Jam please share any Sweammare thoughts or headcannons with me, i can't sleep and i'm about to crashout from these DAMN FIREWORKS!!!
RAAAAHHHHHHH
Unfortunate,,,,, :(((
here: Nightmare would sometimes sneak into Dream's bed after he's asleep but sneaks out before he wakes up!!
I saw a relationship chart with "Ends up in jail" so I knew I had to do make it with DS Mare
I actually put some though behind it,so you can ask aby question u want
Hallo!! Hope your having a nice day, or, well the day that will come because it's pretty late for you as i send this.
But remember when you answered my ask for Sweammare and you made some art for cryptid/analogue horror Sweammare?
Do you wanna exoand on that... I'd like to know what in the WORLD happened to Dream, and why Nightmare looks so.. [understandably] terrified...
ok well, infection aus are usually. quite gory. infections with no cure tend to be a little messed up like that (lmao)... they become a bit boring when it's overdone and there's no story but thats just my opinion I have seen so much gore that I love but for interesting-ness the story always is much better
anyway. drawing that I realised the potential for an infection au but couldn't properly manage anything Actually evil (also bc I didn't wanna answer with literal gore. lol.)
so. implied Dream infected. how far and all is largely up to interpretation, but he obviously is infected to at least some degree ... and it's noticeable enough that Night refuses to look at him :P
I believe the extra height is part of that... it might also just be evds Dream (ehe) being tall AF but it might also be that the infection made him grow :3. (they are not. connected. evds dream isn't actually infected in his au I'm just brainrotting...)
It probably also. isn't too immediately gory of an infection because for that photo he was in public and walking around normally. if leaning on night a bit. but it's likely a smart virus.
I was also... taking a bit of inspiration from here but genuinely that might be a bit bad so if it's dark for you or you don't like holes or so don't look. <3 .....
DREAMTALE AUS SHIP
yaay I love alllll
Another dreammare idea based on an eldritch horror podcast? More likely than you think!! This one is based on hit podcast malevolent but all you need to know to understand this one is who/what the king in yellow is!! This interpretation of kiy is done with the image of how the malevolent podcast portrays him, so keep that in mind!
More specifically, sweammare!! Dreamswap my beloved,,,,
Swadswan or even Nightcest could also very easily work with this idea but i have more thoughts for sweammare in this situation!!
So!! Picture this: Nightmare is an librarian, and a mysterious book shows up in his office, he opens it hoping to find out any information, and he blacks out
By the time Nightmare wakes, he realizes he can no longer see, he's forgotten the last couple minutes, and there's now a presence in his brain who's claiming to be "his friend" with his library assistant, Dust, dead
Nightmare and the entity quickly learn that they have to work together to do anything in life, Nightmare is the one whose most in control of the body and steering, but the entity is the one scouting ahead and guiding him. Neither of them can go through this new existence without the other
this presence is later nicknamed Dream by Nightmare, it's a spur of the moment decision and something that matches with Nightmare's own name after learning that Dream has no memory of his own past, a nickname until Dream hopefully remembers (A name Dream both resents and is thankful for, it makes him feel more... Real. Less trapped)
Unfortunately, Nightmare and Dream don't get along, especially not at first, Nightmare has a relaxed and confident attitude that annoys Dream to no end as he's more detail oriented and logical, they end up butting heads a lot, especially over little things, which is the last thing you want when you're sharing a body
Nightmare feels like Dream is an intruder and is frustrated easily for his lack of eyesight and loss of control, and Dream feels like the little control he has isn't enough and feels trapped without the ability to speak to anyone else but who he views as his jailer
Eventually, Dream and Nightmare decide to temporarily work together to hopefully get back to separate bodies and figure out who exactly Dream really is
Throughout this journey, Dream learns the good, the bad, and the beautiful of humanity, every face of it, and begins to not mind the earth, and even be grateful
Nightmare learns that Dream can be kind, and that his unwilling companion is blunt but genuine, and can even be trustworthy despite his first words being lies
After a long long adventure and fighting off more than one creature that no one can see but Dream, they discover a cult that worships the king in yellow, and through the cultists actions they realize that Dream is that king
Well, not really accurate, Dream is a fragment of the king in yellow, placed in a book to hopefully takeover a mortal vessel and allow the king to enter the physical realm, but it failed. Now the king wishes to reclaim his lost piece and become whole, but unfortunately Dream has gotten attached to his mortal (and really, life in general), and neither of them want to be separated anymore. They've grown used to each other, even fond, and reliant
The rest of the story follows Dream and Nightmare growing closer as they learn the truth of the world alongside each other, fighting gods that want them dead or separate, and untangling mysteries, and discovering the truth of Nightmare's terrible luck
Cue "You call it madness" by Nat King Cole!!
