Yes, I admit that it would be not very tactfully of Lance himself to start that topic (bc it was HIS self-sacrifice) and on the other hand of Allura too, because thereafter she’d need to say “I used my Altean superpower and simply bring him back to life” BUT SHIT WHY NO ONE ELSE HAD NOTICED THIS ACCIDENT I REMEMBER THAT HUNK SAID SOMETHING LIKE “LANCE PASSED OUT” WHY WOULDN‘T HE CLARIFY IT AFTER THE MISSION. On this episode of Allura gets fucked over by the lion swap yet again!

From the new handbook:

Lance and Blue were supposedly the perfect pair...until Lance became a great and more serious leader and moved (read: upgraded) to the red lion. This suggests that a "great and serious leader" doesn't belong in the blue lion (which....what are y'all saying about Blaytz who was the leader of his planet?). But in the same handbook, it says that Allura "led the charge" against the galra empire. So is the implication that Allura somehow wasn't a good enough leader? Because that's really fucking shitty! The black woman has been removed from her leading position and demoted (yes! its a demotion! because lance moving out of the blue lion and becoming more of a leader is treated as a promotion!) to AT BEST third in command, behind two men who know less on the issues at hand than she does, and whom she previously commanded. I will never not be upset about this. 

If that wasn't enough:

The black lion is "quite literally" the heart of voltron. You know who else is canonically described as the heart of voltron? PRINCESS ALLURA. So tell me why the fuck she's in a lion that doesn't reflect her position in the team???? And we know the lions have a co-piloting option that can be maintained while in voltron so why the fuck are Shiro and Allura, described in canon as the head of voltron and the heart of voltron respectively, not co-piloting the black lion???? That is obviously the most sensible route for this story to take and is what canon itself points to!!!!! Instead Allura is put in a lion that is treated as the worst of the bunch and Shiro is totally removed from the lineup. Make no mistake, both of them have been demoted for no fucking reason other than to prop up Keith. Fuck you voltron.

Keith has Texas cowboy heritage on his dads side it would have been perfect for him and Allura to set up a relief Farm on Neo Altea where both of them can still go about the universe to save people if needed and to come home to somewhere where they can start a family. Like Keith and Allura both Lost their families it would have made sense for them to settle somewhere not on earth since the planet brings them both sm pain. Especially for Allura like she was supposed to have helped Honerva and then Come back to NeO Altea where she would have Lead her people to heal and build something new for themselves away from the tragedy. Like ALLURAS journey is supposed to be about healing and moving on why the fuck should she have to make the ultimate sacrifice in the end????
