George Harrison was very lucky, very talented eventually, and very Ying and Yang about the life he was given. He loved the early Beatles success but came to resent it as he realised fame and fortune did not help him achieve Nirvana. He was also deeply frustrated by his efforts to get his ever-improving songs onto albums populated by mostly amazing efforts by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. He loved many women, sometimes only once. He liked drugs. He was as normal as he was incredible. He was writing better songs than the other Beatles from 1969 until a good way into the 1970s when he seemed to gain spiritual energy whilst losing creative. He became a truly great guitar player. He was a late bloomer. He brought the world the word “grotty”. He was a great benefactor to the struggling British film industry from 1979 onwards and ensured thousands of people were employed in it for a very long time. He was/is George Harrison and he will be loved for as long as people appreciate popular music.

From 2001 to 2003 Lee and Ian McNabb, a musician from Liverpool, and frontman of the band The Icicle Works, had a relationship. He describes it on his memoir "Merseybeast".
