Tall Trees was a favourite of many from my last album, Fledgling, but did you know that it was originally written because I'd forgotten to get my mother a birthday present!? It was the day of her birthday when I remembered so I rushed to get a guitar in my co-writer, Eli's hands and we wrote this song faster than any song I've ever written. Writing about my mother and how much she means to me came so naturally. I have a very good relationship with my parents. They're both so inspirational and caring. Did a super cute photoshoot with @alexrobertson_photo the other day! I wanted to do a shoot with the kittens I've been hand raising for the last 8 weeks. These little guys lost their mum at just a few days old and so I've been doing my best to raise them. I'm still alive. After so many sturm, drang and nice spots of sunshine, I have edited the current half of the backlogs to a lovely state. So lovely that I have uploaded the pdfs online. I'm going to be giving myself a break but during that time I'll be jotting down some new ideas but will also begin drafting for the second half of the backlogs.
