Sam:  We have Marie-France here because, Marie-France, Nikolaj was one of your first students here. Marie-France: He was, yeah. Sam: So how was it to see him grow like in the past few years Marie-France: He showed up with his suitcase, I was pregnant to there, it was great! Sam: Billie, salut! Marie-France: My daughter's almost 10, so that's how long he's been here Nik: Whenever I forget how long I've been in Montreal, I just have to ask how old Billie is, and I know exactly.

Nik: When I moved with Marie and Patch, they saw me on the 21st of December. I had come up, I was from Connecticut before, training with my previous coach, and I came up on the 21st, and we had a meeting, and when I came back on the 26th, I arrived, and the coaches wasn’t really sure we were moving, and I just arrived with my luggage, and I said I’m here. And Marie was like, Marie had had given, you know, she gave birth on the 24th of December.

Lilah: Oh gosh

Nik: So everything happened very fast. So like the 26th it was like ok, I moved here.

Patrice Lauzon on motivation

Jamal: Patrice, how do you deal with that on the ice? How do you in daily training motivate your skaters in this time of the unknown?

Patrice: Actually, it’s a great opportunity for everybody to go back on their love of skating and training. Personally for me, when I skated, i liked training better than I liked competing, so it’s very easy to me to connect to that and help the skater connect to it. And training the ability to have- finally have some more times to be able to just work on skating skills and stroking, find new elements, explore new ideas for choreography. I think It became a great opportunity and - that we would not have had. Like usually skaters, we spend our times..and coaches we spend our times preparing for the next competition, and then we always feel the next competition is coming in too quickly, and we don’t have time to explore. So this is- I - for me it’s been easy to motivate myself. I know for some skaters the more- the harder place is preparing for a competition even knowing it might not happen, or the competition might happen, but you’re gonna know two weeks before. It’s- that part is a little bit more challenging. But we try to keep the more.. overall season then next season in perspective. And the work that you’re doing in getting ready to - for a competition if it’s gonna happen, it’s not gonna go away even if the competition doesn’t happen. It’s been fun.

Jamal: Can you tell us what is IAM Live?

Romain: So IAM Live, so we were, we were back on ice, all our skaters were back on ice here in Montreal the 15th of June, so we have still during the summer we have worked a lot. We've made new programs, new elements, new choreography. Even the program we kept, in particular the rhythm dance for most of the teams, we have changed it a lot, so what you are going to see is a regular practice.

When after the period of the summer, it's time for us, the team of coaches, to see how it looks in a big section in run through, and so basically it's for us, it's a work and you are going to- don't expect to see a competition or a show or something. We did not prepare, it's just the next step after the summer- how to say, the work of the- we have done all the summer. So it won't be perfect. It won't be - there is some lift missing maybe, some transition. it's not safe, but for us the coaches, it's how we are. It's from an event like that we usually do. We are building, the step by step the performance to, to be ready for the future competition.

So yes, it's a practice-  no costume. Just we, we want to show you the how difficult is ice dance, how physical it is. And with the help of Jordan, who is going to film the, the skaters in every angle, we want to show like also a three dimension performance. And so you will be able to, to see from very close the the nice thing they do, the nice thing that we all created, but also the maybe some mistake and the, the thing we, we are going to adjust in the future.

And yes Jordan, we asked Jordan to come because us, the team of Montreal, we are coaches, we are skating school. We are not a production, but for the skaters, it was important, i think to, to have a moment to, to show what they can do. and that's why we, we contact Jordan.
