Thinking back on Heavensward. One of my fav things about it actually.

Haurchefant dies but he's at peace with it. Surrounded by friends that at least tried really hard to save him. And were comforting him.

Thordon meanwhile? He's all alone. All the Knights are dead. And he is absolutely terrified of you.

Its just one of those "I just think that's neat" things for me with its story. Even at the end of the Trial itself his reaction is so satisfying. That "wait what the fuck you were absolutely not supposed to survive that" fear.

Larp is the most immersive, passionate, creative, and knowledgeable nerdy community I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. How the hell did it end up being used as an insult to mean "fake fan"?! Linguistically, it doesn't even make sense either cause it's not a word; it's an acronym. Live action role player has no place being used instead of poser, phony, faker, or any of the other myriad of words we already have for this kind of situation. And the only excuse I've seen people use when this is pointed out is some bull along the lines of "it sounds funnier to say larp". Good to know you value the sound of a word over the fact you're using the most dedicated people a fanbase can have as an insult intended to mean the opposite.

parents are allowed to straight-up torture their kids with zero consequences. they can withhold food and water, lock you out of shelter, confiscate your belongings, bar you from human contact, attack and harm you and exert complete control over your physical appearance. and this is just the norm. if you speak out against it you're seen as a delinquent or a predator. even otherwise progressive people get uncomfortable with the idea of dismantling the nuclear family unit because they still see it as the best way to keep kids safe when that simply couldn't be further from the truth. it's evil.
