and now for something a little different!

this weekend, @naturallydark and i came up with a few themes for a lil inscryption-themed art/writing event for spooky month: Inscryptober! we originally conceived it for our little inscryption server on discord, but i thought it would be fun to open it up to everyone in this fandom!

since we at least are pretty darn busy these days, we’ve got one theme per week, and how much you choose to produce for each week is entirely up to you! i’ll probably end up doing one art piece per week myself haha

with that all said, i’m really excited to see if this little event inspires some of you all! if you’d like to join our discord server you can find it right here, but as i said you don’t have to join to participate! all are welcome ^^

Inscryptober

Week 1 (Oct 3 - 9) - Natural/Artificial: Starting off simple! This theme refers to embracing or subverting the juxtaposition of natural and artificial aesthetics within Inscryption

Week 2 (Oct 10 - 16) - Time Warp: This theme can refer to a lot of things time-related! Possibilities include putting Inscryption’s characters in other time periods, or alternate endings and events

Week 3 (Oct 17 - 23) - Crossover: It’s what it says on the tin! This week is your time to insert characters into other fandoms, or have the world of Inscryption cross paths with another

Week 4 (Oct 24 - 31) - Holiday: It’s spooky hours! Time for the Inscryption Halloween special. Go nuts!

Special note: Inscryption’s anniversary is on the 19th of the month! Prepare something special if you wish ^^

Just some indulgent ADHD Jaskier with a tiny side of geraskier

Jaskier stared down at the pill bottle in his hands. It seemed ridiculous how conflicted he felt over taking one little pill, but since being diagnosed with ADHD and getting his prescription he had been fighting a war with himself. So many days he’d gone without taking them, days when seemingly simple tasks felt impossible. Just getting out of bed and moving around, dressing himself, taking care of his hygiene, even eating seemed like a battle he had already lost before it had begun. Days when medication would have made it so much easier to function, but a chorus of I shouldn’t need it blasted on repeat in his head. He could still hear his mother’s obnoxious voice after he’d told her about his diagnosis, telling him that ADHD wasn’t real, that doctors just wanted to get him hooked to medication to drain his wallet, that they would turn him into someone he wasn’t.

Not that she liked who he really was to begin with.

Jaskier glanced up at the fridge, at the magnetic note pad with messy writing. New Years Resolutions, with “take medication” at the top of the list. He knew it would be good for him. He knew his life would be easier, less chaotic, less challenging, on his meds. And still he questioned him.

“Hey,” Geralt came up behind him and wrapped him in a loose hug. “You can do this.” 

Jaskier took a deep breath, popped the bottle, and swallowed a little blue pill down with water.

“I can do this,” he repeated, hoping his brain would internalize those words. Geralt kissed the back of his neck, warm breath brushing against his kiss.

“I’m so proud of you.”
