I have officially finished my first playthrough of HORIZON ZERO DAWN! What a journey! Has taken me a real long time -- though somehow, my derpy ass still managed to not complete much of the side quests, so yeah I missed the inclusion of some pretty big NPCs into the final battle, which I will definitely want to attempt again for that. In any case, can't wait to experience HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST once it is out on PC.

What about drunk Beta and some of the HZD/HFW side characters?

Hey there, nonny. So, I've said it before, but the reason I have not included Beta in the drunk headcanon post, and will not be including Beta in anything of the sort is because she is a minor. Canonically we know she is under 18, probably between 16-17. This goes for any other character that is a child, as well. So, to be entirely clear and transparent, I will only write things of a G rating for any characters under the age of 18. And the content I write and share, regardless of rating, is not meant to be viewed by any persons under the age of 18.

As for other side characters, I'm more than happy to expand! If I don't hit on someone you'd like to hear about, please feel free to let me know! I appreciate your interest in my writing and thoughts! 🥰🥰🥰

Nil: this man is a goddam menace so it should come as no surprise that I imagine him to be the dude that drinks the most foul rotgut that he probably makes himself. What's worse is he's the rare drunk that seems to be even more damned agile the closer to blackout drunk he gets. He doesn't always use this for nefarious purposes just mostly, and often will use this to either liven up a gauntlet race or to scare the ever loving shit out of Aloy if he happens across one of her camps. Bonus modern drink of choice: he slams red bull vodkas, not for the taste, and chases them with shots of jaeger and yukon jack. He's here to get fucked up and cause a scene

Teb: Teb only really drinks when he's trading away from the Embrace, and while he tries to not overindulge, sometimes to just have to finish your mug of ale lest Erend busts through whatever door and tells him it's a party foul if he's being playful, or A Crime Against Ale if he's worked up about whatever nonsense he's off to stop this week. Teb is a quiet drunk, but friendly and amenable. Will happily chat your ear off about everything and nothing while blinking sleepily. A soft man and we love him for it. Bonus modern drink of choice: probably drinks light beer to keep himself steady and still manages to overdo it

Stemmur: A Good And Proper Oseram, Stemmur will drink whatever is put in front of him and weave tales of bravery and adventure to anyone that will listen. The deeper he gets in his cups, the more nonsensical they get. You could probably walk away during on of his tales, leaving him completely alone, and come back ten minutes later and he's just. Still going. Bonus modern drink of choice: Sam Adams. I just. Feel it in my bones that he drinks it exclusively.

Talanah: Talanah is from a respectable home, and as such, has access to some of the best of Meridian's wines and spirits. And when the lodge has a bad day, she's having a terrible day, and may or may not over indulge in some top shelf spirits. She's also the type I think to just take her liquor straight and neat, sipping at them until she's just pouring three fingers and knocking it back. I don't think she's one to indulge publicly. I think she drinks alone, either in her bedroom at the end of the day, or at her desk at the lodge, just taking the edge off or whatever impossible situation she's working through. Bonus modern drink of choice: aged whiskeys and infused gins, the best for sipping

Vanasha: have you ever been like, a nice, heavy buzzed with your girlfriends and you just all start touching each other's hair? Like braiding it, brushing it out, just running your fingers through it softly and scritching at their scalp? This is Vanasha. This woman has got so much on her plate, so much that she needs to keep close to her chest because literal lives depend on the secrets she keeps and plans she puts into motion so when she drinks a little much and can start to let go, she just wants a deep human connection to tether her to reality. Bonus modern drink of choice: expensive wines and champagne. Specifically champagne, actual champagne, from France. Not this fizzy white wine that passes for it everywhere. Actual. Champagne. And she deserves it!!

Drakka: being that the desert clan commander is in charge of water rations for his people, I think access to alcohol is pretty minimal, and something he strives to be used as a tension reliever amongst squads and settlements. He's got a big heart and even bigger ideas, which I think what makes it appropriate that this charming sinnamon roll is just a very emotional drunk. Whether it's about something he wasn't able to prevent or fears of being a poor leader, it just all tends to bubble up when he's had too much (on an empty stomach no less). Bless him he's trying really hard you guys. Bonus modern drink of choice: I think he'd just be really into craft beer. Like, people taking things into their own hands, in their own spaces, and trying to make something for friends and family to enjoy?? He's elated he loves it

Ivvira: Ivvira is a dangerous woman when she's stone cold sober, so please imagine for a moment how that multiplies when she is intoxicated. We see her in game absolutely gleeful that Aloy is around to be her backup, so she knows shit is about to go down. This is a woman that loves a challenge, and thrives in the midst of battle- she kicked ass at the Kulrut! So when this woman is off duty and looking for a good time, and has had a few rounds of whatever the Tenakth are brewing up (maybe traded from the Utaru for some of that blaze they're passing for mead- @child-of-the-west-wind I see you and I hear you about mead that shit can be TROUBLE), Ivvira is the one standing on tables, challenging others to competitions of arm wrestling or bow shooting at local enraged thunderjaws. This is a woman that knows she's a badass and will fuck up a machine's day, even if everything is pitched to the left. Bonus modern drink of choice: soco amaretto lime. And I say that because a soco amaretto is a solid choice of shot but you add the lime and they turn into something that makes bad decisions happen. She also probably enjoys snakebites. And now I'm starting to regret my early 20s all over again
