I'm a very picky eater. But sometimes I just don't understand why. I've got some really picky eating habits, but I don't really understand why I'm so picky.
For example: I only eat french fries if we get them from a fast food place. Frozen french fries or ones made at home never taste good. If food has blackened or charred segments on it, I refuse to eat it (and wretch imagining myself eating ashes). I only eat cheese if it's mixed in with something else so much so that there's another taste overpowering it. Pure cheese and dairy on it's own...it didn't bother me once, now it makes me sick. Not literally, since I'm not lactose intolerant. But I just hate all dairy except for certain subsections (like butter and stuff).
I eat sandwiches that are just meats and buns. I typically eat pizza by picking all the toppings off and then eating everything else. I like stew but despise 90% of soups. I don't get a lot of vegetables and fruits. Sometimes I'll eat broccoli, apples, pears, carrots, edamame beans, corn, pineapple or a few other different variations. But although I will eat them, that doesn't mean I remember to eat them! I eat like 1 bowl of crackers and 2 cookies a day, and I can only be bothered to remember fruit and vegetables occasionally. I'm doing better than years ago, but I'm still not good.
Oh! And mint makes me feel sick, so I brush my teeth with watermelon flavoured children's toothpaste. I've been doing that since I was like 4, and I'm lucky they still make the stuff. Because I can't do mint. I just...I can't brush my teeth with it.
My diet isn't great. And I do eat a lot. If I'm not eating, I'm biting at my nails. I suppose I could have an oral fixation or something, I've never cared to examine it too deeply. But considering I've made it to 21 without incident, I'd like to hope I'm going along decently.
