I have been in CT for a total of 3 hours and i'm pretty sure i've already done more music research related to my career and the career of those around me than i've done in the last MONTH in my un-inspiring, boring hometown of Lakewood, NJ.
Now alot of people may not know it but I'm an artist and the Representative of an Indie Label Called I'mOnIt Entertainment. Now i'm not gonna sit here & pose like i'm somebody, because like A MILLION unsigned and indie artists, I'm not, but UNLIKE many of those same artists, i'm not afraid to admit that I'm not shit in the public's eye because it may "deter me from my goals", infact saying it invigorates me to work harder.
For the past 3 years I've been learning alot about business and music alike and i honestly can say i'm at a point where the business side fascinates me more than the music does, while the music use to be my sole focus for a good 5+ years.
Well now here I am, 2 mixtapes later, getting ready to finish up my first album and really get into the business aspect, and to get into the mode i'm making a temporary move to CT (for about 6 months to a year) to get away from the world I know and focus on learning the black and white of legalities in business along side my sister who is a practicing lawyer.
Currently i'm here simply for "vacation purposes" this weekend, so the move hasn't started yet, but after arriving at midnight I immediately started doing research. Crazy thing is that I had nothing in particular to look at, i simply read one thing...then another....and boom 3 a.m with tabs open on different info and i had no intention to even get into anything music/business related tonight!
If this is a prelude of whats to come, i really do look forward to moving here for a little while and getting focused :).
