We learn a little bit of how badass Ikeyni is, also something about Tarsem (and god forbid we forget he is wise beyond his years, lol). I like how Mo'at encourages the Omatikaya warriors to use metal weapons, so long as they do a cleansing ritual after every use.
Poor Ian Garvin was just trying to study Pandora's marine life when he was forced into helping with the tulkun hunts. Glad he finally snapped in this movie though. Hopefully his protest was noted, lol.
And we finally get the name and picture of Norm's wife and kids! I mean, we already knew about his daughter Popiti, who is Tuktirey's friend, but now we know his wife is named Mutxuk and the other child (a son?) is called Tuvat.
And Max has a wife too! Her name is Nora.
Edit: Added Norm's full pages and moved Spider's pages from the Sully family post here.

I funking love this guy. I wish he were in more fan-created material.
Did Tonowari teach him the sign for 'friend' in a past encounter? That'd be way cooler than him learning it via observing the Na'vi from a distance.
frfr tho he's reminiscent of both Grace + Trudy while remaining his own character! Openly admits to drinking the guilt away, and takes every chance they can to remind the sea dragon crew how fucked up the hunting they do is. And let's not even get into his heroics in movie 3!
While I will always stay obsessed with Jake Sully, Ian is easily my favorite character that isn't considered 'main cast.' He will get the highest honor I give all the characters I love... Smoking hot sex and horror of the tenth degree. Not necessarily in any order.
Not only did they bring back freaking "cyborg" pirate back, but they kept the science guy alive?! At least this dude will be either help or redeemable for Fire and Ash.
I've spent the past couple days having avatar fans on reddit vote for a character to put in each box and here's the results! The only one I don't really agree with is Aonung, I feel like there are more hateable characters like Selfridge for the neutral category. By far the funniest vote was Spider. Most folks on reddit actually like Spider or at least feel neutral for him, but everyone's seen the way the tiktokers and twitterers talk about him so they felt obligated to put him there. It was comment after comment of "Well I like him, but no one else does so I'll vote for him there :( :(" ignoring that everyone else was saying they also like him lmao
I just watched Fire and Ash and I need to unwind before getting serious about the main plot and characters so let me unwind and talk about what happened to the unimportant guys. Under the cut are spoilers for the small things and background characters like Wainfleet, Garvin, Ardmore, Selfridge, ikran. Plus some speculation based on a hunch (no spoiler).
I loved Lye Wainfleet in this as the one who turns out to be the recom who only cares about the original mission and actually remembers they are human inside. All things Quaritch professes but gets easily distracted from. He's like why are we saving these kids that's not our mission? Why are we giving crazy people guns? He is just there to get Jake Sully. And not die for the second time on some side quest. I'm like 99% sure he succeeds because he listened to orders and stayed safely in Bridgehead for the last battle. disappears from the final battle like Metkayina in A2.
I'm trying to figure out if RDA knows Garvin helped Jake escape. On one hand I'm pretty sure they think that Spider was in that machine. He had the right clothes and was right there. On the other it looks like he wasn't there on tulkun hunting ships so maybe he is in prison? I hope he was just left behind because of his objection was noted.
We know Neytiri's ikran name. Sa'ata loves Neytiri so much. She loaded Neytiri on her back and all. And she lived 🩵
Also Spider being accepted by all the ikran is canon. He comes and climbs on Sa'ata all alone and she doesn't even blink.
I know fandom jokes about Jake not riding Bob to big battles and he still doesn't. Jake's on his toruk and his tsurak but no sight of Bob there. But you know what - Bob has survived all movies so far and no other family member can say that about their ikran. Jake is keeping him safe.
Toruk was so cool throwing ships around though. I'm sure this shows it learned something from Jake's mind too. Jake becomes beast when he rides one but shit really goes crazy when beast gains military knowledge and now knows how to destroy human tech efficiently. That last throw was such a precision strike.
There was no Stringer in this too. He was barely there in A2 (no name). Selfridge doesn't seem to have that much power (although it's still funny to see how little SecOps still care about his orders). So who is the actual corporate oversight of this invasion? Ardmore sure seemed to think no one's orders in this Solar System matters more than hers.
Quaritch basically did another mutiny/power grab on Ardmore in the end. At least he doesn't have to worry about consequences since she failed to abandon the ship in time. I wonder who takes over now. Who sends the RDA/Mangkwan against Wester Resistance. I suppose someone more into this alliance than her.
They cut Jake attacking Parker scene. We don't see that moment with Jake in prison suit in some high tech space. So many things were cut. There was also no mention of Betabridge. I still wonder what it was supposed to be.
I'm even more sure my theory about Dr Karina Mogue being responsible for research on samples and data taken from Spider during captivity. I'm also sure she will figure it out eventually. This is another reason why I'm still too angry to write about big stuff yet.
