Steven didn’t know why Garnet had unfused, but he couldn’t think about it right now --- his mind was more occupied with the pink corruption forcing its way up his arm. He gripped his upper arm tightly, the limb shaking as the corruption began to spread. Tears began to well up in his eyes, and he watched as his fingers twisted and changed, becoming claw-like, and he let out a cry of pain and terror.

She always took her time with reforming, she had to just be patient, her form would come to her in time, it wasn’t often she was retrating into her gem.

Eventually she came out, exhausted, and stumbled forward surprised by how dark it was.

Had she reformed in the middle of the night? Though... she heard tons of worried voices. Her vision flashed, revealing them all running towards her worried, wait, what had happened? She frowned as she heard them actually come up, and sat up a bit straighter. Wait, why didn’t she just see them?

Wait. She couldn’t see. No, this wasn’t good. What happened!?

Sometimes it was nice not to be fused- to see the world from her point of view as opposed to Garnet’s. To be able to look at the gem she’d fallen for so long ago. But one thing was a constant, and that’s something that she was grateful for. The sky looked the same, still.

Granted, pressure had pushed them apart momentarily, but they had stayed close to one another all the same.
