Here's a quick thought. I think the centipede looking thing is actually a root and stem.
The flower, the tree Ymir entered, the water she fell into, and this root are all related to how she got her titan powers (the origin of the titans).
In order to back up my thoughts I looked for examples of a root and stem and these images are what I found.
Isayama has always made it a point to show us the trees (ch 1, ch 120, and forest of giant trees) and attention has also been given to the purple flowers shown in the anime. Even Armin noticed something about the flower. And then we have the parallel between Ymir and Zeke before they enter paths. Both of them see a flowers.
Also, there's Krugers words about Ymir getting into contact with all organic matter. Which I think is evident in chapter 122. Taking all these into consideration, I think it makes the most sense for that centipede looking thing to be a root.
Anyway, I'm sorry if this post is not well thought out. I don't really have the time to go into full blown theory mode right now, but I really wanted to get this off my mind. This chapter kinda confirmed what I've been thinking about for the longest time.
On the 31st of October when we were wandering the aisles of Target I asked if we were going directly home afterwards. Murble gave an open ended ~the world is our oyster~, “Well..?!?” and I was just trying to figure out if it was a good time to get a pint of chocolate peanut butter ice cream but I said, “I guess we are unencumbered and could go anywhere we want. We should drive to New York and Oregon. not today though. I’m tired and we should hand out some of this candy we are buying.”
I didn’t get ice cream.
A few days later I asked, “are you doing Thanksgiving or can we run away?”
“Oh...We, (the Aunts) did talk about Thanksgiving.”
“What was talked about?”
“like, you bring the green beans, you bring this. I’ll do the turkey.”
“UGH. we could have called my dad to bring UncleDucey a sack of hot sandwiches and been on a train on Thanksgiving. serving no one. a burden to no one. We could have been in a convenience store parking lot feasting on bag pickles and corn nuts!”
“You’re right. I’m sorry I suffer from such a lack of imagination.”
What's your favorite part of the GoT books? I'm apologizing now if I end up spamming you with asks about GoT.
No apologies necessary! I love getting asks almost as much as I love getting comments on my stories <3
I absolutely love Petyr’s humor in the books, and it makes me sad that they didn’t really include that aspect in the show. I also love how Jaime changes so much, from a character I initially hated to one I really like now. And Tyrion’s chapters. And I love how I also slowly grew to love Sansa as well, because she is so much more than she seems when the story starts out. I confess I don’t care for the Iron Islands subplot at all, and I hate Cersei’s chapters (I just despise her), but the rest are just soo good.
