09.06.17 Journal
So yesterday was very refreshing. I was focused, got down to business, finished the hard thing that I didn’t want to do but I did do it and now I feel even farther ahead down my path than I was 48 hours ago. Remember that feeling. The big humps, obstacles, challenges - when you’ve defeat them, you come out the other end a must stronger warrior. I want that high everyday. So today I return to work - it’s not going to be that hard of a day. I work with my two favorite employees and it’s not our busiest day. I do plan on my down time to read emails which will hopefully propel me further down my path.
Note to self - I want to merge my social media accounts, or at least delete the less important ones and make sure I have a single subscriber list. I tried a thing a while back to make accounts that were separate - one for enjoyment and one for betterment. That’s the stupidest idea I’ve ever had. Getting better should be enjoyable, and if I separate the two, I’m creating this idea in my head that it takes work to do what I want to do. Never again. Never again.
Right after I finish doing this I’m going to go and do some yoga. I want to remember and live by my plan that I set for myself this week - make it so that I don’t have to reset my goals. I need to stick to what I want and not fall off. I’m allowed rest, I’m allowed to stumble, but I have to get right back on the horse. After work I plan on stopping by Planet Fitness to see if I can sign up for a membership. It’s time to get crazy. It’s time to actually do something.
Later, once I return, I just want to focus on my blog, resume, and wix. Those are major challenges that I’ve been putting off, and why wait any longer? My plan for tomorrow before work is to actually begin some Social Media Manager work - to post and create and schedule like it’s my job. I’m here, I’m ready to begin. It’s been a long time since I feel like I’ve finished enough preparation to be ready to just go all in on something. It’s amazing. But I’m also building this up so much. I need to take a step back.
I think this is what I need to point out as my flaw - I over exaggerate. I’m thinking this is going to change everything, and it might, and most likely will if I stay committed. But I think in my head any small achievement appears to be such an amazing accomplishment and I’ve done something monument but at the first sight of disappointment, I feel let down and then I second guess.
So let’s settle in that for a moment. Let’s refocus. I’m full of energy. I am so excited for what may come. I will not lie about that. But I will not assume a certain outcome. Just because I went all in the last two days doesn’t mean my work is over. I am lazy, I understand. But it’s going to take more of it. I already knew I could sit down and persevere in short bursts. Can I do it for the long term? Because I’m going to have to. That’s the life I’m choosing. I’m going to have to put in the work and the time from here on out. I’ve done enough lounging. I’m rested. I’m primed. Time to use that and go somewhere new. Here I am world, bring it.
Good pep top. That’s my reminder for the day. These last two days felt great but that was short term gratification. They meant nothing. It’s time to focus and feel great the next day, and the next day.
Everyday should be its own reward. Don’t hold onto the accomplishments of yesterday. I’m like a zen master.
