Thank you for playing my Protagonist Swap Game with me! Rheyah Adaar is of course my darling Inquisitor (and Kirkwall Enclave Baby turned Tal Vashoth), but if we transplant her Kith to northern Thedas, perhaps to the coast of Rivain...

2. Friendship - Who is their closest friend among the companions of the game they are now in?

I feel like Rheyah would be friends with pretty much everyone, but I think a friendship between her and Taash would be really interesting and good for both of them, especially if they grew up in the same community of Rivaini Vashoth. Rheyah would be 10-13 years older than Taash, but she has lots of younger siblings who would have been about the same age, so it isn't inconceivable that they would know each other and that she would be a surrogate big sister figure to Taash along with the rest of their family.

I think it would be really interesting for Taash to have contacts/connections within the Qunari/Vashoth community beyond their mother, and they would also have a lot to talk about with regards to gender identity, as they are both different 'flavours' of non-binary, but have taken it in very different directions in terms of their relationship with their families and the Qun.

On the other end of things, Rheyah’s arc in Inquisition is defined so much by her youth (she's only 20!) and her being the only Tal Vashoth in the Inquisition (at least until Bull's defection), so it's really fun to imagine a world where she's one of the Party Adults and acting as a mentor to a younger Vashoth - she would probably be a lot happier for it, and take very different lessons from the adventure.

🎈describe your style as a writer; is it fixed? does it change?

Okay, I'll double-barrel here: I think that if you ever came across anything anon that I might have written, you'd pretty quickly know it was me, or have an inkling, because I don't do much to hide my style. Most I write past tense, but there are a few present tense stories among those I've uploaded, and that's always a different way of reading and writing. Gotta stay on your toes, and really keep your tenses all lined up with present tense. Bepo's got his own particular voice (he writes fanfiction), and I've written drabbles in first person before (can't remember whose 1st person though!). Writing Doffy is always a ball of fun, and very different from writing Law, etc. I like the News Coo reports in Overlooked and Underpaid (Chopper and Bepo strike for higher bounties), and I also used both a news report chapter, and an autopsy report in A few drops of holy cuckold (very dark fic, so no link), so it was fun to get the right tone. I've got a few outsider perspectives too, and the outsider is say a marine in G5, in Punk Hazrd, or the reporter in Cuckold, and I think I write them well enough to keep the attention on the canon characters without them seeming to be random narrative devices. I think I can be brutal, sweet, funny, etc. but I don't know that that involves a change in writing style. I hope that it changes to match the premise and people, and that I occasionally shake myself up (had a poem that somehow did okay in terms of interaction! That one was a total surprise).

Aw, this is kinda unfair, cos I just uploaded the other day. However, it is an excerpt from a longer piece, and has Law, Aokiji, and Bleat the goat (Sengoku's goat) all going for a bicycle ride along an Aokiji-frozen river, so I don't think it's gonna have the readers charging in with their kudos and hits! 5. Rook being seriously ill. (she's probably like 14ish in this? slightly older than the last one of these I did lol)

Carolina was shivering. Which would be fine, except it was the middle of the Antivan summer. She pushed herself as well as she could through training with the other fledglings, taking hits she wouldn't have if she'd been in her right state of mind.

She hoped whatever Viago had planned for the rest of the day, it wouldn't be more fighting. Everything was spinning around her by the time she dragged herself to the room he'd claimed as his workshop.

He took one look at her and frowned. "You look like shit."

"Thanks, Viago," she grumbled, leaning against his workbench, were all the things he used to make his poisons were sorted and placed in very precise order. "What are we doing?"

"Drink this."

Carolina opened her mouth obediently for whatever he wanted to poison her with this time. Whatever, she already felt like shit. Whatever he was giving her couldn't possibly make it worse.

Several hours later she woke, blinking blearily. The candles were lit around the room, and she'd somehow wound up on the bed in the corner.

Rubbing at her eyes, she swung her legs over the bed, making her way over to the bench where Viago was scribbling something on a piece of parchment. "What did you give me?"

Viago grabbed a different piece of parchment, glancing at her. "Something I've been working on. Meant to knock out instead of kill. How do you feel?"

"...fine?" Her bones still ached and she was still shivering, but at least the world had stopped spinning. "Less spinny?"

Viago rolled his eyes. "That was from resting, not an after effect of the poison."

"You'll have to try a different day then, that's the best I got."

"Noted," Viago said, although he still scribbled something down, before shoving a book in her hands. "Read that."

"What is it?"

"A book about herbalism and poisons. You'll have to learn how to make your own sometime."

"Why, when I have you?"

Viago paused, glancing over at her, something unreadable on his face. "You can't count on anyone else, Carolina."

That was his favorite thing to remind her of. She just rolled her eyes, taking the book. At the very least, she could pretend she didn't know he was going easy on her, right now. If she brought attention to it, he'd probably make her run until she threw up or something stupid like that.

Although he was never one to do things in that vein. Viago was all about efficiency. Killing your fledglings wasn't exactly efficient.

"I'll try not to fall asleep while reading."

"Good. You snore. It's annoying."

"Unfortunately, I can't control that."
