How do we feel about a quirk awakening for Hitoshi because of Katsuki being in danger?
Ok but like, I like to imagine/headcannon that despite being such a hero, Mario feels a a lot of pressure from his role.
Like the guy is always seen as the solution whenever someone or something is a threat to the Mushroom Kingdom.
I mean, he's been through so much, which includes going through the galaxies (technically twice) and having his own brother turned against him into the harbinger of the apocalypse.
So how could he not, when knowing that he's their hope? When in his mind and literally, the Kingdom depends on him.
Think of it kinda like Luisa from Encanto with her pressure.
Now put that onto Mario.
He just doesn't want to let anyone down or be seen as a failure. Because not only would he fail, his failure/letting them down would lead to his loved ones to get hurt.
So he just pushes through it, and does his best to hide how he's really feeling. Because if he doesn't, it'll be a sign of weakness. And he doesn't want them to see him be weak, he's supposed to be their strong hero.
To add to this, I also like to think that he feels guilty that he's gotten captured (three but technically 4) times by King Boo.
He doesn't want to be a burden to Luigi, so whenever he encounters King Boo or a swarm of boos, he's determined to fight back and thinks he can do it, only to be proven wrong (again and again) when he gets placed in a painting.
Mario probably gets frustrated at himself for not being able to defeat them in the same way he can easily defeat other enemies he's ran into.
Although he probably doesn't want to admit it. All of it. He doesn't want Luigi to get worried for him.
Hc that sometimes when Pangi comes back he keeps finding that Lukey has fallen asleep in the lab in the most unconventional places.
It had started fairly normal with Lukey falling asleep at his desk while he had been poring over his notes - multiple books sprawled across the surface made a relatively comfortable pillow if you'd asked him. Or with him falling asleep in Donut's pen — Lukey had been cuddling Donut the night before and before he even realized the warmth of the fireplace and the coziness of Donut's fur had lulled him to sleep.
But then Pangi keeps finding him tucked in the most random corners - in the chest rooms, or behind the brewing potions or in the pillow room beneath the test tube. It's not until Pangi finds him asleep on the cold glass of the living quarters, tucked against the stairs that led to the small loft that hosts "a literal bed Lukey why didn't you use that?",
That Pangi laughs and semi-chides him calling him a hamster who keeps going to the most inconvenient spots to sleep. And Lukey does his iconic "hey!" and grumbles about the hamster allegations yet accepts them chuckling this time.
Because Lukey doesn't have the heart to tell Pangi that after being forced to sleep in a cold test tube for years and years — sometimes the cold calls you home. And sometimes comfort isn't about the softest bed — but about the freedom of being able to choose when and where to sleep.
Tyranny and Wic both saying that her sleeping at the foot of his bed and him putting something warm over her is like any other night for them.

Every character in TMA is a tragedy in their own way but I think Gertrude's tragedy is often overlooked. She effectively spent her entire life stopping rituals. She never let anyone get close to her. I don't think she ever even trusted anyone. Every relationship she had was carefully monitored to make sure she didn't reveal too much to the wrong person, because in her position, any mistake could lead to a sudden, unpleasant death, or worse, the end of the world. And as she went on as the archivist, she watched so many of her assistants die that she seemed to be numb to it, though I don't think she truly was. When she had to sacrifice Michael, and then lost Sarah and had to kill Emma not long after, she never took another official assistant after that. She'd never admit it, but the effect that had on her seems pretty clear. The way she's described by the catalogue when Gerry dies, "there was almost sadness in her eyes," just speaks to me of someone so tired of losing people that the pain becomes distant. It has to, otherwise it all comes crashing in at once, every single loss compounding on all that came before it, and there's no time for grief when you're the archivist. And in the end she died alone, and as far as we're aware, no one cared until the mystery of her death became pertinent to stopping the next ritual. Her fate wasn't that different from Gerry or Michael: a dead voice left behind to guide the new archivist on his path.
