So all this "poor Sun Oh" discourse got me to do it, I actually went back and watched the entire 1st season of Love Alarm.

1: It is sooo long. This could have been 6 episodes.

2: Sun Oh's behavior is worse than I remember.

3: This "bromance" everyone is mourning ... is not what y'all remember. Sun Oh is actually pretty manipulative from the jump, it is not cute, and Hye Young deserved better than to have his years of love for his friend so cruelly thrown back in his face like that.

4: The Badge Club is the antithesis of love and celebrating it or participating in it is a huge red flag. It belongs in Black Mirror along with this app.

5: The only character with a loving and supportive family is Hye Young. His mother rocks and it must have been so hard to be married to that murdering sociopath we meet in Season 2 .

6: That song is a banger.

7: Do siblings really inherit each other's debts in Korea? I know there is a huge problem with debt but this seems extreme.

8: Are the clouds made by airplanes or can Duk-gu also control the weather and is choosing not to? It would be quite the meta-commentary if this fictional society possessed the tech to possibly fix climate change and instead chooses to use it to advertise a dystopian app that tells humans how to love. But that's probably a leap too far, even for me.

9: I sympathize with Duk-gu, but the show makes clear his Season 1 crush on Gul-mi is based on how pretty she is, and nothing else about her. (Her behavior is extremely cruel, she isn't required to return Duk-gu's affection, but her treatment of him is a horror) Not all attractions that ring Love Alarm are based on emotionally sound or even lasting foundations and the show seeds this from the early episodes.

10: This tech is the devil and it is a reflection of how desperate for instant gratification and validation the writers feel people are that they made this fictional society embrace it so whole heartedly, despite its invasion of their private feelings. In Season 1 and Season 2, the characters that are capable of functioning without Love Alarm are the ones that do well and grow happy. Those that cannot extricate themselves from depending on it's promise of security and guaranteed love will suffer for it.
