Okay I CAN post asks now, but this one will be super long and rambly, so I figured I'd do you a solid and put it under a cut. 

Um hi! You are so marvellous and I love your blog so much! I was wondering if you would be able to talk a little bit about Sam/ Icarus parallels and all that goodness because um its my favourite and just yes. But it's totally okay if you don't feel like getting into that right now or whatever mostly just congratulations and thank you for being on tumblr! :) - sweetest anon ever omg

Okay, since I said I'd do whatever you guys wanted - the Icarus thing is about a fic I'm (failing at) writing. It's a super weird twist on a restaurant!au where the brothers grew up apart and Sam goes to find Dean 

The Icarus part is super hard to explain though, let me try.. 

A bit part of the fic is that Dean really wants to travel and see the world, and would do anything to get out of the town he's lived in all his life. (Which reminded me of Icarus, who died trying to get away from captivity and enjoying the freedom of flight)

The part about dying because he was flying too high also ties in with something with Sam (WHO WILL NOT DIE, I WILL NOT KILL ANYONE OFF) but that would take too long to explain

I'm guessing I just made you more confused than you were before but I hope you have some idea!
