im watching this video about fig wasps and basically what you get is the very smal fig wasp crawls in and lays its eggs inside the fig (technically mutualism i guess, not parasitism) and the wasp grub will start to develop. but then smaller parasitoid wasps will come along and force their ovipositor through the wall of the sealed fig and lay their eggs in the fig wasp grubs. BUT THEN another, even smaller parasitoid wasp will commandeer the hole that the first parasitoid wasp left in the side of the fig, and it will lay ITS eggs inside the parasitoid wasp grubs, inside the fig wasp grubs. oh and also there’s nematode worms sometimes too.
