noodles or snack bars. After you ate, you cleaned up, taking a shower before watching TV. Wanting to wait for your girlfriends before you take a nap.
You missed them so much it made a certain bubble of excitement inside you that they were already home. For three months you only got to call them a few times, given they were idols too, they only had so much time that they could use to call you and even if they could there was no telling if you were in a shoot or practice because your groups schedules were a little ahead of theirs.
You took a blanket from your room, wrapping it around yourself as you cuddled in. Your face was the only thing visible as you turned on the TV to watch something, your body started to relax and sink into the couch. But a few minutes in the show your eyes started to feel heavy, the drowsiness from earlier was starting to come back for you.
But you forced yourself to wake, your eyes landing on the clock before you blinked, unknowingly falling asleep the moment you closed your eyes.
—
While you slept, two figures stopped at your door, keys jingling against the lock before the door opened. Both of them walked in with bags of food in their hands, shutting the door and when they were hanging up their coats they noticed that the TV was on.
“Did you leave the TV on again, babe?” Yuri asked while she looked at the other who shook her head, then Hyewon suddenly noticed the additional pair of shoes that was placed on the rack.
“Y/n’s home!” She said before running to the living room, Yuri followed close before they stopped, seeing you passed out on the couch. The blanket still wrapped around your body as faint snores came from your lips.
Both of them had to contain their squeals, finding the sight to be adorable, they took out their phones and took some pictures before they quietly left the room.
Going to the kitchen and storing away all the groceries before washing up, when they changed into more comfortable clothes, Yuri and Hyewon approached you on the couch. Deciding to wake you up since they know that sleeping on the couch isn’t the most comfortable thing in the world.
They kneeled in front of you, admiring your peaceful face before Yuri lifted her hand, stroking your cheek softly until you would wake.
You groaned in response, trying to shake her hand away which made them giggle. One that was loud enough to wake you partially, opening your eyes to see two figures in front of you smiling at your confused expression.
“Yuri, Hyewon?”
“Hey sleepy head, let’s get you to bed,” they said and you couldn’t protest, letting them wrap your arms around their shoulders, guiding you to the bed before you laid down. Both of them chose a side before pulling the blanket over your body, hands wrapped around your torso and placing a kiss on each of your cheek, whispering a short ‘I love you’ before Yuri and Hyewon followed you to dreamland.
—
When you woke hours later you tried to move your arms to stretch but you felt something restricting it. Opening your eyes, a smile bloomed on your face when you noticed the two sleeping figures by your side. Both had their faces buried in the crook of your neck while soft sighs fanned your skin.
You sighed, comfortable in your position before you leaned down, pressing a kiss to their foreheads.
You wiggled out a few minutes later, wanting to prepare some breakfast and eat together. You opened the fridge, grabbed some eggs and bacon before you started cooking, halfway done you felt arms wrapping around your shoulder and something heavy rested on your back.
You giggled, moving one hand to embrace the ones wrapped around your waist whilst you cooked with the other, “Good morning baby,” you greeted as Hyewon hummed from behind, pecking the back of your neck while she continued to rest her head on your back.
You let your girlfriend stay there until you were finished before asking her to wake up Yuri. Hyewon, who looked a little more awake, padded to your room to get the sleeping girl, both of them coming out of the room a few minutes later.
All three of you sat around the table, Yuri giving you a kiss on the cheek when you sat while you gave her a smile before you started eating. Sometimes in the middle anyone from the three of you would suddenly feed each other. No other words being exchanged other than the food on your plates. It was a silent meal but the air was less than awkward, it was relaxing, being in each others’ presence after a long time was like a breath of fresh air.
When you were done Yuri and Hyewon volunteered to wash while you prepared the living room, wanting to stay in for the day before the three of you made plans. Getting some pillows, blankets and choosing a movie before Yuri and Hyewon joined you.
You basically were in the middle every time, each getting showered by love and kisses every once and a while from either of them. They would agree that even if they saw each other everyday it wasn’t just the same if you were missing. Each time they called you they wanted to reach over and pull you through the screen, wanting to be close to you instead of seeing you through a screen.
So now that you were within their reach, they wouldn’t hesitate to show you all the love they could.
Yuri often played with your fingers while she clasped them in hers. While Hyewon rested her head on your shoulder and gave you frequent kisses and nuzzles your hair when she felt like it. You felt so many things that you wanted to explode, the butterflies swarming your stomach while the shivers crept in once and a while.
You turned your head and pecked each of their cheeks before ending it with one on their lips which they smiled at.
You wrapped your arms around them while you continued to watch. The comfortable silence made the mood more comfortable while all three of you spent the rest of the day cuddling and kissing, making sure that you received all the love that they wanted to give you for the past three months of not seeing you.
Prompt: can i request hyewon (iz*one) and the reader both having a crush on each other but they are both very awkward and shy so the other members try to help them get together 🥺 thanks! ~
Writer: Admin Kiwi
A/N: I haven’t been able to sleep recently because of my allergies, so this probably isn’t my best work. But I hope you guys enjoy this little scenario!
You weren’t proud of how shy you were when it came to Hyewon, but really, how could you not be shy? Hyewon was gorgeous, with piercing eyes and a haughty look but with a fun and awkward personality underneath. Most people had their breath taken away when they saw her, so you weren’t the only one. Plus, you were already awkward enough to begin with. Being in the presence of a beautiful woman who also happened to be funny and smart only made it worse. That was why you still hadn’t made a move, even after months of pining.
“It’s obvious that you guys like each other,” Chaeyeon said, sounding exasperated as she placed a plate of cut fruit down on the table and sat down across from you. As your best friend, she’d heard about your crush on Hyewon so many times she could almost predict what you were going to say. “We’ve been over this! I know she won’t turn you down.”
Picking up a strawberry, you laughed sheepishly. “I know, but I just can’t bring myself to ask her out. Every time I think about it I get all awkward and lightheaded and my heart starts pounding. I just know if I tried I’d end up accidentally offending her or I wouldn’t be able to get the right words out.”
“You just keep thinking about the worst outcomes. If you’re so nervous about doing it in person then just text her.”
“That seems kind of lame though.”
“What are we talking about?” Sakura walked into the room, her glasses sliding down her nose slightly as she yawned and settled into the seat beside Chaeyeon.
“(Y/N)’s crush on Hyewon, what else?” Chaeyeon responded, handing her girlfriend a strawberry. As she accepted the fruit, Sakura nodded.
“I figured.”
You flushed, slumping back into your seat. “Am I that predictable?”
“Kind of. You talk about Hyewon all the time.” Sakura smiled as she ate. “It’s cute though.”
“It’s not cute, it’s driving me crazy,” you mumbled, staring down at the table. “I really like her but I’m too awkward to ask her out and I don’t know if she actually likes me back because she hasn’t said anything either.”
“Listen to me, (Y/N). Hyewon is just as awkward as you are, if not more so,” Sakura said, leaning her head on Chaeyeon’s shoulder. You tried not to be jealous of their relationship as you were stuck pining. “I know her really well, we do a lot of tournaments together remember? And she’s super awkward at those. She’s not good at expressing herself so she gets flustered. But I know she likes being around you because she smiles a lot, and she usually only smiles like that around food and video games.”
“Really?” Your heart jumped in your chest for a moment before you quickly swallowed down your hope, not wanting to get your heart crushed. “I mean, I’ve seen her smile around you guys. Isn’t it the same?”
“It’s not.” Chaeyeon’s voice was matter-of-fact as she crossed her arms. “I wasn’t going to tell you this because I wanted the two of you to work it out yourselves, but Hyewon’s been talking about you nonstop to Eunbi and Yena. They said she won’t shut up about you, but when they tell her to make a move, she says she can’t because she’s too nervous. Basically, the only reason the two of you aren’t happily dating right now is because both of you are too awkward to ask each other out.”
Your heart raced as you sat still, processing this information. As much as Chaeyeon liked to play jokes, she would never lie to you about something as serious as this. So Hyewon liked you back. The realization made you a bit lightheaded and giddy, and you laughed as you pressed your hand to your chest. “Wow. I don’t know how to process that. Hyewon likes me too?”
“They’re really just noticing that?” Sakura asked, making you flush from embarrassment again.
“Hey, she’s gorgeous, of course I didn’t want to get my hopes up just to get crushed! Weren’t you guys nervous to ask each other out?”
“Not really. I just asked her out when it felt right,” Chaeyeon said, turning to glance at her girlfriend with a smile, and you sighed.
“Well, I can’t do that.”
“But you have to do something. You want to date her, right?”
“I do,” you said truthfully, feeling butterflies just from admitting your feelings again. “I really like her and I want to date her.”
“Then let us help you ask her out.” Sakura’s eyes gleamed and she grinned as she sat up to lean forward against the table, looking all too excited. “Yena is throwing a party on Friday, and obviously you’re invited. We’ll help you come up with a plan to confess then!”
Your palms felt sweaty just thinking about confessing at a party in front of all your friends, but you couldn’t keep putting this off forever. Plus, the two women in front of you didn’t look like they were going to take no for an answer. So you gave in.
“Okay. But nothing too big, okay?”
-
When Friday rolled around, you were so nervous you wanted to give up on the whole thing, but you knew you’d come too far to back out now. As you approached Yena’s apartment, you went over the plan in your head. Sakura had come up with the idea to send the two of you out for drinks, giving you time alone to ask her out. That way, it wouldn’t be in front of everyone and there wouldn’t be any pressure. Chaeyeon had advised you to just ask her out quick and to the point so that you wouldn’t get too nervous, and had told you to do it on the way back.
“Buying her something might be a plus,” she’d said, but for the life of you, you couldn’t think of a good thing to buy Hyewon from a convenience store. Food? She would like it, but that was hardly romantic.
Your worrying was cut short when Yena threw open the door and announced your arrival in a shout, throwing her arms around you for a quick hug before ushering you inside.
“(Y/N)’s here everybody! That’s the last person!”
“Why were you late? We were waiting! Hyewon wouldn’t let us start eating until you got here!” Yujin complained from near Yena’s table and you stole a glance at Hyewon, who was standing nearby. Her eyes met yours before she quickly looked away, letting her hair fall over her face to conceal a blush on her cheeks.
“Oh, I didn’t mean to make you wait” you said, the butterflies in your stomach getting worse. “You guys can go ahead and eat! But thank you for waiting for me.” This time, you smiled at Hyewon and she gave you a small smile in return, looking a bit sheepish before looking away again a moment later. As much as you wanted to talk to her, you allowed Yujin to drag you away to show you the food. You had to let your heart rest for a minute.
-
The party had been going for a little over an hour and you had ended up on the couch with Hyewon when Sakura approached you, looking as innocent as she could as she mentioned the drinks being low.
“It looks like whoever was in charge of the drinks didn’t bring enough,” she said with a pout, as if she wasn’t the one who brought less than she was told. “We’re going to run out soon.”
That was your cue. You swallowed, looking away from Hyewon so that she wouldn’t notice anything weird. “I can go get some more if you want.”
“Really? That would be great! I can spot you.”
“You’re going all by yourself?” Hyewon asked from beside you and you did your best to smooth out your expression as you turned back to her.
“Do you want to come? It would be easier to get drinks with the two of us.”
“Yeah, I can come, I need some fresh air anyway.”
Internally, you cheered. So far, so good. Now you just had to not mess things up. “Great! Sakura, can you let everyone know that we’ll be right back?”
“I sure can.” Sakura sent you a wink as the three of you stood up and you could only hope that Hyewon hadn’t seen it. “Have fun.”
You sent her a look, but nodded and headed for the door behind Hyewon, your heart pounding. This was real now. You were going to ask the woman of your dreams out.
The walk to the store was uneventful, with the two of you continuing the conversation you’d been having about her most recent video game. But once inside the store, you did your best to pay attention to her even as you picked out the different drinks you thought everyone would like. What could you get her? What could you say? How were you actually going to do this?
“Oh, I like this kind of bread!” With her arms full of drinks, she stopped in front of a display case, gazing down at the stack of packaged breads in front of her. Immediately, you realized this was your chance and slipped in closer to look.
“That kind is good! Do you want it?”
She considered it, pouting her lips ever so slightly. You could tell that she wanted it, because she pretty much always wanted food, but she seemed conflicted. “We came to buy drinks, so I don’t know.”
“I can get it for you, don’t worry about it. I know you want it.”
She flushed slightly and laughed, glancing back at you with that small smile she always saved just for you. “Was I that obvious?”
“You’re always obvious when it comes to food,” you said playfully, picking up one of the breads. “You don’t have to hold yourself back.”
“Are you sure? I can pay you back.”
“It’s just bread, don’t worry about it. I’ll treat you this time.”
“If you’re sure,” she said, “then I’ll let you treat me.”
“I’m sure,” you replied with a laugh. “Is that all we need?” Thankfully, nothing felt too awkward yet. Maybe you could do this.
“I think so. Let’s check out.”
-
Once outside the store, Hyewon held the bags on her forearm as she used her hands to open the bread, making you laugh, amused by her eagerness to eat.
“Are you excited?”
“I am. Thank you again.” She tore off a piece and offered it to you, and after a moment of hesitation, you accepted it with a smile. The bread was sweet and you enjoyed it, even if you were standing under a streetlight as you ate it. “Is it good?” She asked and you nodded quickly, giving her your approval.
“It is, I liked it.”
“It’s my favorite.” She fell quiet as she started to eat and you glanced around, realizing that it was pretty much just the two of you on the street, standing in the cool summer night air and eating bread. It was kind of funny, but the butterflies in your stomach started back up when you remembered what you were supposed to be doing.
You had to just ask her. You couldn’t let this opportunity go to waste.
“Hey, Hyewon?”
“Yes?”
Just ask. You took a deep breath and gripped the bags in your hands harder. “Do you want to go out with me?”
The night was too silent, even in the city, and time seemed to slow down as you waited for her answer, too nervous to even look at her. After a few seconds, she let out a little laugh and you dared to glance over. Her face was red and she was covering her mouth, her eyes crinkled up at the sides like they always did when she smiled or laughed really big. You swallowed as the pounding of your heart got worse, managing a lopsided smile.
“Is that a good reaction?”
“It is,” she said finally, nodding her head and pulling her hand away from her mouth to reveal a smile. “I was just surprised because.... I was planning on asking you out tonight too.”
Well, you hadn’t been expecting that. Your eyes widened as you took in what she was saying. “Wait, really?”
“Yeah, I had planned it out with Eunbi and Yena and everything.” She laughed again, leaning back against the front of the store. Finally, you laughed too, realizing that she had done the exact same thing as you.
“I planned this out with Chaeyeon and Sakura!”
“Really?” The both of you burst into giggled, a bit shy and embarrassed but also amused. “I guess great minds think alike?”
“That must be it.” As the two of you calmed down from laughing, you bit your lip and locked eyes with her. “So can I take that as a yes?”
Her smile grew and she sat away from the wall slightly, looking down at her bread, nodding her head, then looking back at you. “You can take that as a yes. But let me give you something first, because I worked really hard on it!” She shifted the bread into one hand and rummaged through her purse with the other, then pulled out a small card and handed it over to you, a blush on her cheeks. “Um, I was supposed to ask you if you wanted to come over to see that new game I was telling you about, since Yena and I live in the same building. Then they told me to give you this letter to ask you out since I was too nervous to say it out loud.”
You took the letter with gentle fingers, emotions welling up in your chest. The fact that she’d planned so much made you feel so special, and you couldn’t stop yourself from smiling as you opened up the card. Inside was a short yet sweet note:
(Y/N),
This is kind of awkward, but I want to tell you how I feel. I really like you and I have for a while now. I could never get the words right before, but I don’t just want to be friends with you anymore. I want to be something more, so will you go out with me? I promise I’ll get better at words so that I can tell you exactly how much you mean to me.
- Hyewon
“You can take your time getting better with words,” you said softly as you closed the card. “I understand your feelings. And I really like you too.” You held out your hand and she took it, moving over to be just a bit closer to you.
“My plan didn’t really go like I thought it would,” she said carefully, “but you can still come over if you want to.” Her voice was hopeful and that same giddy feeling was back, mixing with all the other emotions swirling around in your chest and making you feel like you might explode, but in the best way possible.
“We just have to make a stop to drop off these drinks. Then I’m all yours.”
Working at your company for 3 years is exhausting but it’s a good thing there’s someone to ground you and keep you sane
“... it's best if we do this with the funds we share that way...”
You sighed silently as you listened to the man talk on and on. “...and it's a benefit to both of our companies if we cut the materials by at least 25% don’t you think?” You tapped your fingers against the table and stared at the man contemplating whether to shout or kick the man out of the building.
“I will get back to you on that soon, I will have my assistant email you on when” without another word you stood and left the room moving to the elevator before going to your office and gathering your things and leaving, glancing at your watch, sighing after seeing that it was already past midnight.
You went to the elevator and exited to the ground floor where you clicked the keys to your car and drove home.
Half an hour into the drive you decided to stop near the park to get some air.
You wore your coat, going outside, pocketed your phone and breathed in the cold air, walking inside the park, spotting a bench you could sit on.
Although you love your life and the things that come with it; the money, the joy, the fun, and your job, you found it quite stressful. The late hours you’ve put up with because of the paperwork.
The miles you traveled just because of a business meeting and the early mornings where you woke up because you wanted to get a head start in the hours of papers you had to read and sign.
Yet with some miracle, you managed all of it for 3 years just because of one person.
A bright smile made it to your face when you heard the special ringtone that you knew could come from only one person,
“Baby, you coming home soon? We finished early and I asked our manager to drop me off at your place, I was hoping you were here, but I guess you’re still caught up with work,” you smiled, shaking your head forgetting that Hyewon couldn’t see you from there,
“I’m heading home now, Hyewon, you can take a shower, I’ll be home when you’re done”
When you heard the hum in reply you hung up, walking back to your car a slight skip in your step when you remembered your girlfriend who always kept you sane after everything you’ve been through.
When you opened the door to your house the sound of footsteps was the first thing you heard before you felt arms wrap around your waist pulling you into a warm hug. You breathed out a sigh of relief, hugging her back melting into your girlfriends’ arms as you rested your chin on Hyewon’s head.
“Welcome home, baby”
You smiled as both of you stayed like that for a while. You leaning your body on hers while giving Hyewon’s hair small kisses from time to time.
“Are you tired?”
You hummed in reply before Hyewon made a move to pull upstairs but you resisted and made your girlfriend turn her head to look at you, confused.
“We’re both tired but I know you want to spend some time together,”
You flashed her a smile but Hyewon only looked at you with worry. When she found out that they would have the weekend to themselves a flash of excitement went in her eyes which all her members didn’t miss.
The girls know just how much Hyewon cares about you, how she constantly relates everything she sees about you, the way she kept glancing at her phone wondering if you texted her back, or the simple heart eyes she would show around you.
You knew how much your girlfriend loves you. She may not say it often, but you know.
The times where she would pull you to her chest when you were sleeping, when she often squeezes your hand in the middle of a movie, or the simple things to let you know that she would always be there for you.
Just a small reminder for you to know that she was there with you even without using her words, she knew how to show it in her actions.
But right now you knew you looked like a mess, you had bags under your eyes, your hair was frizzled, and you could feel your eyes were starting to droop. You knew how excited Hyewon was to spend time with you since Yuri texted you the whole day about how excited Hyewon was to finish their schedule.
“I’ve never seen her learn the choreo so fast in the history of our career!” She joked which earned a laugh from you when you paused to text her.
But even though Hyewon wanted to talk and cuddle with her girlfriend she knew how tired you are, granted both of you should be tired but she knew that you would always wake up earlier than her because she often sees messages you sent greeting her when she checks her phone in the morning.
The constant ‘good morning’ and ‘I love you’ coming from you were heartwarming but she was getting concerned about you.
You woke up early in the morning without the sun even rising and came home almost the next day. So when she knew that you wanted to sleep but chose to stay up with her instead. She looked at you with a pout on her lips and her puppy eyes, you could only laugh at her cuteness.
You pulled her towards the couch, laying down, pulling her body on top of yours before turning on a random movie you two wanted to watch, “Hey, you have to get some sleep, we could watch a movie tomorrow instead” she reasoned with you, making you smile at her softly and pull her down.
“I could sleep later” was the only thing you said before you looked at the screen feeling a peck on your cheek a minute later followed by a weight on your chest.
Halfway through the movie, you glanced at your girlfriend and you couldn’t take your eyes away anymore.
Every day you would always find yourself thinking how lucky you are. To have Kang Hyewon as your girlfriend was a dream anyone wanted to have, yet you were the person to live it.
When you two met in a random cafe before, you never knew who she was when you bumped into each other. You cursed yourself for not knowing because you were too focused on your work. But when you got to look at her face you became such a stuttering mess it was like you were back in high school speaking in front of a huge crowd.
You didn’t know what happened but by the end of the week, you became friends which led you to be the person who she shows and gives her love to.
Glancing down you saw her eyes slowly closing before opening again. You giggled at her and leaned down pressing your lips against her forehead making her shut her eyes completely, the exhaustion slowly catching up to her.
You reached out shutting the movie before you pulled a spare blanket and draped it over the both of you. Hyewon moving slightly towards the inside of the couch, nuzzling her face closer to the crook of your neck.
You felt the warmth spread inside your chest as you felt her warm breath fan your skin. You gave her one more kiss on the head whispering a quick ‘I love you’ before both of you drifted off to sleep.
When the sun was high in the sky both of you were still on the couch cuddled together deciding to sleep in. But unaware of the whispers that came from outside your door.
“Is this legal?”
“Shouldn’t they be awake right now?”
“Open the door, already”
“The neighbors are probably looking at us right now”
When the door opened all 11 girls went inside quietly finding some signs of life coming from the house.
They decided to surprise you because they haven't seen you in a while. They wanted to come the night prior but they decided to have Hyewon meet you first since she was the girlfriend. Today they decided to come bother you and hang out.
But much to their surprise when they heard soft snores coming from the couch.
Eunbi glanced down, smiling when she saw the mess of black and brown hair mixed on the couch. While the other members cooed at the sight.
Hyewon’s head was buried in the crook of your neck while she clutched onto your shirt and you had your arm wrapped around her.
The girls smiled, staring at their member happily before Chaeyeon made a move to cover them with the blanket that fell on the floor, lifting her finger to her lips to say not to disturb the couple.
The girls were happy that Hyewon was comfortable in showing her feelings. They knew how closed off she was and when they saw how much their friend was comfortable in showing off her emotions to you. When Hyewon announced you were dating, they were ecstatic.
To them, you were the person for Hyewon, her anchor whenever she needed someone. Her shoulder to lean on and tell you her problems, that way she doesn’t have to carry it all on her own.
The same way goes for you whenever you forget to eat , sleep because of work. Hyewon was always there, either physically or digitally, she would constantly remind you to eat, sleep and take a break from work.
Both of you can keep each other happy and that’s all the girls want. So when they went to the back of your house they all squealed when they closed the door gushing about how cute you two were.
After a few more hours you groaned, starting to wake up from your sleep coma but a weight on your chest prevented you from turning. When you opened your eyes a small smile made it to your face when you saw your girlfriend’s cheek squished against your chest.
You glanced at the clock, seeing that it was almost noon making you shake her awake. “Hyewon-ah, time to wake up,” you cooed which earned a groan from her before she buried her face deeper into your chest.
You giggled at the sight, pressing a kiss on her forehead, seeing the slight twitch on her lips made you smile before you’re peppering her face in kisses until she’s giggling by your side.
“Good morning,” she greeted, you smiled before kissing her on the lips.
“Good morning, love”
Then suddenly you didn’t mind the endless hours of work, stress, lack of sleep. Seeing your girlfriend first thing in the morning was the best start to your day you could ever imagine.

It had been a long time since Hyewon had felt so cold. With her heart raw on her sleeve, she walked without destination, shivering in her jacket and staring at her boots. When had the world started spinning without her?
“I think we should take a break.” Your voice echoed in her mind, but despite the stinging behind her eyelids, she couldn’t bring herself to cry. She just continued to walk, playing that morning back in her head over and over.
“What are you saying?”
“You know things have been weird lately, Hyewon. We both have a lot going on. Don’t make this harder than it has to be, please.”
Was this her fault? Not entirely. Just like you’d said, you had things going on in your life. But she couldn’t help but feel that she was the one who’d let the relationship fall apart. She’d been working too much, too many hours, not leaving enough time for you. She could have stopped this. Prevented it before it happened. But she didn’t.
Something wet hit her nose and she looked up, glancing around at her surroundings. Somehow, she’d ended up in the tiny park where her first kiss with you had taken place. The cold winter wind sucked the breath out of her and her feet moved on their own, moving her over to that old swing set beneath the tall, bare trees as it began to snow. White flakes floated slowly to the ground as she touched the cold metal of the swing and sat down, closing her eyes. That day was still so clear in her mind.
“I want to kiss you.” It had taken all her courage just to say those words, and she had been relieved when you laughed, reaching over to take her hand and turning your swing towards hers.
“Then kiss me, silly.” The moon and stars had been covered by the clouds and your lips were cold to the touch, but Hyewon’s pounding heart had made her forget the cold. And when she’d pulled away, she’d looked up to see the November snow falling down as her breath curled away in the wind.
“I think this is a good sign.”
You’d laughed and leaned in again, stealing another kiss and making her heart jump in her chest. “I think it is too.”
When she opened her eyes, the tears finally came, pouring over and burning her cheeks as she looked up at the cloudy sky. Her throat hurt from trying to conceal the sobs, the tears left icy tracks on her face, and the cold of the swing stung her hands, but she couldn’t stop. She couldn’t get up.
So she just sat on the swing and sobbed, letting the November snow caress her face and bring back the memories of her first snow with you.

It was strange, to be single again. Even though she knew you wouldn’t be there, she found herself turning to her side, missing your warmth. Her finger hovered over your name in her phone after a long day, and when she’d find something funny, she’d go to send it to you, only to remember: you weren’t hers anymore.
Her friends brought her out to bars and tried to cheer her up, but everywhere reminded her of you. The two of you had been together so long that she’d gone almost everywhere with you. Still, she forced a smile for her friends, assured them that she was okay.
Because she would be. Eventually.
-
At night, she laid alone and wondered. Had she done things differently, would she still be with you? She had too many regrets to count, and they often came back to her when she was alone in the dark, her bed cold and empty. You often appeared in her dreams, and there, just for a little while, she could be happy again.
Her alarm clock sent her back to wondering as she left her dreams behind and got up, her mind swirling with the possibilities.
You had said this was a break. Not a break-up. But she wasn’t sure she really knew the difference.
-
December was hard. Her friends knew this and kept her close, but that couldn’t stop her from remembering the times she’d spent the holiday with you. She would often stop by something in the shop, thinking that it would be a good gift for you, before remembering.
Every single one of the girls tried their best to help her, in their own ways. Eunbi and Chaeyeon were always there when she needed a good cry, while Yena and Yuri were always there to make her smile. Sakura cooked for her and played video games with her, and Minju acted even more silly than usual to make her laugh. Even Chaewon, ever cool and a little bit distant, would wrap her up in a hug if she needed it.
She still thought about you, she couldn’t help it. But they helped make the holidays a little bit more bearable.
-
January was easier, just because she could throw herself into her work. She worked so hard she felt she might die, but she couldn’t stop. If she stopped, she would think about you. And she couldn’t allow herself to do that.
-
February broke her all over again. She had thought she would be okay. She’d gotten better in January, had managed to keep her mind off of you, and had even felt happy.
Then, on Valentines Day, she walked past your favorite restaurant and looked inside the window to see you sitting there with another girl. The sight stopped her in her tracks, gluing her to the sidewalk as she watched you laugh at something the girl across from you said.
“Hyewon?” Eunbi turned around, raising her eyebrows in confusion. “What’s wrong?”
She couldn’t answer. She couldn’t even breathe as Eunbi walked over to take her hand, looking concerned. Then, you turned your head, and she couldn’t think. So she ran, pulling Eunbi along, her heart pounding painfully inside her chest. She ran and ran until Eunbi grabbed her shoulders and stopped her, spinning her around to face her.
“Hyewon, stop. Where are you going?”
Hyewon gasped for air, then collapsed into Eunbi’s arms, sobbing so hard it felt like her lungs might explode. The older girl wrapped her arms around her tight, patting her head and rubbing her back as she tried to calm her down.
Her voice broke as she spoke, her face buried in Eunbi’s shoulder. “I don’t know. I don’t know what to do with myself.”
“It’ll be okay,” Eunbi assured her, but Hyewon couldn’t bring herself to believe it.
You had moved on, leaving her behind. And she had no idea how to live without you.

March went by in a blur of crying and working. Sometimes, she looked at your social media, just to see what you were doing, before she would remind herself that she shouldn’t do that. Seeing photos of you and this girl gutted her, but she couldn’t stop looking. She wasn’t sure why. Morbid fascination, maybe?
It snowed a lot in March, and she stayed inside as much as she could, cursing the weather. The snowflakes reminded her too much of you, and she hated them for it.
-
In April, you contacted her. When she picked up her phone only to see your name on the screen, she froze. She didn’t know what to do.
-Hey, how have you been?
Half of her was still angry, raw, and upset, telling her to ignore the text, although she truly couldn’t stay angry at you. The other half of her begged her to open the message and text you back, reminding her how much she missed you.
It took her a week to reply.
-I’ve been okay. How about you?
That was a lie. But she didn’t want to admit how much you’d hurt her, not when you were now living happily. Not when you’d already moved on.
-I’ve been doing well. I was wondering if we could meet up sometime?
Now, after so many months, you wanted to talk again? About what? Her broken heart was still hurting, and she hadn’t stopped dreaming of you. She wasn’t ready for this.
-I’m busy now. But I’ll text you when I’m ready.
-Okay.
-
It wasn’t until May that she decided she was ready. At one time, the little cafe that the two of you agreed to meet up at had held a special place in her heart. Now, it just reminded her of painful memories as an awkward silence hung in the air. It had never been awkward between the two of you before, and she hated it.
“A lot of things have happened since we last talked,” you said, stirring your drink in slow circles. “I worked out a lot of things, I mean.”
“That’s good. So did I.” It wasn’t really a lie. Hyewon had picked out all the things that had caused the relationship to go awry on her part.
“You’ve been working a lot.”
“Yeah. I didn’t really have anything else to do.” She let out a laugh that she hoped didn’t sound too bitter. “So I threw myself into my work.”
“I can understand that.”
Silence hung in the air once again, and it made Hyewon want to scream. There were a thousand questions on her tongue that she wanted to ask you, things that she wanted to know, but she didn’t know if she could ask them. She didn’t know if she could keep from crying if she heard your answers.
“Has anything else changed since we last talked?” She asked instead, going a safer route. You nodded, propping up your arm and resting your chin on your palm.
“I mean, yeah. It’s been a while. I reconnected with some old friends. One friend in particular.”
She couldn’t help herself. The question came out by itself. “The girl you were with on Valentines Day?”
You startled, then looked at her with wide eyes. “How.... How do you know about that?”
“I saw you.” Hyewon tried to keep her voice steady as she looked down at her coffee. “Through the window. I just happened to look inside because I remembered it was your favorite place and I saw you there.”
“You... were the person who ran away from the window.”
Her cheeks flushed with shame. “That was me. I didn’t want you to see me.”
“Oh.” You sat back and waved your hands. “It’s not what you think it was, I promise! She’s just an old friend from high school and we met up again recently and started hanging out again.”
“Really.”
“Really! Hyewon, do you not trust me?” You sounded offended, and suddenly, Hyewon felt angry. She was the one who should be annoyed, how could she not assume things when you decided on a break so suddenly?
“How can I? Are you broke up with me, you didn’t speak to me for months!”
“I said it was a break, not a break up! And you didn’t contact me either!”
“It felt like a break up! And how could I contact you when you broke up with me and disappeared? I felt like I’d just be annoying you! Do you have any idea how much I’ve cried over these past months?” Her voice was rising, despite her desperate attempts to control it.
“I didn’t mean for that to happen, I just-.”
She couldn’t take it anymore. She stood up, shaking her head. “No, I’m sure you didn’t. But it did happen. I loved you, (Y/N). I really did. But you didn’t even try to talk things through with me, and that hurt. You just left me to wonder what the hell I did to make things go bad. I know that things were weird. I know that we were both dealing with things. But had you talked things over with me, instead of just breaking up with me, we could have worked things out.” She grabbed her bag, holding back her tears. “Now, I’m not even sure if I can trust you anymore.”
“Hyewon....”
She gave you a tight smile and waved her hand. “I changed my mind. I’m not ready, I’m sorry. Goodbye, (Y/N).” She felt your eyes on her back as she left, but you didn’t try to stop her. And she wasn’t sure if she wanted you to let her go, or if she wanted you to call out her name.
She wasn’t sure what she wanted anymore.
-
-Hey, I’m sorry. For everything. I should have listened to you and I should have talked everything over with you. I never meant to hurt you, I swear. I was lost and I didn’t think things through. And I know this apology isn’t enough. But can we start over? Because I don’t want to lose you. I love you, Hyewon. Even if I didn’t show it very well.
-I don’t want to lose you either.
-
Getting to know someone all over again was odd. Some things were the same, while other things were different. You still had the same laugh and the same smile, but now Hyewon hesitated to hold your hand like she used to whenever you burst into laughter. You still liked all the same foods, but you seemed to hesitate when eating, unlike when you had enjoyed your food in front of her before. Everything was old and new at the same time. It was like having first dates all over again, but with a lot more conversations than before.
The two of you spent many nights talking, learning how to work through problems together and promising to be less selfish and to think of each other more. It wasn’t all easy. There were arguments and the awkward tension that made Hyewon crazy, but that was all part of the growing process. And Hyewon was willing to go through it all, because she loved you.
-
Before she knew it, the summer had passed and turned into autumn, which then turned into winter. She once again learned all your little quirks, laughed against your shoulder, and held your hand without hesitation. You once again spent the night in her bed, talking about anything and everything. The two of you were together again, two instead of one.
This November, the cold wind didn’t bother her as much, her gloved hand in yours as the two of you walked through the park until you reached that small park with the swing set.
“Remember this place?” She asked, turning to you with a smile. Your cheeks were flushed from the cold as you laughed and dropped her hand to walk over to the swings.
“How could I forget? It hasn’t changed a bit since we had our first kiss here.” You patted the swing beside you. “Come sit.”
Last year, Hyewon had cried on that very swing, and her heart hurt a little as she sat down, remembering the pain of that day. But this year, you reached over and took her hand again, swinging slowly just like you had when the two of you were young and newly in love.
“Hey, (Y/N)?”
You blinked and looked back at her. “Yeah?”
“I love you.”
A grin spread over your face and you squeezed her hand. “I love you too. Where did that come from?”
Eventually, she’d tell you about crying on the swings. But right then, she just smiled and shrugged her shoulders. “I just wanted to say it.”
“You’re a sap.” You turned your swing to face hers and tugged her closer. “But I like it.”
“Can I kiss you?” She asked, echoing her sentiments from so many years before, and you laughed.
“Of course you can, silly.”
This time, your lips were warm despite the chill, and she savored the feeling of your lips against hers and the taste of the dessert the two of you had eaten during lunch earlier. In her head, she replaced the memory of crying with this memory of kissing you instead, holding you as close as she could.
When she finally pulled away, something cold hit her nose. Looking up, she watched as a light snow began to float down from the cloudy sky, her mouth falling slightly open. Beside her, you grinned, looking up at the same sky.
“This is a good sign, right? Seeing the first snow with your lover?”
She laughed and quickly wiped a stray tear from her face, so overcome with emotions that she could only joke to hold back her tears. “I think the saying is for the first snow of the year. This is just the first snow in November.”
“I still think it’s a good sign,” you said, laughing with her. “After all, the first time we kissed was under the November snow and we managed to make it this far.”
“You’re right.” She smiled and moved her swing over so that she could put her head on your shoulder, watching the snow fall. It had been a while since she felt so warm. “Let’s promise to see the first snow together next November, too.”
You leaned against her and locked your pinkie finger together with hers, whispering for only the two of you and the snow to hear. “I promise.”
