Mandatory Mother's day post
Lucien had to admit he had been essentially living like a recluse ever since his return to civilization. So far, most of his outside activities concerned stalking and getting his ass kicked by Rook and her associates, and that really needed to change.
It was a bit early to consider spending more time than necessary among large crowds or even, hell, socialize. But he was definitely putting more effort in visiting his mother's grave regularly. Carnations seemed appropriate for today's visit, he was glad he got them to blossom just in time. Lucien tended to stay quiet during his visits. The constant feeling of being watched really didn't put him in the right mood for that.
Erica, on the other hand, was far more vocal about her day with her parents. The kids of the facility were busy drowning Willow in gifts and good wished, so the elf had plenty of time to tell her parents about her day while planting some flowers on her mother's side. Her father was going to get some as well in a minute.
Speaking of Willow, she didn't exactly have anything to celebrate. The children of Carthage, on the other hand, felt like she could have used some time off. Besides, the Core's fairy counterpart would show up soon after visiting her own mother and Fae was bound to show up the second Willow tried to get back to work anyway.
The three of ladies were supposed to meet up at Rook's, as her mother insisted they all stopped by for some cake. They all knew better than to turn down the request, and so did the novices (especially Josh). This was the ghost lady's way to show her gratefulness for the circumstances that allowed her to spend every day with her family. Blood wasn't the beginning and end of everything, if she could be there for Rook, she could be there for all of them.
Perhaps, one day she would also take Lucien under her wing.
