He didn’t bring his umbrella and he’s already regretting leaving the house in the first place. “‘Lo?” Oscar’s sleepy voice answers finally. Lando feels a pang of jealousy and something else at the fact that Oscar’s already in bed; blames that for the whiny tone of his voice when he says, “I’m only just on my way home and I’m starving.” Luckily, Oscar’s a nice flatmate. The best, in fact. “I’ll make you a sandwich or something,” he says mid-yawn. “Ham?” Down the line, Lando can hear the rustling of sheets like Oscar is getting out of bed, ready to go and make good on his word. He’s so nice it’s painful sometimes. Not painful enough that Lando is willing to sacrifice the sandwich he’s promised, though. “Please,” he pleads miserably, crossing the road. “I’ll be, like. Ten minutes.” “Okay.” He’s starting to feel slightly bad about waking Oscar up, considering how exhausted the other sounds. But then Oscar mutters, “I’ll go sort it, ok? Love you, bye.” and hangs up the phone. In the middle of the street, Lando stops abruptly, drawing is own phone away and staring at it with a blank expression. Love you, bye. Love you, bye. What the hell was that?
