Hey, Stork! How are you?

So, I always read your posts but rarely send you asks because of a lack of time to write what I want. But this time I'm here because I couldn't stay silent, that's the effect Hyunjin has on me 😔 I don't know if you saw the teaser images for the upcoming tour, but I was slapped in the face when I saw it. Like, Hyunjin is so so good at modeling! We can argue that his face has this effect on people, but I think that the other members are good-looking as well, and very good at their jobs, but none can transmit a certain emotion (or mood) like Hyunjin can. When I saw his teaser images, I felt like that was how it was supposed to be! I don't know if it's because the concept suited him better, but I wanted to hear your opinion, if you're willing; I enjoy your analyses, agreeing with them or not. Oh! I almost forgot: Chan's and IN's versions were almost as good as Hyunjin's, I think.

And oh WOW I almost missed out on a fantastic thing. One of the things I find really intriguing about Hyunjin is that as he matures out of boyhood into manhood, there's more and more a sad, navy-blue sort of vibe to his face. He used to be orange and sparkly. He used to be a rubbery kid, bouncy and tough, but as a man he's watery, as fragile as a soap bubble.

Hyunjin is unusual in that he seems both very heterosexual and yet very accepting of the male gaze at the same time. It's very fascinating to me, this capacity, because I haven't really detected in other Idols yet. Most boy Idols, especially the straight ones, cultivate, bask in and seek to control the female gaze. They sort of ignore the male gaze, and they don't take poses like this:

And this sort of thing is just gratuitous LOL. What is this face he's making? It's silly in the extreme - slack jaw and bleary eyed. And it looks so hot. Would it look good on anyone with 1% less pulchritude? Absolutely not.

Not every arresting dancer can be a captivating model, but when someone can do both, it's delicious. Look at all the interesting angles he's come up with, with his body, and the prop hat, the long bits and the ruched bits of his costume, the shoes and the bike.

And that complicated sadness in his face. He's looking at you looking at him, liking it but not without ambivalence. Is he prey or predator? Is he here for you or is he here for you?

It's also very interesting to me how persuasively he can pull of a gat, when as I've previously said, none of the beautiful guys in TXT can. Hyunjin's face is surprisingly classical. He seems so now and so 21st century and also he's not a common phenotype at all, and yet it works. Huh.
