Trigger Idea #14: "Crimson"
Didn't get around to posting yesterday, so you're gonna get two today! With this trigger, we're going to explore something that's more imagination-based than others might be, in that it requires you to visualize something that is not there. Thus, it may end up looking and feeling different for you, but I'm going to elaborate on what it's like for myself and perhaps you might find variations for yourself within. Let's take a look.
With the sequel to the game "Control" just announced, I think it's time for one of my favorite triggers. "Crimson" is essentially an imagining of the Hiss from that game.
If you don't know what the Hiss is, it's an entity that takes the form of a deep red fog that takes over people in a variety of ways - it can turn them into the goons you fight, for example. But mostly, it simply causes people to float, usually with their heads facing up, sometimes on their backs, filling their heads with an incantation that they murmur ad infinitum. Peaceful. Pacified. Lost.
The hypno potential here is obvious, of course. There's a lot you can do with the Hiss as an idea. Here's what it does for me.
When I hear "Crimson", that color suddenly fills my vision, filling my mind's eye too. Layers upon layers of red, folding and twisting and spiraling. And I just stare into space as it engulfs my mind, my body, holding it in place and telling it without words to relax, to surrender, to succumb, to smile. To float. And in my mind, it feels like I am - floating in space, lost in that beautiful crimson.
This is lovely on it's own, but a particular favorite part is that after we move on from it in the session, it doesn't truly go away. It just sort of moves to the back of my mind, always connected, like a gossamer wire. So that should it ever be called back, it can flood my mind once more without effort. Bring me back to the depths of its colors, and suspend me again, helpless, mindless, and deeply, truly happy.
Bit of a unique one this time, would love to hear what you think and what variations you can find with this that may make it more effective to you - it's truly a wonderful canvas of potential, so give it a shot. See you a little later 🌀
