AAAHHH I finally have a new picture from the shoot Robby Idol Photography and I did of my Major from Ghost in the Shell: First Assault! Motoko Kusanagi means so much to me. I've done 5 different costumes of hers so far, this one was definitely the most labor intensive. Starting with the fabric, I used a heavy, thick spandex, and then airbrushed the hexagon pattern onto it (I have tutorials available for that). I used Yaya Han bodysuit pattern, and added a looooooot of length to the torso and legs (over 11" in all!!), but then again I'm a little taller than her 😉 I used 3 different sheens and types of black spandex and pleather for the black parts, so even though they're layered on top of each other, you can see the different textures and shades of black where they meet. EVAkura Armor helped me so much with the armored parts, especially the way the spine moves with me, he's an absolute genius! It has lights in the ankles, knees, hips, and torso. Robby Idol Photography was such a trooper when we went out to shoot this. I was still in Florida at the time, it was 94° out and we completely melted, but I think we have some great photos coming!
