Beta as an Ally in HZ3
So we all want more screen time for Beta in HZ3 yes? Well of course yes. My perfect girl needs her own armor, her own weapons, her own goals, and (hopefully) her own brutal melee takedowns.
But what form should this take? Curious to hear the community’s thoughts on this:
1 - The Last of Us Part 2: No Aloy and Beta don’t fight zombies. The idea here is that the game is split into components, some you play as Beta and some as Aloy. Two Sobecks for twice the fun.
2 - Bioshock Infinite: Beta is neither strong nor confident enough to fight like Aloy, but she wants to tag along and help out. So, just like Elizabeth in BSI (or Ellie in TLOU) she tags along and helps out. Tosses you ammo, sets traps, finds cover and herbs, and keeps her big sister alive.
3 - Assassins Creed Syndicate: You have access to Aloy and Beta at the same time and can switch at will as long as you’re not in a story mission. They each have their own armor, weapons, and skill trees so you can kit them differently for different roles. For certain story missions you would be forced to play as one or the other.
4 - Dishonored 2: It’s Emily and Corvo all over again, but this time Hephestus gets a hold of one of the sisters! You have to pick Aloy or Beta at the beginning and play through the game (or at least a chunk of it) with them. Similar to Dishonored Aloy and Beta are similar but have different skills sets and weapon preferences.
5 - Dragon Age/Mass Effect: Bring party members along. Beta (and I guess everyone else too), can accompany you on any mission or adventure. You can bring up to two party members along and each has their own mini skill trees, preferred weapons, and kitable gear like coils.
6 - God of War: Beta is the new Boy (Atreus). This is similar to the above but your only party member is Beta. She’s got her own weapons, equipment, and skill tree as well as combos she can do with Aloy. She contributes to combat more and more as the game goes on an is generally helpful AF.
Let the headcannons and speculations begin!
