Untitled Vampire Romcom is 70k!!!
Accusations
Donar spied the emerald as soon as Kireen did. He stepped forward and scooped it up unceremoniously.
“This is it, let us return to the elf man and get our pay.” Even as he said it, he began to transfer the coins into his pack. He only stopped when he heard the hiss of a sword coming out of a scabbard.
Kireen stood behind him, a sword at his back. “Put the coins down,” her voice trembled with barely restrained rage. “Why,” he said flatly but his hands were still, a few coins motionless in his palm.
“Because I don’t trust you. Sadie dies and you have nothing to say about it? All you care about is the money. How do I know you didn’t kill Sadie yourself just so you could take her share?” the tip of Kireen’s sword wobbles in the air.
“You saw her wounds. They were done by leeches not me. I had my own wounds from the leeches,” he slowly continued to put coins into his pack “just because someone died does not mean these coins lose their value.”
Kireen bared her teeth but his logic was sound “fine but I carry the emerald.”
Wordlessly, Donar removed the stone from his pack and held it on an outstretched palm. As Kireen took it she looked up and saw K’lai’a’la slowly lowering her bow which she had knocked and pointed at Donar’s back. Kireen gave her a nod which K’lai’a’la returned. When Donar was finally finished with the coins the three of them left the corpses and took a slow march through the forest, which seemed a lot less bright than when they first entered as a group of four.

Finished the first 15 chapters of draft 4 🎉🎉🎉
I think I'm getting better!
Mango lemonade. Forgotten but long awaited for Ghibli movies. Neil Gaiman and every bit of strange comfort that comes from his work. Learning that writing can be mine too. The Dark Tower. Sweltering cobblestones with bodies beneath. Ice cream at Leopold's. A red truck becoming mine. Melting into cricket song and fresh sheets. Hot soup in July. Playlists and a new library card. Half-finished homework. More water; less soda. Meditation. Spotting deer and stopping in the middle of the road to see them better. Wonder Woman. Scrawling "Light" chapters wherever they'll fit. My therapist telling me she knew I had it in me, that she's proud of me. I look older and I like it. Thunder and lighthouses. No more ruins.
Summer 2017
Wrote today on my mermen. 2358 on the chapter. 14,045 on the story. I had a really hard time focusing today, mainly because I kept thinking about how I needed to do shopping today and I couldn’t because they had a power outage. Now I’m going to go try to do that, even though I really, really, don’t want to.
Honestly though, I can’t wait to finish this story. I want to edit it. I want to see about getting more than one person to be a set of eyes on it, and I want to post it. If it’s loved enough, I will write more in the world. I love how it’s shaping up around me, and I know so much about the world, that I *want* to write more. I’m really proud of how I’ve been improving writing wise.
My day consisted of opening a word doc, staring at the assignment sheet and procrastinating with movies, tv, and tumblr.
A big improvement from last week when I skipped the first two steps.
