Not being fused did have its perks. She could be close to the one she loved, and look at her endlessly if given the chance. It wasn’t so bad, but this pressure that caused them to be apart, and not one as Garnet did bother her. At least this time around it didn’t end up with them arguing. Instead, they stayed by each other’s side.
“O-oh… uhhhh… I’ll be fine, Sapphy.”
It may have been a tiny white lie, but she didn’t want her to worry. Though she did at least take in the other statement. The small Gem would never say it a loud, however knowing that things would be better in the future did make her feel a tiny bit better. Sometimes Sapphire’s future vision did annoy her, because they never really talked about what was going on in the present, but that wasn’t her fault, it’s not like she could control it. Besides that, she was curious how Sapphire felt. She may have known about what lies ahead in their future, but that was no reason for her own feelings to be pushed aside.
“What about you? A-are you doing all right?”
“ It’s hard not to be when you know the outcome of the situation. Not that it can’t change, of course, but I doubt it will. “
The words are calm, and she rolls onto her side to look at Ruby a little clearer, her hair brushed way from her eye. She isn’t quite sure about that, but the again, when you spend that much time as one being, you get to know eachother more intimately than most gems could ever even fathom- and she could tell that Ruby wasn’t feeling 100% fine about all of this.
“ I understand, you know. But I can assure you that we will get the drill working in time, and this planet will be safe. “
Would some physical forms be lost? Well, yes. Nobody would get out of this unscathed, but with something of that sheer magnitude, that’s completely reasonable in her opinion. It’s something she’d accepted. Still, no gems would be shattered, and nothing would be blown up.
