Trigger Idea #4: "Resist"
Just a few more days, a few more trigger ideas left (for now, of course). This one, as has been the theme, may seem simple but the returns on investment are incredibly satisfying. Let's begin.
"Resist" doesn't leave much to the imagination to guess at what it does. When hearing the trigger, the subject is filled with energy, coming up if they were previously dropped, and will try to resist any attempts at dropping.
Now you may wonder, why on earth would you want a trigger to resist? After all, the whole point is to give in, right? It feels antithetical on first glance, yes, until you see how devious it can be.
Notice my wording of the trigger: the subject will try to resist. Trying of course implies possible failure, and that is the goal for both tist and subject. One of the sneakiest elements of this trigger is that it puts resistance, the subject's lines of defenses, completely in control of the tist. The possibilities are mercilessly endless.
My favorite thing about this trigger, however, is when it can be used. Being so deep in trance, fractionated within an inch of your life, basking in the bliss of sleep, and then being told "Resist"? The effort it takes to come up, to try and attain some semblance of wakefulness when your mind is still in the doldrums of trance, is truly beautifully cruel.
And then it becomes a game. How many times can you "Resist"? How many times have you failed? What did it take last time and how will your strategy change? What even is strategy anymore? Are the pieces of your mind so utterly scattered that the word "Resist" has lost all meaning?
How incredibly fun.
Have a lovely time with this one, let me know how it goes 🌀
