Nevin not going to church is normal.
Him having a friend over while Drew is gone is not.
“Oh, yeah, I’m just going uh. Yeah.” Chris walks off to the kitchen to grab a snack. His brother keeps playing their game, his eyes not moving away from the screen.
Drew briefly looks over his shoulder, but maybe he doesn’t care if Chris sees. He leans down over the back of the couch and places a kiss on his older brother’s cheek.
Nevin glances at him, but doesn’t say a word. His cheeks still color and while he tries to keep his facial expression neutral, Drew sees the corners waver.
Not hiding his grin, Drew goes in again. He leans all the way over the couch and presses kisses across his brother’s cheek. It ghosts along the beginning of his ear, but Drew starts trailing as far downward as possible. Down his neck.
Nevin finally takes a hand off the controller and presses it into Drew’s face, pushing it away. He stares down his younger twin.
His brother’s timing was unfortunately perfect. A little longer and he’d be sporting a hickey.
Drew smiles innocently anyway.
“One.” Nevin glances towards the kitchen before placing a chaste kiss on his younger brother’s lips.
Drew surges forward and places one of his own on Nevin’s. “For each of us.”
He smiles, twirling a piece of his brother’s hair. Always his.
Nevin’s face reddens and his pout makes Drew want to place another kiss on his mouth. Unfortunately, his brother’s friend Chris walks back in and his brother pushes his face away at a speed that makes Drew’s neck hurt.
“Hey, Drew, do you wanna join us?” He invites politely, unlike his big dumb brother.
“No, he’s just leaving,” Nevin answers for him, which he could have said himself.
He almost wants to stay now. Just to spite Nevin.
“Yeah, I was just dropping by. I need to get back.” Drew finishes, plastering his smile on.
He knows. It’s the nature of their relationship they need to keep it hidden.
They should move somewhere where nobody knows them. Not even with grandma. Then they could be open with it.
Then they could really be together.
Some couples look more like siblings than friends. They could act like one of those.
