YAY. FANKOO.
"Oh, of course. It's wonderful to hear." She tilted her head and smiled, eyes lingering on his face. "Thank you. I'm flattered." Eve looked down sheepishly at her feet, putting her hands behind her back and lacing her fingers. Her shyness only lasted a second, before glancing back up at him. "Anyway, doctor, I'm sure you're busy, I can leave you alone--?"
[ He chuckles at her shyness, folding his arms in front of his chest. ]
I'm not complainin' if you stick 'round. I just have monthly reports t'file. You could join me for a cup of coffee if you'd like?
"Don't be ridiculous. It's incredibly sweet." She's been told that she's pretty, and she doesn't know enough to disagree -- but she certainly isn't vain. "Oh, no, no, I don't need to be told I'm pretty. I'm not that self conscious." She's half joking, half serious.
[ He chuckles, cheeks still red, and tilts his head to the side in acknowledgement. ]
It’s still nice t’hear, Eve. Even if you aren’t that self-conscious.
[ Leonard spreads a hand in uncertainty, though, unsure that what’s he saying really makes sense. ]
Anyways. You should still know.
The blonde doesn't notice Leonard's blush, and if she does, she knows better than to call him on it. But she does seem to back off, if only a little. "Well.. I don't have to do anything, you're right.. But thank you." She smiles again, a playfulness to it now. Her eyes soften and her jaw drops, producing an 'aww' as a hand covers her heart. "Thank you, Doctor, that's so sweet of you to say. That I'm pretty, I mean."
[ Leonard chuckles, tucking his hands into his pocket, daring to look back up at her. ]
It's the truth, darlin'.
[ And, yeah, okay, maybe it's the doctor coming out in him, but he firmly believes that everybody needs an ego boost every once in a while. ]
Don't make it sweet. Just makes it somethin' you need t'hear more often.
"I disagree, I think it's always necessary to be thankful." She flashes him the sweetest smile she can muster, looking to her hand. You wouldn't even know it had been cut. "Like I said, I know it's your job, bu you do /fantastic/ work. Not even a scar." She's practically gushing.
[ His cheeks darken even further, a rosy red staining them, and Leonard ducks his head to the side, obviously unused to the praise. ]
Really, Eve. You don't have t'do that.
[ He breathes in and out, quelling the urge to rebuff her compliments. ]
I'm very glad you're not gonna scar, though. A pretty woman like you shouldn't have any.
"Doctor McCoy," the blonde chirped, poking at the man's shoulder. "I wanted to say thank you." She holds up her hand, scar free and healed. "I know it's your job any everything, but-- I'm still grateful."
[ He turns, the surprise on his face quickly morphing into serene happiness. ]
I'm very glad to hear that, Eve. But, really.
[ He flushes. ]
Thanks isn't necessary, really.
Uhura had been contemplating this all day. All week, in fact, but she didn't know if it would be okay to just show up on someone's doorstep without warning. The ship-turned-human known as Eve had offered her the 'anything' pass already, and yet Nyota couldn't help but feel like she was doing something wrong.
Still... it was kind of an emergency.
Squashing all doubts, she extended her arm toward the door before she could talk herself out of it, rapping her knuckles against it three times. Biting her lip, she hoped Eve wouldn't mind, but begun to prepare her response in case she did mind.
