Culture, defined.

Let us take a book. A container for recordings, stories, pictures for so long. An item which has grown and developed and changed so much, yet remained entirely the same all at once. 

The world has a constellation of cultures within its hands. Culture, as can be seen through taking something like a book, is ever-changing and developing, morphing into that which society and the people who hold it true make it. 

In the past, books have hopped from one period of time to another. People started off by creating alphabets and language and a means in which to communicate and set their ideas down. A means of communicating to whomever may wish to know that which one wished to share.

As time went on, what with technological advances and discoveries, the book became something far more than what it was. It was suddenly versatile, it was able to be printed more officially when the printing press was invented. This meant wider distribution of one person’s thoughts. A larger audience. A greater sharing of ideas.

Nowadays the book has become even more. The information a book contains is able to be seen around the world, via bookshops and screens and through visual interpretation. 

Let us see Culture as the Book. Let us see the Book as Culture. Technology and habits, geography and history. Aspects which all influence every one of our cultures and cause it to be an intensely fluid aspect of our lives. An ever-changing organism that ultimately makes us who we are. 

We are the books we read, the information we expose ourselves to. 

We are the culture we emerge into.
