There's a smile that plays about the lips of the apprentice as he lays back in his seat, a bottle dangling from his hair as he watches the crews mingle. The new sprog is running around with the Red Hair, and he is glad for the moment to take his eyes off the youth and indulge in his preferred company. The sound of Buggy's voice is a balm to his current anxieties, and he listens easily, letting the other fill the space in the small nook of the deck they have pillaged for themselves. "Hate to break it to you, Bugs', but you're always going to be dramatic, over it or not..." he grins, gesturing towards the other with his bottle. Despite the accusation he grins, his body language making it quite obvious his appreciation of the fact. There was something refreshingly honest about Buggy, despite the ranting and the loudness, he knew where he stood. When Buggy was made with him, it was clear, and when his company was appreciated it was even more so. "So how are you planning on getting over it then? Not talking to him for a week?" Ainsley tips his head in query and hums thoughtfully at the idea. It's effective, but probably not as easy as one might assume. "Or you going to do something? Itching powder in his hammock maybe? Hide his boots? Tie his shirt up top like a flag from the crow's nest?" @resolutepath
ainsley is different, buggy thinks. from the first time they met, though most gravitate towards shanks (and how could they not? looking at shanks is like looking directly at the sun), ainsley somehow sees past the red haired wonder kid, and behind that sun, and he sees buggy. sometimes it feels like no one ever sees buggy.
maybe that's why they're always trying to be so flashy.
the night is creeping on, but buggy finds he's far too full of energy to even notice, happily recounting all the latest tales the roger pirates have been up to for ainsley, catching up the other on the crews exploits, including shanks' latest slight against buggy. how dare he, by the way-
"w-what! i'm not always dramatic! i can be perfectly calm!" he puffs his cheeks out, annoyed as they turn red, rosy to match his nose. at least he can trust ainsley to not mention it.
despite his indignation, though, buggy can't help but grin as ainsley supplies ideas for getting back at that punk shanks.
"y'know, those aren't bad ideas-" sure, the silent treatment is a tried and true method- making shanks pouty is funny in and of itself, but there's more to do to get back at him than just annoying him.
"forget his hammock, i think itching powder in his underwear should be a fitting punishment for crossing me!" they glance over at shanks and the kid, properly distracted, before smirking as they look back at ainsely.
"he's busy, wanna help me? or what if we put some itching powder in captain's bed and then frame shanks! that'd be hilarious!"
his giggle has him bent over, his own genius amusing beyond belief, and with ainsley, he thinks that maybe someone else is actually appreciative of it, too.
