"I just got asked to be a tech in the Kobayashi Maru program! Can you believe it?!"
"No way! Gaila, that's great. Well done!"
"Uh… I know that you speak Klingon, can you help me with some useful words?"
"Of course. You mean, just the basics? Or where you after something specific?"
"You are welcome," Spock said, knowing it to be the standard reply. "I observed you have been working extensive hours as of late."
She looked down, nodding. "There's still samples left over from the last away mission that no one can translate, and we had a big call come through not so long ago that was pretty garbled. Someone's got to do it all."

"Now's really not a good time."
//Well my mam went to bed without switching the internet off, so I guess I'll be here for a while longer!
"Yes actually. Have you seen Mr. Scott?"
"Hm- Not since he was on the bridge a little while ago. I can help you find him if you'd like?"
Spock recalled the Captain saying once that replicator coffee was “awful,” and while Spock had no opinion on it either way, rationally he knew it was the only option available.
Nyota looked very tired. The logic was simple.
He placed the fresh cup on the table in front of Uhura, and folded his hands behind his back. “Greetings, Lieutenant.”
She hadn't expected very much to come from the aside she had assumed was to herself. She looked up, and deflated a little when she saw Spock standing in front of her.
"Greetings Commander," She returned, giving him a soft smile.
She pulled her drink towards her, and inhaled deeply. Replicator coffee wasn't great, but it was better than nothing at all. "Thank you."
"Anything is useful in this area of this galaxy, Lieutenant. Get working on it, and report to me as soon as you’ve found something," he told her, and then turned back to his PADD, working on a report. So far, they hadn’t found any wreckage from the supposed fleet that had gone missing in this squadrant, but unfortunately, Jim knew it was only a matter of time.
She nodded. "Yes sir." She turned back to her station, once again bringing up the file. She wasn't sure how much she'd be able to get from it; the voice was fuzzy and there was a lot of static, but she'd try. "Sir, it sounds like an SOS, from what I can make out. They said there's still survivors..." She sighed, and put it back to the start. "I'll keep working on it."
"Ny - oh finally, I’ve been looking for you forever!"
"Hey Gaila! Why were you looking for me?"
//well I was going to try to do replies tonight, but I left all of my responsibilities till the last minute and uh, I've ran out of internet time...
I'll do all of Ny's replies in the morning!

"Something I can help you with?"
"Greetings, Nyota. I can confirm that I am well indeed. I take it the same can be said for you as well?"
"I think it's a safe assumption." She nodded, and smiled. "It's to see you."
{ Nyota put her head in her hands, heaving a sigh. It had been a long day, and she was certainly tired. }
"I think I need more coffee."
❝Yeah, o-on my way. There. On my way there. Sorry. Eighteen hour shift.❞
"It's alright - eighteen hours is a long time."
{ She hadn't worked that long since she was in the academy. }
“No!”
{ That was his only response. He couldn’t speak, the tears that had been pooling at the corners of his eyes were now falling down his face quite freely, and he shook his head. He couldn’t let this happen. He couldn’t cry. He was meant to be the captain of a god damn ship, and he was walking down a corridor, crying his eyes out. }
“Why should I wait?!”
{ Uhura always analysed voices, because voices told you everything. Jim's was thick, thick was tears and thick with emotions, and she knew then that he was really upset. Something had happened, something big, and she had to know. Evidently, he hadn't gotten it off his chest yet. }
"Because I want to talk to you! Talking's what I do best, Kirk, please- I told you, you can always talk to me. Always."
"Under what reasons, Lieutenant?"
"I have an... important meeting tomorrow afternoon. The change would only be temporary - I'll work beta shift and be straight back to alpha."
