OMG I've always wanted to play a game like that. But literally no one I know plays. Oh well. I'm sorry yours is ending.
I'm really lucky in that this game is some of my best friends, and even though we're all in our in our mid-to-late 30's (and our DM is in his early 40's) we've still been able to always carve out time for the game. We all really love it, and our DM is, honestly, phenomenal. Getting to play has always been the highlight of the month for me.
I've also always had terrible experiences with games with strangers, to the point of where I'd honestly like to play in another game more often but after a half a dozen attempts at meeting people and finding nothing but frustration, I've kinda given up. :(
