i know in famitsu they said the bw protags were around 14 and according to bulbapedia red is 11 in the kanto games and rse protags are 12 so i feel like theyre probably all in that preteen range

The anime pulled it out of its ass. The original Red/Blue instruction booklet stated that you are an 11 year old trainer though. The manga also states their age, but that’s not canon.
OH I SEE, i didn't realize it was in the instruction booklets. i guess the 12 thing came from the booklets too?
