A FRIEND AND I'S STEVEN UNIVERSE AU CHARACTERS.

Steven Universe has been my favourite show since 2019 when I properly watched it from start to finish. I remember crying when I realized it was over, it was such a beautiful show that has forever lived in my heart.

I created this Future AU in October 2023 with a close friend who had also fallen in love with the franchise. I created Tous/Peridot, and soon after, my friend came to me with this outstanding creative idea for a character of her own. That's when I helped her design Opalite, a one of her kind artificially made gem prototype. The AU I set quite a while after the death of Steven himself.

A very brief rundown of the AU:

Opalite was artificially made by the Diamonds through a new project process that was left to be developed by tech gems (like peridots) way back — a bit before pink diamond was announced shattered. With the late Era 1 materials they had, it was designed to use artificial materials for creating gems rather than using the minerals from organic planets. This would allow gems to be made on Homeworld with 100% designed perfection, and no loss of their decreasing materials along with other reasons to soon be discovered. 

The project was forgotten about through the SU saga until years after the man himself perished. It was discovered again during White Diamond’s overpowering thirst for a new era of conquering.

Opalite, the long-forgotten prototype design was already prepared to be tested…

Through the story she meets and becomes close to Tous — a funky little peridot who helps Opalite discover who she is in this empire, and universe.

During the story, Tous and Opalite end up fusing. The before and after story is… lengthy so use your imagination for now. They become the beautiful Labradorite.

Along with Opalite living as a high-class gem, she was given a pearl to take care of her. I don’t currently have a design for her :(

My personal biggest red flag that I see on Tumblr, regardless of the fandom that I’m focused on that day, is when I see a post about how two characters have “sibling energy”. I’ve been on this site for so long that my first reaction to seeing this kind of post is to assume the poster doesn’t actually have siblings.

It’s mainly because a lot of times (not every time, just most of the time), the two characters that supposedly have sibling energy clearly have a romantic interest in each other. It gets even worse when the evidence for the “sibling energy” are things that actual siblings wouldn’t do but two people who are romantically interested in each other would do.

Just as an example of what I’m talking about, I remember seeing this post about how the user was confused that Robert and Invisigal of Dispatch were intended to be a potential pairing since they thought they had a sibling connection. Just as a reminder, in their first meeting in the game, even if this was said jokingly, Invisigal said that Robert made her wet. As someone who actually has a sister, if my sister made that joke to me, she would need to have a long, uncomfortable talk with our parents.

Sailor Moon - Ikuko Tsukino

Ikuko is voiced by Sanae Takagi in the Sailor Moon 90s anime and by Yūko Mizutani in Sailor Moon Crystal (S1-3) Wakana Yamazaki (Season 5)

In the Sailor Moon live action series PGSM, Ikuko is portrayed by Kaori Moriwaka.

She was mentioned in the musical 30th Anniversary Musical Festival Chronicle.

Ikuko is named after Naoko Takeuchi's mother.
