thoughts on bat(steph)girl vol 2? well, lemme think.

first of all, stephanie has bewitched body and soul but that was a given. she’s such a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of the gotham vigilantes, something that even bruce sees (the whole part where he ‘tests’ her was so goddamn good but i was banging my head on the wall yelling ‘kick him!!!’). i do wish steph did more than slap him, cause he 100% deserves it.

another thing i really, REALLY loved was damian and steph. they’re so sweet together and steph has this maturity about her whenever he’s around but she doesn’t make it super obvious, in the way that she more so ‘nudges’ damian in the right direction without saying it outright. i wonder where that relationship is in the newer runs though?

and last but not least, detective gage… best secondary character in this whole run i gotta give it to him, maybe only topped by wendy/proxy. which reminds me, maybe a cop out from the writers, to send wendy to nanda parbat, because she definitely would have been an amazing character still in gotham, but the idea and desire behind her choice is one that screams ‘character development’ so i’m happy for her anyway. i just think her going on a trip overseas is kind of her demise as a character, because she won’t appear in important runs anymore
