hi! welcome to this fic :) i feel like it is a little different from my usual stuff but idk how exactly so you just have to read to find out! hope you enjoy :)
Itās a little after six-thirty when they finish making camp. The tent is...standing (nothing much else can be said for it), and inside it the sleeping bags are carefully arranged. A cooler and tote of food sit by one end of the picnic table, atop which is a small folding stove and a propane lantern. Four folding chairs form a sort of circle around the firepit, which is currently devoid of fire.Ā
āIāll go find us some firewood,ā Nick decides. Thus far he has felt less than useful - apparently, heās the only one of the group - Hank, Monroe, Rosalee, and himself - thatās never been camping, and consequently the only one who knows absolutely nothing about how to set up a campsite. He would like to do something useful tonight, at least.Ā
āDonāt bring back anything thatās -ā
āWet, I know.ā
āJust making sure,ā Monroe says, raising his hands in surrender. āYou want someone to come with you so you donāt have to carry a ton of wood all the way back here?ā
Nick shakes his head. āI got it,ā he insists with a smile. āReally.ā
āHave fun,ā Hank calls over his shoulder from where heās digging through the food tote. āOnce you get back, weāll start dinner.ā
With the promise of Hankās mediocre spaghetti to sustain him, Nick heads out into the woods behind their campsite, scanning the ground for any pieces of wood that look like they could be useful. He picks up a couple and ventures deeper into the forest, until he finds himself looking down the slope of a small hill. About halfway down it are several logs that look perfect, and Nick decides itāll be worth the climb back up to get them. He leaves the wood currently in his arms at the top of the hill and begins walking down.
The hill is covered with various plants, and several of them have thorns which keep catching on Nickās clothes. More than once he debates turning around to avoid going through any more of them, but he reasons that heās already on his way down and already has several thorns sticking out of his clothes. Might as well make this little trip worth it.Ā
Heās close now. He pulls away from an especially prickly vine, yanking the leg of his pants out of the grip of its thorns, and he must pull too hard, because suddenly his legs arenāt where theyāre supposed to be and heās losing his balance and he sticks out a hand to break his fall but heās on an incline and one hand isnāt enough to stop his momentum. He rolls down the hill and can do nothing to stop it.Ā
Itās one of the most confusing experiences of his life. One moment heās just stumbling, sure that heās about to catch himself, and the next, heās tumbling painfully downwards, thorns and pinecones and twigs poking at him and catching on him and hurting, and the movement itself is hurting, slamming every part of his body into the hillside, and itās making him dizzy and -Ā
And then heās stopped, breath momentarily knocked out of his lungs. It takes a moment for the sky above him to stop spinning, and when it does, Nick realizes that he must be at the bottom of the hill. His whole body hurts, and anywhere where heād had exposed skin stings, and he can feel little bits of who-knows-what sticking into him.Ā
āOw,ā he whispers, because everything hurts.Ā
For a moment or two he just lies there, forcing himself to get it together. The pain dies down fairly quickly, replaced by aching and embarrassment. He really does not want to have to explain this to his friends. Itās not that bad, anyway. Heāll just be a little bit sore and bruised, and itās not like thatās an unfamiliar concept to him. Heās essentially fine.
His fineness decided, Nick gets up. His hands hurt something awful when he presses them into the ground, and when heās finally standing on achy, slightly weak legs, he sees bits of wood and a couple thorns and even a pinecone scale pressed deep into his palms. He brushes off what he can and decides to pull out the rest when he gets back to camp.Ā
The walk back up the hill is exhausting. Whether Nick wants to admit it or not, his entire body has taken a beating, and it protests against the task. His legs burn with every step he takes, his chest constricts unpleasantly when he takes too deep a breath, and his clothes are still getting stuck on the thorns.Ā
He reaches the halfway point and the precious firewood heād endured all this to obtain. Nick decides that there is absolutely no way he is going to return to camp without it, so he scoops it all into his protesting arms, wishes it was lighter, and continues his slow and painful trek up the hill.Ā
By the time he reaches the top, the sun has nearly set, and Nick wonders just how long heās been gone. He hopes, belatedly, that his friends arenāt worried, as he picks up the other pieces of firewood that heād left behind. If nothing else, theyāll have a roaring fire, and he can sit by it and not move for several hours. That sounds niceā¦
But he still has to make it back to the campsite. Which, after his walk up the hill, is an easy task. He makes it back just as the sun dips completely below the horizon, dropping the wood with a clatter onto the ground.Ā
āNick?ā Rosalee calls out, peeking out from inside the tent. āThere you are, we were starting - oh my god, what happened to you?ā
Nick opens his mouth to say, nothing, really, Iām okay, but before he can say anything, Monroe and Hank are calling his name simultaneously, and he turns to look at them as they walk back up the path that leads to the campground bathroom.
āNick,ā Rosalee says, and he looks back to her. āWhat happened?ā
Monroe and Hank walk up to them just in time to hear Rosaleeās question.
āWhat do you mean, what happened?ā Monroe asks, and Nick turns again to look at him.
āAh. I see it now. Man, youāre covered in...forest. What happened?ā
Nick turns away from all of them, feeling his face burn in shame. Itās so stupid, he thinks, what a stupid way to get hurt.Ā
Rosalee says something soft, which Nick assumes is not directed at him, and when he looks up again, Hank and Monroe have left. He reaches up to rub his eyes and Rosalee gently grabs his wrists.Ā
āDonāt touch anything yet,ā she says. āI know you canāt see it, but I assume you can feel all that stuff poking into your face.ā
Now that he thinks about it, he can. Itās like it is on his hands - he can feel what he assumes are thorns and bits of wood and other such things pressing uncomfortably into his face, and some of them sting and some of them just ache and all of them hurt. He really wants to sit down.
āLetās sit down,ā Rosalee suggests, and they walk over to the picnic table, where the lantern is already glowing, providing light to Hank, who is stirring a pot on the little stove at the other end of the table.
Nick sinks down onto the bench, slowly and gingerly, and Rosalee disappears into the tent, emerging a moment later with a first-aid kit.Ā
From the kit, she produces a bottle of painkillers, shaking out two of them into her hand and holding them out to Nick. He thinks about refusing them and insisting that heās not hurting that bad, but she seems to know what heās thinking and shoots him a look that has him taking the pills without argument.Ā
Rosalee sits down on the bench next to him, gently turning his face towards the light. She begins cleaning off his face, starting by brushing off the bits of forest that will come off easily, then carefully pulling away the more resistant thorns. Nick resolutely does not react at all as she does this, just sits there and watches Monroe build the fire and rearrange the chairs.Ā
āThis might sting a bit,ā Rosalee warns, and Nick turns his gaze back to her as she tears open a packet containing an antiseptic wipe. She rubs it across his skin, and it does sting, but again he forces himself not to react. When she finishes with the wipe, she waits a minute for his face to dry, then pulls out a jar of something that is definitely not standard in first-aid kits and rubs it gently over his face. It feels extremely nice as it settles into his various cuts and scrapes, and he wonders what it is, then wonders whether he really wants to know. He decides not to ask, not that he feels much up to saying anything at the moment anyway.
Rosalee repeats this whole process on his hands, and sheās nice enough to not mention the fact that theyāre slightly shaking. āDone,ā she says quietly, finishing rubbing the contents of the jar onto his palms, and Nick lets his hands fall back to his sides. āThereās still stuff in your hair. Do you want me toā¦?ā
Part of Nick insists that he say no. That heās already been cared for, been vulnerable, more than enough for one day. But heās hurting and sheās offering and he really doesnāt want to do it himself. He nods.Ā
Gentle fingers run through his hair, pulling away bits of pine straw and twigs and who knows what else. Nick finds himself slowly relaxing, the aches and pains slowly fading, and by the time sheās finished, he no longer feels quite as bad.Ā
They both stand up from the table, meeting each otherās eyes. āThank you,ā Nick says, quietly.Ā
āOf course,ā is Rosaleeās reply. āIād hug you, but your clothes are still covered in..poky things.ā
Nick smiles lightly. āIām gonna go change, then,ā he says, and makes for the tent.
It takes what feels like forever, but eventually Nick is out of his dirty, scraped-up clothes. He carefully wraps them together and puts them at the bottom of his bag, then dusts off his sleeping area. The last thing he wants is to wake up with more thorns sticking into him because theyād fallen off his clothes and onto the place where heās supposed to sleep.Ā
āDinnerās ready!ā Hank calls out, and Nick unzips the tent entrance and steps outside, taking a moment to survey the scene in front of him. Hank, Monroe, and Rosalee are clustered around the table, and Hank is handing them bowls of his spaghetti, which smells a good deal better than mediocre. The lantern casts a warm glow on their faces, and to the side of them, the fire crackles and pops and blazes strongly, which Nick supposes is the least it can do considering all the trouble heād gone to for it.
Nick walks over to the table and accepts his bowl from Hank, who claps him lightly on the shoulder and gives him a soft smile. The four of them then head for the chairs around the fire, where they sit and eat and talk and nobody says anything about Nickās injuries.Ā
When they finally put the fire out and start cleaning up the campsite, after several rounds of sāmores and a rousing game of 20 questions, itās nearly midnight. Nick is still aching as he helps Hank gather up the dishes, but he barely even registers it - evidently, this evening is the best medicine he couldāve asked for.
Twenty minutes later, heās lying in his sleeping bag and wondering if everyone else is also secretly thinking that the ground beneath them is incredibly uncomfortable. Maybe you just have to get used to it, he figures. He could get used to it, eventually, he thinks. Heād like to get used to it. Because, despite the fact that heās managed to hurt himself extensively and somewhat embarrassingly, Nick has realized that he really, genuinely likes camping.Ā
thanks for reading this! all the stuff in this fic is based on my own experiences camping with my family (apart from the falling down the hill which luckily has not happened to me), so if anything sounded a littleĀ āwhy would you do that while campingā just know itās a product of my weird family lol. hope you liked this fic!!!!
A/n: uhh Iām Latina soo. Also I rlly like this one, it was fun to write. Idk what to say here so ya
Darnell:
Bro this man CANNOT get enough of ur food
Every time you bring him some or you invite him to one of your parties heās always fucking that shit UP
Literally just
āDo you two need a room?ā
āHmf?ā (Huh?)
āYou and the tamale.ā
āMm.. mofā (oh.. no)
He has good spice tolerance, so he loves all the food
Heās also does.. okay in Spanish. He took a few spanish classes in highschool so talking to ur family isnāt much of a problem
But some things are too complicated for him, like when you invited him to one of your gatherings your tia came up to him and gave him a headache
āHola! Mira como guapo es su novio!! Si hablas espaƱol?ā
ā..uh huhā
Save him pls
Sometimes when getting into arguments you use Spanglish against him and he tries too but fails
āDonde estabas? I was so worried!ā
āRelax baby eso no es my fault!!ā
He failed that Spanish class take it easy on him
When you two were in highschool, he loved doodling on your hand (cuz heās an graffitist) because of your tan skin (if you have it)
He always used warm toned colors while spelling something like āy/nā on your hand in graffiti letters
But sometimes he loves the doodle way too much to give up on it, so he would use it as a reference for another project at an alleyway
āHow long do I have to hold my hand up like this?ā
āJust ten more minutes babe, gotta catch that aspectā
āsigh que pendejo..ā
Pico:
He would actually die for you
Pico is into the whole āI <3 Latinasā thing so when he asked you out and you said yes he died
Pico STRONGLY believes ur the most beautiful creature on the planet
Now since pico is.. āš» spicy food isnāt his strong suit
Heāll try his best but all heās gonna do is hurt himself
āAmor, you good?ā
āCough cough yeah itās just a little cough hot!ā
āPico, itās a taki..ā
Heās mostly a fan of the candy your culture has to offer, he gets so excited when you bring him a pelon pelo
Now pico doesnāt know jack SHIT about Spanish
So when you invited him to one of your family gatherings he was so confused
āMira, es la novio de y/n! Tienes hambre, mijo?ā
āHuhā
He def tries, heāll point to something and ask you abt it
āThis is doo-si, right?ā š(Heās trying to say dulce)
āā¦.mhm!!ā
He also likes you give you Spanish nicknames, āmamasā is already his default but he also likes to throw āmi amorās and āmi vidaās in there too
Pico (even without you) is really into Spanish rock, idk I just think it fits his vibe
Your younger cousins really like nagging him about you
āHowād you meet her? Is she nice to you? Will you be my boyfriend?ā
it's so conflicting on both ends , for gerard to be in it for the sake of sweetheart's (what a cute nickname) and his trauma but also for his selfishness of wishing she was his . as for her , it's also beneficial that she find somewhere to stay and hv the company , but her selfishness is totally different : she's only using him becuz he's her love's brother .
but ofc the trauma that comes w/ being the s/o of a man who died in the war could always lead to going far out of character . imo it's justified for her to grow unstable , she just wants her baby back and she'll do anything she can to cling to the memory of him . i like these "weird" themes ur incorporating , it's so interesting to consume media where everyone has their own very human flaws , especially dealing with dire disasters . much more refreshing after the unrealistic expectations of perfection and constant stability that society pushes on us
awh i'm rlly sorry abt ur last experience w/ fanfic :(( idk y the community has grown so toxic when we're all supposed to uplift each other . what really matters is that u enjoy what ur doing . hate across all fandoms seems so disgustingly normalized , but w/ us , i promise u that u can work at ur own pace and take as many breaks as u wish , as long as u stay happy ! kisses !!!
love , šŖ·
wahhh youāre so nice anon :( i used to write for the mha and jjk fandoms when i was 16-17, and i had good and bad experiences but im just not going to rerelease my old fanfics until the fandoms have died down a bit with the endings of both of the series
im calling her sweetheart because her and mikey were sweethearts hehe!! :3
as for the issuesā youāre not over mikey and projects onto gerard a lot, whereas gerard sees you as the only family he has left after his father (maybe??) and brother died in war and his mom died of, what most likely might be, heartbreak and grief. he sees you as the woman whoās stuck by his side though the horrorific memories heās had to live withā the fact he can only sit in restaurants if heās in a corner, facing all of his surroundings. he covers his ears and locks himself in his closet on the Fourth of July, memories of gunshots and falling bodies clouding his mind with every firework set off. even cars, whether it be driving or walking past them or even just hearing the blaring of a car horn can send him back into the trenches. heāll never be able to visit a beach with you, or any body of water for that matter. i think the only reason heās able to take a bath at all is when heās with you, your body pressed onto his to ground him in the moment. sometimes, he goes days or even over a week without a shower.
and you were there for him through it all.
he truly saw you as this angel, sent down by divine intervention to help him. to gerard, you were a saint, mary herself was put to shame by how gentle and patient you were with him. he cherishes you, and your daughter, more than anything in the world. and if it wasnāt for her, he wouldāve blown his brains out the second you had passed away. but he had to be strong, working as a single father with his little angel. she looked just like you, too. she had your eyes, and the bigger she got he began to see the same girl he fell in love with when he was a young boy of sixteen. and seeing her smile, and flashes of you invading his vision instead, he wondered, in the back of his mind, if you had ever felt this way looking at himā if gerard had ever stepped into the right lighting or smiled hay the right way and he looked so much like his brother in that moment that you had to look away or else youād begin to cry⦠gerard never got to know what you had looked like past the age of maybe 25-ish? and most pictures of you were lost on your side of the family.
years later, after her father passed and she had kids of her own, she honored his past wishesā naming a boy after his brother. first, she had william gerard, whom she named after her dad. her second son came not too long after, whom she named michael james. she hadnāt completely realized her fathers brother had been nicknamed mikey until years later when she was looking through old family albums. she laughed to herself, pointing it out to her husband that she gave her son the same nickname as her late uncleā¦
when a much older mikey came home one day, introducing his mom to a new friend heās made, she doesnāt quite understand why her stomach turns at the sight of her. something seems achingly familiar but she canāt quite put her finger on itā¦
anyways, this is messy and im tired lol but i cant wait to actually start writing this series, i have some super secret ideas that i cant reveal yet even tho im literally buzzing with anticipation
Authorās note: This fanfic is just me projecting onto Lucy, as Iāve experienced something very similar before. I can heavily relate to her panic and overwhelmingness when Iām surrounded by unfamiliarity, and the misunderstanding of her own feelings. Sorry for the darker themes, I promise this isnāt weird fetish shit, I just wanted to write some good wholesome hurt/comfort between big sister and little sister.Ā
Sorry if some parts are confusing or contradictory, I rlly tried my best to clean everything up. Iām not used to writing things that r this long. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy!! :D

1216 Franklin Avenue held a large family of thirteen for many happy years, growing into the lovely home of the Louds that we know and love today. Even if the householdās total only got smaller with each passing year, the love stayed loud and strong. Everyone knew their role, how to do their part, and how to prioritize family above anything.
It was Friday afternoon, and the day has been going agonizingly slow, most of all for the familyās resident goth, Lucy Loud. She was now eighteen, and over the years, she's grown into a tall and slender young woman, bearing quite the resemblance to Slenderman, that one creepypasta she once heard Lincoln and Clyde obsess over. Speaking of Lincoln, he moved out two years prior, meaning Lucy was now the oldest Loud sibling still living at home. In addition to her only brother, their older sisters have too gone off to live their own lives as competent adults. She, on the other hand, remained at home for the time being. She had no idea what college she wanted to go to, so she hoped to wait it out until she was given an offer, or until her parents suggested one that particularly caught her interest.
She thought about getting a part-time job in order to save up to cover her eventual tuition, but every time she went for an interview, she'd unintentionally scare the interviewer away. And getting a job at her fathers restaurant wouldn't work either, as they were already overstaffed. It was all a bust. With no college, no job, and no more school, she spent most of her days alone at home, sulking and brooding as she waited for her parents and as well as her younger sisters to come back home.
Just as she did this day. She let out a sigh, quite literally saying the word to imitate the action. All she could do now was watch reruns of old episodes of The Vampires of Melancholia, since the show ended when she turned thirteen. If she was any younger, sheād say it would be a dream come true to be all alone for the majority of the day, left to her own devices so she could watch her favourite in peace with no loud interruptionsā¦but sheās grown accustomed to the chaotic nature of her life. She liked being dragged onto the crazy adventures her siblings would cause, even if it overwhelmed her, it always made for a great memory to think back on. With her family now being cut in half, it became a lot less frequent. Her remaining siblings were getting older, too, often preferring to do their own things rather than to spend time with one another. She couldn't blame them, as she's been there before.
She just yearned for her familyās loudness, at least one more time.
It's not like she could just straight up ask for them to adventure with her, because that was never Lucyās strong suit. She struggled expressing herself through her raw words, it's why she enjoyed the world of poetry, as it offered her an outlet for all her confusion and pent up frustrations. When it came to expressing it to her family, though, she blanked out. She couldn't understand why it was so much easier to vent to a piece of paper than to her own family.Ā
As Lucy sat on the couch, her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the front door slamming wide open. Startled, her head snapped towards its direction. Thankfully, it was only her two younger twin sisters, followed by their even younger sisters.
āOh, hi guys. How was school today?ā Lucy asked, happy to finally have someone to talk to.
āYeah yeah, it was fine.ā Lola, the prissy and sassy twin, dismissed, looking excited, āLook what we have!ā
The twins each held up an identical looking piece of paper. It read; āyouāre invited to my party today, 3:30, don't be lateā.
āLacey St. Claire finally invited us to one of her parties this year!ā Lana, Lolaās slightly older and dirty twin, exclaimed, beaming with excitement. She and Lola were practically bouncing off the walls.
āWhy is this such a big deal? Lana, I thought you hated Lacey.ā Lucy said, a bit confused.
āWell, yeah, I do, obviously. Sheās still really awful, but she doesn't matter!ā
āEvery year, any of the parties she throws is THE party to be at. Everyone in our school will be there, and thereāll be all the best games, all the best food, so many opportunities to create all sorts of fun and lovely memories and, of course, the best chance to score a boyfriend!ā Lola added, with Lana eye-rolling at her last statement.
Lucy nodded in understanding. She was a little upset that Lana and Lola would be leaving the house for another several hours, though she wouldn't allow herself to show it.
Ā āI see. Well, have fun you two.ā She said, turning her focus back onto the TV.
āWell, wait a minute, Luce!ā Lana shouted. She ran to Lucyās side, taking a seat on the cushion next to her. She held up the party invitation once more, pointing at one of the bottom corners.
āIt says here that we can each bring a plus one with us!ā She smiled, āAnd so I thought, who better than my cool big sister! You do meet the age requirement of 14+.ā
āOh? I thought you were going to bring Skippy.ā Lola teased, a huge smirk forming on her face.
Lana coughed, flustered.Ā
āH-He got his own invitation!ā She choked out, glaring daggers at her sister, before focusing back on Lucy.
āSo, whaddya say, sis?ā
Lucy stared at the paper, and frowned. She wanted to go, because she truly did miss going out with her sisters. But the thing is, Lucy really hated parties. They made her anxious. Unless she was in a room with people who shared her common interests, she would certainly stand out like a sore thumb. Since infancy, everyone knew she was different, it was certainly no secret. She never fit in with the larger crowds, she never fit in anywhere, really. The only large crowd full of people of various different interests she felt comfortable in, was her own home.Ā
She really didn't want to be given judgemental stares for several hours as she just stands in the corner, doing nothing, and refusing to talk to anybody. She might as well be a decoration. Though she was fine with being out of the ordinary, she would be lying if she said none of the comments people said about her ever bothered her. High school was brutal for that reason. What would people say if they saw the twins hanging around a lanky goth freak, or even found out they were related? They would be picked on relentlessly, for sure. And she didn't want that for them.
āSigh,ā She finally said, "I'm sorry, Lana. But I cannot go.ā
The two blonde girls gasped.
āWhat!? And why not?ā Lola asked.
A sweatdrop formed on Lucy's forehead, as she struggled to find an appropriate excuse. She settled for:
āIāmā¦um, tired.ā
āYou didn't even do anything today!ā
āI'mā¦always tiredā¦?ā
Lana plopped down on her stomach, stretching out her arms, placing them on Lucyās lap as she stared up at her with wide sparkly eyes.
āCome on, Luce! Pleaseeee?ā She begged. āIf you're going off to college any time soon, I want to at least make the most of our remaining time together!ā
Lucy hesitated. It's what she wanted, too. She was glad they were on the same page. She didn't want to make Lana upset. What is a goth to do?
She supposes that she could bear through the glares and anxiety, it was just for a few hours. She could make it through. And, who knows, maybe teenagers now have changed since she graduated. Unlikely, but it was a slight possibility.
It wasnāt the bullying that bothered her the most, though. It goes deeper than that.
She hated being away from familiar scenes, surrounded by strangers she didnāt know. She didnāt feel comfortable around any of them. Social events overwhelmed her easily.
She stared up at Lola, whose face was a mix of fury and disappointment. If she sets her mind on saying no, who knows if she'd ever want to do something with her ever again. She didn't want that.
She could bear through it. Just for today.
She couldnāt help but be a little excited at the idea, sheād finally be able to adventure with her sisters, like she yearned for. Maybe this will start something beautiful, maybe theyāll be a trio, like before. She wouldnāt be alone then.
She liked adventure.
Right?
āOkay, I'll go.ā
One after another, the twins' faces lit up. And before she could even process it, she was enveloped into a hug at both sides. It was crushing, as Lucyās immediate younger sisters have always been freakishly strong. She hated hugs, but even then, she couldn't help herself, so she hugged back, her lips forming into a smile.
āWait. If Iām your plus one, then, who's yours, Lola?ā
Extracting from the hug, Lola blinked, placing her fingers on her chin, a puzzled look etched on her face.
āI didn't think about thatā¦ā She said, flatly.
As if on cue, the second youngest of the family made her way down the stairs. She still sported her backpack, as it hasn't been long at all since she's come home.Ā
āWhich one of you suckers were responsible for misplacing my very important metal? Do you have any idea how difficult it is for a fourteen year old to obtain mercury!ā She scolded, gesturing to her backpack. Thankfully, her lisp was long gone, making it so nobody had to shield their face every time she spoke anymore.
In turn, Lola gave back nothing but a scheming smirk, which caught Lisa by surprise.
āSo, it was you?ā She accused her older sister.
Lola shook her head, walking close up into Lisaās face. Her arms laid behind her back, as if she was about to discuss a serious matter.
āSay, Lisssssā¦.how would you like to attend the hottest party in Royal Woods, going on tonight?ā She said, handing her the flyer.
Lisa inspected it, unamused.Ā
āFirstly, 3:30 is still the afternoon, not night. Secondly, why should I waste my time with pointless social events? Thirdly, the mercury, woman!ā
Lola placed a hand on Lisaās head, giving it a few pats as she hugged her.
āBecause you loveee meeee?ā She faked a large convincing smile.
Lisa only stared, unphased.
āIf it is optional for me to go, I am not interested.ā She said, walking out of the room. āNow, if you excuse me, I have an unfortunate call to make with my dealer-ā She faked a cough.
āI meanā¦friendddd...ā She smiled, suspiciously.
Lola groaned, running after Lisa.
āLISA! WAIT!!ā She screeched, though Lisa didn't stop her steps. āWhat if I told you Lacey had stupid medical friends? Sounds pretty fun, huh? Could learn a lot from them.ā
Lisa stopped in her tracks, turning her head back, her interest peaking.
āNow you're talking. I will accompany you, sister.ā
Lola pumped her fist in the air, cheering. She would have to thank Lincoln for those convincing tips the next time she sees him.
-{Later}-
A few tens of minutes later, the sisters got dressed and ready for the party.
Lanaās outfit consisted of a murky green dress shirt, ripped up jeans, and her famous red cap. She was never one to doll herself up, instead preferring to be comfortable and natural. She only put a little effort in her appearance because she knew her best friend, Skippy, would be there. He never cared for how others looked, but she still wanted to impress him. It made for a good conversation starter.
Lisa was more neutral with her choice of outfit, putting less care and thought into it, as she chose to wear only her usual outfit. She didnāt feel the need to prettify herself, because she didnāt need the validation of a bunch of idiotic and possibly drunk teens. But since she heard med students may attend, she thought sheād need to appear at least a little professional, so she threw on a cute little red bow tie.
Meanwhile, in her room, Lucy had trouble deciding on what to wear. She couldnāt think properly with the strong feelings of anxiety making its way up into her throat and head. With every outfit she carefully picked out from her wardrobe, she was able to point out exactly how people would make fun of it. She couldnāt find a single thing people wouldnāt comment on.Ā
When rummaging, her eyes landed on a plain black hoodie that would look decent paired with her identical plain black skirt. It wasnāt the most fashionable thing in the world, but it would ensure the least amount of comments and attention. And itās not like she had many choices anyway. She knew she couldnāt avoid judgement, but she could at least minimize it.Ā
For accessories, she looked through her jewelry box. She groaned seeing that most of them consisted of skulls, spiders and vampire patterns. Like anybody would ever leave her be for wearing those. She couldnāt find anything acceptable to use.Ā
She verbally sighed, deciding on the plain pair of black earring she got for her fifteenth birthday. They werenāt the prettiest, but at least she wouldnāt stand out. Standing out was the last thing she wanted to happen.
She walked towards the door to her room, ready to open it to meet with her sisters downstairs, to get this cursed night over with. She placed her hand on the knob, turning her head towards the mirror against the wall.
Her uninteresting reflection stared right back her. She smiled.
Perfect. Nobody there will notice me. Maybe sheāll get through the day without any worry after all. And then, things will get better. After this, her sisters will see how fun she can be, and theyāll spend more time together.
With newfound confidence, she opened the door, walking out into the hall. Near the stairs, she saw two of her younger sisters conversating.
āAre you sure youāll be fine being home alone for a few?ā Lana asked, a hand rested on the youngerās shoulder. āMom and dad wonāt be home for another five hoursā¦ā
āIm sure! Iāve got more than enough rations to get me through. Plus, Iām eleven now, thatās basically the age of peak responsibility.ā The youngest of the family, Lily, reassured.
Lana let out a chuckle.
āSure.ā She said, āRemember, give one of us a call if anything goes wrong, ākay?ā
Lily gave her older sister a thumbs up, with Lana giving her a smile in return.
The door to Lisaās room opened, with Lisa emerging from it. She carried two briefcases in both hands.Ā When Lucy asked what it was for, Lisa simply explained it was classified. She decided not to push further past that.
When the clock read 3:22, the sisters decided to head out for Laceyās place.
As the siblings gathered at the door, it became very clear one of them was missing.
āLolaaa! Hurry up!! Weāre going to be known as ignorant assholes if weāre not there soon!ā Lana shouted towards the upstairs.
She heard her twin faintly yell to give her a minute, before she finally revealed herself at the top of the staircase.
āIntroducing, the marvellous Lola Loud!ā She announced, striking a pose.
Her look strongly contrasted that of her sisters. While they did the bare minimum, Lola pushed further, and beyond that. She wore a neat and tidy party dress, that was coloured in a light pink, and also had diamonds and glitter etched into its pattern, which mirrored the look of her glimmering high heels. The tiara she sported was gold and shiny, which matched with the golden colour of her elegant opera gloves. Her hair was made to be wavy, and was styled into a crown braid. She looked like a princess, down to the dolled makeup she had on.Ā
Out of everyone in their family, Lola was always the one who went the most overboard when it came to her appearance, tied only with Leni, of course.
As Lola model walked down the stairs, a roar of compliments and praise rang out. They clapped, and marvelled at Lolaās appearance.
Lucy, however, stayed silent. She was glad she was known to not show much verbal support, or otherwise Lola would have several problems with her for being silent. She was worried. If she was to be hanging out with Lola during the party, when she was in such an eye-catching outfit, then people would for sure notice Lucy floating around her. Which will cause them to compare the two sisters, and eventually cause them to bully her relentlessly.
She once again felt dread for the event that was to take place in just a few minutes. She made a mistake. Maybe she should just back out. There would be other opportunities to adventure.
Before she could even speak up to do so, she was pulled towards the entrance of the front door.
āBye!! Have fun, you guys!ā Lily called out as her four older sisters exited the door, with three of them waving her goodbye.Ā
The remaining Louds piled into Vanzilla, with Lana taking the wheel, as Lucy had no idea where Lacey lived, and because Lola was probably the most insufferable driver, because of her intense road rage. And, well, Lisa didnāt have a license.
The ride couldnāt have taken more than 5 minutes, because they were there before they knew it, much to Lucyās dismay. 5 minutes wasnāt enough to mentally prepare for the humiliation she would probably face at that party.
As they pulled up to the house, they could see the party already started. They could hear the loud music coming from the inside, and there were people partying out in the yard.Ā
Laceyās house was huge, bigger than any of the Louds could have ever imagined. Her house was like the equivalent to the size of a mall. It was humbling.
As her younger sisters exited the car, Lucy hesitantly followed after, masking her nervousness behind her usual neutral face. She walked to the front door, noticing people barely younger than her passed out on the porch. Already? The party just started.
The sisters looked around in awe, seeing the crowd of people all doing different things. They saw a few dozen people gathered around a pool table, another dozen surrounding the TV, and several others having a blast at the karaoke stand.Ā
There was a lot of shouting, cheering, drinking, andā¦.couples being cringy.
āThis place is so packed!!ā Lola exclaimed.
āYes, to an alarming amount.ā Lisa deadpanned. āCould be a fire hazard.ā
The front door felt like a portal to another world. And Lucy hated it.
But, hey, at least she was with her sisters. Nothing could go wrong as long as she stayed close to them. Even with Lola, even if she would catch others attention, maybe theyād be too focused on her?
She took a deep breath, feeling some sort of relaxation. Maybe she had nothing to worry about.
She could just focus on having fun with her sisters.Ā
āAh, crap. I forgot to go to the bathroom.ā Lana suddenly said.Ā
āUgh, seriously? I told you to go before we left!ā Lola ridiculed her.
āOh, shut up. I was excited. So sue me.ā Lana retorted, rolling her eyes.
āAnyway, I'm going to go use the John.ā She looked around the room puzzly, āWherever that may beā¦Iāll be back in a jiffy. I promise!ā
āOhā¦um, okay.ā Lucy said, nodding.
And she was off.
āWe should really start putting sticky notes to remind her to do things, cause this is just ridiculous.ā Lola joked, nudging Lucyās side. She only nodded in response.
No problem. Sheād be back soon, and sheād have her other sisterās company in the meantime.
After feeling a hand grab her shoulder, Lola looked down at her little sister, Lisa, who looked up at her with her usually unimpressed expression.
āWould you mind accompanying me as I venture out to scout any medical school students? I donāt want to get lost in this sea of germs and stupidity.ā She asked her, her tone flat.
Lola raised an eyebrow.
āUh, why are you asking me?ā
āBecause youāre the more violent one, you could protect me more effectively if a nuisance dares to lay its hands on me.ā
Lola shrugged, humming as she did so.Ā
āWhat about Lucy?ā
āWe wonāt be long. She can stay here and wait for Lana to return from the ladies room, so she wonāt get lost or wonder where we have gone. Then, we can all meet up later and party together.ā
Lucy wasnāt sure she liked that plan. But it's not like she could protest, because before she could even register it, she was alone.
She regretted agreeing to this.. What was she thinking? Not only did she hate lively events, but now she was completely alone. For who knows how long!
Itās not like she could bail on them now, or sheād have to face Lolaās outrage and disappointment later. Sheād never want to be around her again, sheād forget her and hate her forever.
This was all wrong!
As panic began enveloping her mind, she didnāt know what else to do but just stand there. Hopefully people would think sheās just a mannequin. Or, heck, she hoped people thought she was a ghost. Anything. Anything to ensure sheād make it through the party without talking to anyone.Ā
She could get through it, she had to.
She walked towards one of the corners of the large room, being careful as to not accidentally bump into anyone. Thankfully, she was successful.
āāāāā
Twenty five minutes have passed, and Lucy stayed where she was, her anxiety levels never ceasing for even a moment.
She had nothing better to do, so she carefully grabbed the sketchbook from her sweaterās pocket, and began sketching anything that came to mind. She did this to help ground herself, so she doesnāt accidentally spiral into a panic attack.
It worked, for the most part. She even eventually forgot where she was for a moment. Maybe this wouldnāt be so bad. Sheād just draw until Lana, or one of her other sisters came back. Theyāve been taking too long, they said it wouldnāt take long. Did they already forget about her?
She shook her head, trying to stay hopeful.
It worked, until the comments started.
She heard whooshing sounds from all sides. People leaned into a friend, or a partner, their hand covering their mouths, with their other hand pointing right at her.
She couldnāt make out what they said, but it felt like mockery. Why else would they be whispering so discreetly?
She tried to ignore it. She could stay strong. For them. She couldnāt disappoint them now! She couldnāt risk them never wanting to talk to her again.Ā
But she couldnāt shrug it off, the voice inside her didnāt allow it.
She hated being alone for this reason. She couldnāt feel the presence of anything familiar to her, the spirits voices that usually guided her were drowned out and inaudible, the warmth she felt when with loved ones vanished. She had no reason to think positively.
Everything was different. She couldnāt recognize a single person, a singular smell, or any patterns she could follow.Ā
Her overwhelming feelings got caught in her throat, suffocating her, like a hiccup accumulated of anxiety. Her hands felt colder than they have ever felt in her life.
This feeling felt so foreign to her, but so very familiar. High school was never easy, but she at least had the support ofā¦
She needed her sisters. She needed her brother. She needed anyone. Anyone to rescue her from being buried in this wave of darkness.
But they werenāt around.
The feeling thatās been eating at her for almost a year got too unbearable in that instance. She went to this party to escape it, but in turn, it only got louder.
She never feared death, she never has, she feared being alone, she feared being forgotten.Ā
She feared her family not wanting her anymore.
She was all alone, she didnāt have anyone to lean on. She couldnāt breathe, she couldnāt see. She couldnāt feel any part of her body, only her heart, and it wasnāt a nice feeling.
It ached, it strangled her.Ā
Her face felt wet with something sheād never felt before. It only restricted her breathing more, and more, until she couldnāt breathe at all. It was as if her oxygen supply had been cut.
She couldnāt feel her feet. She couldnāt feel the ground her feet made contact with. She couldnāt feel the air rushing past her as she ran.Ā
She ran, she didnāt know where. She just ran. Anywhere to finally breathe.
She shouldnāt have gone. She should have stayed home. She wasnāt cut out for things like this, it was humiliating. Why couldnāt she just do things normally? Why couldnāt she be alone, and be perfectly fine? Why was it so different when they were around?Ā
Whenever she was alone, she still knew where they were. She could scout them out if needed.
But, now, everything familiar to her was lost, she couldnāt see.Ā
She was alone, sheās never been alone before.
She thought she wanted nothing more than to adventure with them. This was exactly what she wanted. So why did she feel so awful? Why did she hate every moment of this?
She ran, not even noticing the laughter that shot through her.
She needed them.
āā
Somewhere else in the room, not too far off, Lana and Skippy were having a casual talk about things car related. Rather it be engines, pistons, brakes, or just race cars. Both of them were super passionate on the subject, each having their own handful of fun facts and tips. It was the most fun they had in a while.Ā
She had bumped into him on her way out of the bathroom, and they began chatting as best friends do.
She didn't intend on staying there long, she planned to walk back with Skippy in order to expand their party, to have more fun. But as they talked, she became too absorbed into the topic, and she completely spaced out. She hadnāt noticed how much time had passed.
In the middle of their conversation, Skippy stared off into the distance as Lana was talking.
She took notice of this, and asked him what was wrong.
āHeyy, so, I might be wrong about this, but I think I just saw your sister run off. She looked like she was panicking pretty badly.ā He said.
Alarmed, Lana looked in the same direction he faced. āWhat? Which sister??ā She asked, urgently.
Shit. She forgot they were here, too.
āTheā¦emo one? Lucy, I think.ā
āOh shitā¦ā She gasped, turning to look at Skippy.Ā
Lucy never panicked. Something bad mustāve happened.Ā
āIm sorry, Skip, I gotta go.ā
āYeah, no, I understand. Go, we can talk later.ā He said, giving a reassuring smile.
Immediately, Lana ran off to the direction Skippy pointed towards, shoving through large crowds of people who stood in her path. She heard some of them laughing, it certainly felt targeted, but not directly at her. Still, she felt offended.
Lana also felt guilty. She promised she wouldnāt take long, but she unintentionally left her alone for so long, who knew what could have happened in that time.
She prayed the urgency was just her desperately needing the bathroom. Even so, though, Lucy was never one to run unless her life depended on it. This was so unlike her. It was so unlikely it was as if the universe had some sort of imbalance.
But, right now, her only concern was how she was feeling, and if she was okay. Those were the only important inquiries that ran in her mind.
What happened to her sister? Did she get into a fight? Did somebody do something to her? So many possibilities rushed into her mind, none of them being any sorts of good. She shouldnāt have left her alone. What was she thinking.Ā
Wait, where was Lola and Lisa? Why werenāt they anywhere around??
Sheād worry about that later.
Lana cursed the size of the house, it made it increasingly difficult to traverse it fast enough, and the quantity of people it was able to hold certainly didnāt help.
Finally, she made it to her likely location, a small hallway tucked away in the very back of the house where nobody was currently there. It was quiet. So quiet you could hear a pin drop.
She came to an abrupt stop, hugging the wall in order to catch her breath.Ā
When collected, she walked steadily to the nearest door, giving it a gentle knock.Ā
āLucy? Areā¦are you in there?ā She said, trying not to sound too nervous. She needed to be strong for her.
When she didnāt hear the familiar voice of her sister from the other side, she tried again.
āItās me, Lana. Can Iā¦come inā¦? Please? I'm kinda scared for you right now.ā
She didnāt hear anythingā¦only a few quiet sobs. A sound sheās never heard before. It sounded like Lucyās, or what sheād imagine her cries to sound like.
It was certainly her tone, her voice.
Would barging in really be the wise thing to do? What if she was really just using the bathroom? Was this even a bathroom??Ā
Seeing as her safety was a priority to her, she decided to slowly turn the doorknob, gently pushing the door open. She walked in, closing it behind her, being careful as to not startle her..
She saw Lucy sobbing on the floor of the room, which she could now see was, in fact, a super large closet, not a bathroom.
She had her head buried in her hands. She was shaking badly. So badly it was as if one of her nerves were shot.
Lana just stood there, taking it all in. Sheās never seen Lucy like this before. Sheās known her all her little life, sheās always been there since her birth, and not once did she ever see her shed a tear, or even express this level of intense emotion. Whenever she was happy, she expressed it in her same stoic manner. Same with her other emotions. She always felt deadpan no matter what, it made it hard to read her.Ā
So, to see her older sister this way, it feltā¦.
Surreal.
She didnāt know what to do, she didnāt know what to say. So, she just took a seat on the floor next to Lucy.
āWhat happened out there, Luce?ā She asked, trying her best to mask her tone. She wanted to sound comforting for her.
āIt was nothing, Lā¦Lanaā¦.ā Lucy said, barely above a whisper. Her voice was shaky, wavering with each syllable. It was the most emotion she heard in her voice. Ever.
She wasnāt buying it.
āYou know, Iām never able to read you.ā Lana started, āBut now, I can, by miracle. Because youāre distraught. So you canāt lie to me effectively again, sis.ā
Lucy gripped onto her hair tightly, tugging on it as her breathing became more and more difficult.
āI hate parties.ā She gasped out, her tone harsh and pained.
āI hā¦hate them. I'm sorry, Lā¦L-Lanaā¦āĀ
Why was she sorry?Ā
Lana opened her mouth to speak, but was promptly cut off by the sound of Lucyās gut wrenching sob. Her shaking worsened, to the point where Lana could barely see her hands.
What could she say? Would anything even make a difference?
Lana didnāt know what better to do, so she hesitantly wrapped Lucy into a hug.
She hated hugs, she knew that.
But she didnāt hate this one.
Lucy clutched Lanaās shirt, burying her face into her chest. She cried heavily, hiccuping through gasps of air, it looked painful.
āYouā¦you shouldnāt ha-have invited me. Y-Youā¦you shouldāve brought somebody elseā¦ā Lucy cried, shame and despair filling her voice.
āI donāt want to lose you guysā¦I..I want to spend time with you like before.ā She choked out. āI canāt take it. I thought I- I thought I wanted to adventure with you guys so badlyā¦b-bā¦butā¦I-ā
She choked on her words.
āIt turned out that I just wanted to be around you guys. T-Thatās what I wanted most. I canāt do adventures like this.
āI just canāt. I'm sorry.ā
Lana rubbed Lucyās back gently, trying to console her the best she could through her pained sobbing. She felt useless in this situation.Ā
Lana could always depend on Lucy whenever she was feeling down, but now she was blanking out when Lucy needed her!Ā
āI'm sorry, Lucy- Iā¦Iām sorry for leaving you be. I'm sorry for forcing you..I-ā She tried, pathetically.
Lucy clutched harder onto her younger sister. Afraid sheād be swept away by the waves of obscurity once more.Ā
āI canāt do this, Lanaā¦I miss everyone. I miss you. I miss home.ā
āWhy didnāt you just tell us how you felt about everything?ā
Because she never allowed anyone to see through her, to see the strong emotions she had on the inside. They never leaked out, they stayed in place, she had total control over them.
But, just because she could control them, doesnāt mean she could make herself feel better on her own.
She didnāt know how to vent, she didnāt know how to be vulnerable. It never came to her naturally. Itās why nobody has ever comforted her in this way before, they either never knew she was upset, or they just didnāt know the severity. And she never knew how to ask for help, how to ask for a warm embrace to make it all go away.Ā
So she coped with the feelings alone, preferring to write away her sorrows.
But, right now, she was in such a humiliating state of vulnerability. She could be read clearly, like a poetry book. The walls she built around herself were cracking, with the contents seeping out for her younger sister to see.
āIā¦I wanted to spend time with you guys. I didnāt want to be forgotten. I wanted to make memories so you guys wouldā¦remember me. Because I cherish every moment we spend together. If I wouldāve said no, thenā¦ā
She sighed.
āI feared none of you would invite me to do anything ever again. A-And weād just drift apartā¦ā
Her voice was frail, and hoarse. She could feel the pain emitting from it.
Her words awakened a new confidence within Lana. What would Lori say? She asked herself. Then, it clicked.
She exhaled.
āLucyā¦ā Lana started, flashing a reassuring smile..
Ā āIf you wanted to hang out with us, you should just say so. Weāll always say yes, becauseā¦ā
She paused, picking out her words carefully.
āWe love you, Lucy. And we feel the exact same way. We always want to spend time with you, regardless of what we do. You know weāll always make time for you. No matter what we end up doing, weāll have a blast anyway, because spending time with family is what makes us the happiest.ā
She pulled away from the hug in order to look Lucy in the face.
āEvery day we miss hanging out with you, too. Itās why I was so adamant on inviting you to this partyā¦if I wouldāve known you hated them so much, I wouldnāt have gone. Spending time with you together as a family is always a gazillion times more fun than some stupid party as a girl I hateās house. I just wanted to spend time with you, like we used to, I never cared about this party.ā
She scratched her neck, nervous.
āIām sorry I left you alone for so longā¦I spaced out, you know how I get when someone mentions cars.ā She faked a laugh.
āLuceā¦ā She said clearly, her tone more serious than ever.
āWe will never drift apart, not as long as weāre all together. Weāre a family.
Lucy was sort of embarrassed. She was being handled like a child by her junior sister of two years. It was supposed to be her who took care of Lana like this, but the roles were reversed.Ā
Sheās never been comforted and reassured like this, in such a physical and loving way, not even when she was upset.Ā
It felt nice.
Moving her bangs out of her eyes for the first time ever, Lana wiped away the waterfall of tears.Ā
For the first time in her life, she could finally see the world without the darkness obscuring her vision.
She could see so clearly the unconditional love and the easiness she felt in her familyās eyes. She didnāt have to worry about being forgotten, because sheād always be their sister. Sheāll always be invited to do things, sheāll always be taken in consideration.
Even when they live their own separate lives, theyāll always think of her, and sheāll think of them. Theyāll think bad fondly of old memories of her, and smile.
Just as she did in that moment.
Sensing she was calmer now, Lana carefully said;
āWanna ditch this place and walk to the library, or something? I know thatās more up your alley. And this party sucks, anyway.ā
āBut what aboutā¦ā Lucy went.
āI can text Lols to update her on the situation. She can drive her and Lis to join us at the library after she sees it.ā She laughed, āI just hope she doesnāt rage her ears off!ā
Lucy let out a small laugh herself.
She stood up from the floor, with Lana supporting her as she stumbled. She smiled to herself as they walked out of the closet, and walked the path to the front door.
As Lana talked about whatever, Lucy stared in gladness. Her sister was there for her, and she always would be. They all will be, even if they canāt be with her physically.
Theyāll always return home, like they never even left. They will catch up, reminisce, and create even more memories together.
She could keep them close to her without worry.
She will never be forgotten.
She is Lucy Loud, and she is their sister, whom theyād never wish to ever forget.Ā
Okay- I've read summer rain and I just love LOVE IT !!
I don't even know where to begin but you're seriously a good writer cause, after I finished the latest chapter I felt like I was left with a craving that I can't satisfy with anything else š«
I love how all of the boys are different types of messed up lmao at this point I can't decide who is the most sane person (the reader might be up there but- let's be fr girlie is having one sided arguments with a chicken š). It's almost like a buffet where you choose what type of red flags to ignore
And, while i still don't vibe with Jimin and Taehyung, i'm so interested to know what exactly made them that way. I mean, if there was a zombie apocalypse and society collapses, who would be able to stay sane?? So i'm really enjoying the little info you're drip feeding us about their past like: what happened to Yoongi in a forest that made him feel so unsettled by them?, what is up with Namjoon and omegas?, why did Tae spared Reader's life and haven't rat her out about seeing her hiding underneath her nest? What happened to Reader before that made her so scared of being discovered? (Ik she's said what happens to omegas but just HOW did queen become so crafty??).... I got so many questions
And sorry for the rambling but as a last little thing I love about the characters is that, just when you think someone might not be as bad, you get a glimpse that tells you there's something VERY wrong about these characters, like that scene where Namjoon and Jin first met Jungkook: boy could not be bothered with the fact that they were killing people in front of him š
...also Hoseok, I love whatever the fuck is wrong with you š¤
AHHHHGGG TYSM!!!! It means so much to me to know that my little fic has had that sort of impact on you <33 I know the feeling, like when i get super into a fic, spend all day binging it, and end up feeling like a crackhead looking for their next fic (another chapter) LMAOOO!! so to know my fic is having the same effect on other people when it rlly is just a passion project makes me so happy <333 AHG I LOVE LONG RAMBLING ASKS LIKE THIS TOO LEMME CRACK MY KNUCKLES AND DIVE IN
Heheheh I'm glad you're enjoying the characterization <33 I think with all the big personalities, it can be easy to get lost between them but I'm glad I'm distinguishing between them well. I'm of the STRONG belief you gotta be somewhat messed up to be able to survive/ want to survive in an apocalypse, so I think that carried over heavily into the fic LMAO!! I love how you comment on the reader too bc as much as we can say yeah no shes sane, shes normal.... girlie has been in essential isolation for 3 years. Her pack is a chicken and a guys voice on the radio š§āāļøš§āāļø shes def more sain than most of them, but I think she def has her quirks too!!
Bye not my fic being 50 shades of red LMAOOO IDK IM THE ONE HOLDING THE STOP SIGN SWINGING IT ROUNDDDDDDDD TELLIN YALL TO COME ON THROUGHHH
AHHH THANK YOU FOR COMMENTING ON MY DRIP MARKETING FOR THEM TEWWW OMGGG!! I I have always been a big fan of shown don't tell in writing, as well as reading between the liens and digging into the little details in fics, making up my own theories and the like. I feel like it gives fics a lot of good re-read qualities. OOo like when you go back to read something, and then you figure out a detail from like chapter 2 that relates the current one OOOOOGGGG I EAT THAT SHIT UPPPPPPP!!! So while writing this one, I def wanted to incorporate that into it! I hope I'm able to succeed in it heheh <33 I love for there to be payoff <33
You're trying to catch me off guard aren't you?! Trying to make me give you spoilers!! I see you!! (lolol I'm just playing heheh!!) I can't wait to answer all of your questions in future chapters, as well as give you new ones to think about <33 I really can't wait to get into their pasts, too. How all of the pack came together (bc trust!!! it is coming!!!! i love m little looks into the past between views in the present!!!)
All I can really reference is Namjoon, heheh <33 He just might be a bit more of a traditional alpha than he lets on, and he certainly is a little... idk if the word is obsessed, but he certainly wants an omega for himself. The exact reasons? Why he in particular has an interest in her (other than the bomb and the fact she's crafty)? I cannot say. But... again, I always think the smart ones are the scariest ^>^ he's scarier to me than hoseok if I'm being honest lololol Like, to be honest, Jimin is harmless. He's easy to please/ manipulate to doing what you want/. Hoseok is smart, but he's pretty lenient unless he's in one of his moods. Namjoon knows what you're doing before you even do yourself. Hmmm... reader and him are certainly a good match for each other, in that way, I think. They'll be good challenges for one another :DD
NEVER APOLOGISE FOR RAMBLING!!! I LOVE IT!!! iM A RAMBLER TOO!! LMAOOO PLS YOU HAVE ME GIGGLING TOO!!!! All of the guys are definitely multi facetted in that way heheh <33 Ik you don't like Tae and Jimin rn, but I hope you start to like them in the future when you get a look into their softer sides instead <33 Bc!! They might not seem like they exist rn!! But they do!! It won't come out for another few chapters, but yk lolol
Jungkook rlly saw strangers killing someone he's known since they were a kid and just cause he thought they were hot (he would say he heard bells :T) he didn't really care lolol. I can't wait to show more of all of their sides, and thank you so much for looking between the lines for all of the characters!!! I love it sm!!!
GASP!!! IM TELLING!!! @ HOSEOK @ HOSEOK !!! LOOK AT WHAT THEY SAID!! LOOK!!!! (lmaoooooooo)
No but fr fr, Hoseok is soooooooooo <333 He gets a bigger roll in the next chapter and I'm very excited about it YUM!! FUCK ME FROM THE FRONT BACK LEFT RIGHT OR WTV NJ SAIIDDD!!
Ahhhg, thank you so much for such wonderful commentary <33 I've eaten it up and devoured it like my last meal <333
Not talented at wrote learning, but picks things up quick in crisis (second part is evidenced in canon so barely even a hc)
Writes regular letters to Hunith but massively sanitises them. Refuses to say anything that would make her worry about him, ever. (She knows he does this because she knows her boy.)
First neckerchiefs were made by Hunith, then as he got older were random scraps he āmadeā himself. Uses them for temperature regulation and emotional self-soothing

Isnāt coping great in the modern era (truck scene yknow what i mean) but actually had been pretty ok throughout lots of history. again, mental health problems, but managed to heal from the grief for many centuries there. heās stronger than some people make him out to be, and i canāt believe he would really be so lost without arthur, who he knew for canonically 8-10 years, that he would never recover in 1500 years afterwards. it still hurt him at times, but thatās to be expected ā no grief ever dies, and no depression is ever fully cured. he struggles, but he usually can cope. modern era is only worse cause of the exceedingly fast pace of technological development leaving him feeling like a bit of a fish out of water, though he would be able to keep up if it werenāt for the loneliness.

dyed his hair bleach blonde at least once (billy idol fan). has since torn up every picture of himself from that time period that he knows about (sam keeps one exclusively to make fun of him. very, very, very quietly, sam actually thinks it suits dean a little bit, but he would sooner die than admit that. dean ofc doesn't know this so the embarassment stays entirely in his court)
first concert was KISS (same note as for sam T_T)
Castiel:
leaves every interaction with Dean with several new idioms and references he doesn't understand in his head (this is canon). remembers all of them and looks them up on wikipedia at his soonest convenience. if it's from a movie, will read the entire plot section, go "Huh." and then factory reset whatever computer he's using because he doesn't understand search history. (bonus: is not allowed to touch sam's computer for this exact reason)
hiii i loved your flash falling in love fanfic sm it was so cutešš
your other idea of having a scenario of him falling for a reader that's strong also seemed very interesting. could you maybe write that but with like.. a short reader? like a reader whose power doesn't match their size at all? (hero or not)
(i may be projecting on the height partš)
if not, that's ok. i just rlly like your fanfics/hcs, and i enjoy reading them a lot!! <3
Flashy flash, falling inlove? #2
Genre; fluff, hcs
Pairing; Flashy flash x reader
Short! Reader
side note; Isnāt projecting the whole point of x reader fics? š¤š¤ Iām so glad you enjoy my fics ml! I appreciate your support sm sm š
not proofread (sorry)
Flashy flash doesnāt really focus on much.
well, what I mean is: his focus rarely strays to anything but himself and his duties, which sounds slightly narcissistic but heās simply goal-oriented (and self-loving).
he merely wants to eradicate all evil and get stronger.
Truly, itās surprising when you catch his keen interest.
You were strong. Possibly as powerful as him, that was the first thing that caught his attention.
The first time he caught you using the full extent of your power, he wasnāt sure if he was jealous or completely riddled with admiration.
but first he needed to test out how truly strong you were, and what better way to do that then accompany you on one of your hero missions, respectfully inspecting you as you slay the fiends bringing terror to the innocent.
very arrogantly asking you to a duel, apparently.
Heās very⦠stuck up about it. Which obviously doesnāt sit right with you, and your first impression of him isnāt the best.
He canāt help but look down on you, literally and figuratively, because of your miniature size.
However, when you finally have your duel, whether you win or lose or you end up in a draw, he does quickly learn he shouldnāt underestimate you.
After that interaction, he starts watching you more closely, maybe whenever youāre in the same parameter, or even going out of his way to find out what your schedule is and observing you from afar .Heās very subtle about it.
That was when he started experiencing something else other than respectful curiosityā¦
Itās how easily you navigate your strength and weaknesses, the immense sense of confidence that radiated from you and the power in your every move, it just kept pulling him deeper every time he witnessed it.
He began to talk to you more often.
Heād suddenly appear whenever youāre fighting any monsters and help you defeat them, then swiftly stir the conversation so heās talking about anything that may be of interest to you, just so he can stretch out this conversation for as long as possible.
His tone is neutral and even a little cold, which fits the stoic expression on his face, so you canāt tell if he has any feelings for you.
Other people can though.
His quite oblivious to his own emotions. He just thinks youāre just another strong hero he can benefit from by being close to. Despite the fact he stares at you longer than heās stared at anything else, and the fact he often times thinks about you and what youād do, say or think in certain situations, or even the fact you give him a sense of inspiration he didnāt know he longed for.
ironically, the way it really dawns on him that he likes you, is when he catches himself adjusting how he looks on the reflection of a window before going up to talk to you.
Now that he thinks about it, heās been taking even more care of how he presents himself ever sense he started hanging around you.
He starts growing more distant after really evaluating himself.
he doesnāt want these feelings to become a distraction for him in the future. Heās still a hero with a duty and a status to maintain.
It doesnāt last very long however, because in that small period of time he realized how much you meant to him.
it irritated him tbh, and he started cursing and insulting you in his head.
But all the negative thoughts dissipated as soon as he glanced at your face. The face that never left his thoughts or dreams.
His attraction to you manifests in subtle waysā He starts to stand closer to you. He compliments you a bit more but often times itās (a little) back-handed. Whenever heās in the hero association building maybe for a meeting or such, and he catches wind that youāre there too, heās quick to ignore everyone else to look for you.
Heās still stuck-up, but heās now a more gentle, patient, considerate AND stuck-up version of himself (to you at least)
He also invites you to spar or train together every now and then, and he gets so. Incredibly. Excited. If you make time for him. ESPECIALLY IF YOUāRE THE ONE INVITING HIM TO TRAIN/SPAR.
He pretends like itās whatever, and he doesnāt care that much. But he canāt stop thinking about it, like he just keeps looking at the time and calculating how many hours, minutes, seconds are left before he meets up with you.
I can see him confessing to you in a ver stupid way, straightforward and stupid. Something that would keep him up at night because it was so embarrassing and out of the blue.
After one of your sparring sessions, maybe you two are just talking and catching your breathes. And maybe he says something⦠er, stupid likeā¦
āyou know, a lot of people are impressed by me. Obviously.ā *pauses awkwardly* āI, uh⦠i guess Iām kind of impressed by you too. Donāt let it get to your head though, when you canāt even reach my head.ā -flashy flash, with a snarky smirk.
āyour back-handed compliments are getting a bit old, flash. I canāt really tell if you actually mean them or want to get a rise out of me.ā -you
Shit.
He starts to panic internally.
and his heart starts racing.
and he gulps.
āNo- I- Sorry- Iām complimenting you! Youāre very impressive! Iām impressed!ā He blurts out loudly, his face frowning but flushed with red. You blink, surprised by the sudden switch in his demeanor.
āoh, itās fine. I wasnāt being that serious-ā -you
āI donāt think I can do this anymore, the fact is, Iām inlove with you.ā -flashy flash
āWha-ā
The confession is so bizarre, you burst out laughing.
heās very flustered when you do, and is a little hurt, thinking you may be making fun of him.
How he is in a relationship with youā¦
In public, he doesnāt really do much. Just makes an effort to be around you when he can, and tells you to stay safe whenever both of you have to part ways.
but behind closed doors, heās like a new person.
Heās soft and gentle with you, holding you, caressing you, kissing you. Everything.
did I mention that heās very good with words? Heās very good with words. He tries to charm you constantly, reiterating his devotion to you with a new set of vocabulary each time.
He teases you as much as he sweet talks you though. Especially when it comes to your height.
He doesnāt mind your height difference, but he does find it kind of adorable. The way you crane your neck to look up at him, of how you can slip through small spaces thanks to your size, and how it sometimes helps you with being flexible in battle. But most of all, he likes when you have to stand on your toes and pull him by his collar to kiss him.
if you steal his clothes, heāll complain and act annoyed, but he adores seeing you wear them. Theyāre so big on, but thatās what makes it so nice, itās like a part of him is able to protect you. (In a strange/unique way)
Heāll gift you one of his favorite shirts/hoodies and drench it in his cologne. And will say something like āYou steal it so much you might as well just have it. My god, youāre such a hassle.ā
He likes giving you pet names like, āgorgeousā or fucking āsweetheartā or maybe even āsweetnessā, or the typical āloveā, ādarlingā. Heās very diverse.
When heās feeling cocky heāll call you ātinyā or āshort stuffā (corny ass)
Just loves spending time with you and generally watching you do stuff.
sitting in your presence is simply intoxicating to him, it provides him with such tranquility heās never known in his life.
Youāll catch him warmly smiling at you a lot.
He does worry about you sometimes if youāre assigned a dangerous mission, heās confident in your abilities but that doesnāt mean he isnāt afraid you might get hurt. Heāll send you a short text like āhey, you alright? Call me when youāre doneā and heāll check his phone constantly throughout the day.
when you finally text/call him, heāll breath a sigh of relief then pretend he wasnāt worried in the slightest.
to celebrate this little milestone, i hosted a Q&A a while back! š you guys sent in some of the sweetest, funniest, and most random questionsāand i gathered them all here!
so now, as promised, hereās a collection of some of my questions and answers from the celebration. scroll down for a peek into the chaos that lives rent-free in my brain!
ąŖāā“š 1 message from @nensi: so if you could become best at one thing that you can't rlly do, what would it be? (ik its random af but ye)
a: okay hear me out, if i could be the best at something i totally canāt do right now, itād 100% be cooking. like actually being good at it, not just following a tiktok recipe and hoping for the best. iāve always admired people who can just throw things together and make it taste amazing. meanwhile, when i was younger, i got left alone in the kitchen for like 20 minutes and nearly burned the house down (not even joking TT). i was so scared of the stove, forgot how it worked, and somehow things just⦠exploded into chaos. so yeah, being a great cook sounds amazing, but right now iām still very much at the āsetting off the smoke alarm with toastā stage ą“¦ąµą“¦ą“æ ĖĶĢź³ĖĶĢ )
ąŖāā“š 1 message from @claralance: okay so of all the bllk boys, who do you find easiest and hardest to write and why?
a: omg wait i love this question. easiest for me? weirdly enough, its the eyelashes siblings aka the itoshis. like, both rin and sae just click in my head for some reason. maybe itās because theyāre so emotionally repressed that it gives me endless space to project and unpack their inner drama LMAO. anyway, thereās js always something simmering beneath the surface with them, so itās fun peeling back those layers.
but the hardest?? hands down shidou. i love him, heās unhinged, chaotic, and feral, but trying to write him with emotional depth?? drag me down pls. like iām currently working on an angst request for him in my carnival event and my brain is just doing cartwheels. heās the type of character that feels like heās constantly laughing at me while i try to figure him out. ITS A STRUGGLE FR
ąŖāā“š 1 message from @ohagiyoo: b v honest here ok if ur a fan of strawberry shortcake who is ur fav character... AND ALSO HOW DO U UPLOAD SO CONSISTENTLY š
a: okay iām being so real rn okayy? so my favorite strawberry shortcake character has always been blueberry muffin! thereās just something about her quiet confidence and cozy bookish-baker energy that makes me feel so at home?? like sheās the type to bake blueberry scones, make tea, and give solid advice without ever raising her voice. i also have such a soft spot for lucy from peanuts! yk what i think iāve always loved strong female characters who are a little misunderstood and kind of bossy but have a big heart buried underneath <3
anyway as for how i upload so consistently⦠DONT SLEEP (jk but also not really LOL). truth is, i have so many thoughts at any given time itās almost ridiculous. iāve been called a 'yapper' all my life because i literally canāt stop storytelling in some form. some of my background in writing includes doing journalism since i was 10, also joined competitions, so writing kind of just became my way of sorting through everything going on in my head. some people have even said iām good at songwriting too TT, which is such a fun random skill to have! like in 8th grade, we were tasked to write a christmas song, and i ended up writing the whole thing in one car ride home from school. i think because of all that, writingās always felt like second nature to me, so even if iām not posting, iām always writing something behind the scenes. itās chaotic but i love it. ā”
ąŖāā“š 1 message from ry: if you could turn back time, what gift would you give your younger self for their birthday? (can be taken literally or metaphorically šāāļø)
a: if i could turn back time, iād give my younger self two things: the best noise-cancelling headphones and a really good drawing tablet. the headphones because, honestly, SHE NEEDS TO HEAR SOME OF MY FAV SHOEGAZE ARTISTS RN SO SHE WOULDN'T MISS OUT LOL. anyway, i think having even a little bit of peace back then wouldāve helped her hear her own thoughts better. and the drawing tablet? because she was always sketching ideas on the backs of notebooks, math quizzes, whatever paper she could find. she didnāt really believe her art or her stories were good enough, but maybe if she had the right tools earlier, she wouldāve taken herself more seriously. iād want her to know that her creativity wasnāt just a phase or a hobby, that it was a real, important part of who she is. and she didnāt need permission to make things that mattered to her :)
ąŖāā“š 5 messages from @jasminesocks:
so i checked my bed this morning and?? u werenāt there? care to fix that?
a: bold of you to assume i didnāt notice the empty space beside me too⦠wanna do something about it or should i keep dreaming? š
hypothetically speaking, if i forged your signature on a marriage certificate⦠would you be mad?
a: hypothetically speaking⦠if i forged your signature on a marriage certificate, would you be mad or just finally show up for our honeymoon? š¤Øš š
okay okay ill stop fooling around now, heres a real question: whats ur type (and why is it me)?
a: okay okay iāll be serious for once, my type is someone who cooks, cleans, and is painfully attentive⦠so yeah, i guess it is you. hate when you're right but love that you're mine š
any music you've been really into lately?
a: any music iāve been really into lately? honestly, i've been deep in my emotional indie bag lately broo, like lots of clairo (yes, ābagsā is also on loop for me, weāre synced fr), mitski, and a sprinkle of phoebe bridgers! also been revisiting older stuff like jeff buckley and fleetwood mac too. oh, and queen? always a classic. i blast āsomebody to loveā like itās my anthem lmfaooo
ANY WRITING TIPS?? AND LIKE HOW DO U DO IT? TELL ME NAT. HOW ARE U ABLE TO WRITE WITH A PULSE SO RAW IT LEAVES BRUISES IN THE SHAPE OF YOUR WORDS donāt stab me in the heart without a shred of mercy, only to apologise afterwards, you coward. wield your blade and own it. āoopsie got a bit too silly there uwu!ā SHUT UP YOU MADE ME BAWL MY EYES OUT. IM PRETTY SURE I MET GOD??
a: omg girl CALM DOWN šš sanest sevarchive reader reaction fr lol. btw i'm framing this. but real talk, my tip in general is js to immerse yourself. like deep dive into media: books, kdramas, movies, documentaries, ao3 tags you shouldnāt be in, goodol wattpad⦠thatās literally where 90% of my ideas are born. i just sponge it all up and then let it bleed out in writing.
if you want to write painful stuff on the other hand, you have to be willing to go where it hurts. start with honesty. donāt try to dress the emotion up or make it sound poetic right away. just sit with it. write it how it feels in your chest and understand that the prettiness can come later, but the truth has to bleed through first.
okay but i also want say this with love: you're not here to protect your reader. you're not their emotional support author. if the story hurts, that means itās doing what itās supposed to. youāre not being cruel, youāre being real. and sometimes being real means ripping hearts out a little and respectfully. with care.
and if someone messages you after crying, saying āhow dare you,ā you smile, say āyouāre welcome,ā and then you do it again. šš /j but not really.
ąŖāā“š 1 message from @yoichiin: what does your writing process look like?
a: omg first of all, thank you so much for that mini message š„¹ i put so much heart into my stories, and hearing that someone connects with them like that makes it all feel worth it. thank you for celebrating this with me <3
anyways as for my writing process, it usually starts with me dumping every thought and feeling onto a page. no structure or any sort of timeline, and sometimes itās dialogue, sometimes itās a specific emotion or scene, or even a line that popped into my head randomly. once itās all there, I start piecing it together and shaping it into something with flow and pacing (flow state???)
alsooo i try not to aim for a perfect first draft because that mindset slows me down. instead, I write like Iām just talking to someone about the idea, like a friend sitting next to me. getting it down is more important than getting it right. thereās always time to go back and polish things after.
thenn this might sound cheesy/odd but reading out loud is a big part of my revision process. it helps me catch what doesnāt sound natural or what feels off emotionally. if i stumble while reading it, then it probably needs to be clearer or stronger. i also think a lot about who iām writing for, what kind of feeling i want to leave them with, or what kind of moment they might need to hear. and honestly, one of the biggest things that shaped how i write was just immersing myself in stories. as i said before, immerse yourself in all kinds of media!! every story teaches something new about character, emotion, or pacing. some of my best ideas come from consuming something and thinking, ābut what if it went this way instead?ā
if youāre writing from a place that feels real to you, and you're staying curious, youāre already doing the most important part. keep going and i seriously canāt wait to see how you grow as an writer. youāve got something special so keep creating :))
ąŖāā“š 1 message from anonymous user: if you could pick 3 blue lock characters and force them into one room to talk to each other, who would u choose and why?
a: if i could trap three characters in a room, itās barou, kunigami, yukimiyaāand me, obviously. donāt be ridiculous. iām not missing that. iāll be sitting there with my soul leaving my body in slow-mo as barouās veins pop while he crosses his arms, kunigami smiles with those arms that could bench press me, and yukimiya adjusting his glasses and i'd literally die at the spot.
theyād just be existingābreathingāand iād be on the floor, clutching my chest like ātake me now.ā like yes, your honor, i gazed too long. yes, i ascended. yes, let me die under yukimiyaās cheekbones, kunigamiās forearms, and barouās criminal glare. this would be a funeral. and iāll be the happiest corpse alive.
aaaaand thatās a wrap on all the questions! thank you for the love, the chaos, and the wildly specific questions that made me spiral (in the best way). this was so fun to answer frr and iām genuinely so grateful to be surrounded by people who let me be unhinged and sentimental at the same time. hereās to more writing, more brainrot, and many more qnas where i emotionally black out over fictional men. ź°į¢. .į¢ź±ā”
