More of these dorks borrowing each other’s clothes. :3

“Hand in Hand”
They both know he has no need for “it”.
They both know he is perfectly able to walk, work and function on his own.
Just last week, Madara pierced the head of a hostile shinobi with a single kunai from the top of a tower. The man was already down in the streets when he made the pitiful attempt to flee the scene.
And yet it can be seen by others as a weakness, to walk hand in hand. It may appear as if he needs a guide. By now everyone knows that Madara is going blind, no matter how hard he tried to keep it a secret in the beginning, even from his own spouse. It is public knowledge that the Uchiha who once prided himself for his keen eye is nowadays more often squinting than he is not. And he struggled to adjust (still struggles, sometimes) and accept the change. He has to resist the temptation to worsen his condition by using his sharingan outside of battle.
But this… - he thinks, and squeezes his husband’s hand a bit tighter, smiles when Tobirama squeezes back.
He technically does not need it.
But he wants it.
This is something he will not give up.
No matter if they talk behind his back.
He would teach them what consequences it has to taunt an Uchiha, even a blind one.
(And if he snuggles a bit closer to Tobirama whenever they walk by Izuna’s house and acts helpless on purpose, just to hear his little brother loudly complain that he would have rather given Madara his eyes than suffer from this sight everyday, then it is no one’s business but his own.)
May I choose: playing with your partner's hair for MitoObi? Where Obito admires Minto's lovely red locks being all free and flowy, and can't resist to touch?
(ObiMito my beloved 💕💕💕)
I got carried away again... xD I think I swayed a bit from the prompt.
As always, the setting is my established time travel AU for this ship.

“Mito! Get down!”
Just in time, the Uzumaki princess ducked a spray of acid coming from the local flora they had disturbed on purpose. When they made the plan, it seemed like a good idea to use the environment to their advantage. In practice, it actually hindered them from making a quick escape. Mito was more than relieved that the Uchiha finally showed up when he did. Following Obito’s beckoning, she swiftly joined his side and they made their exit together, leaving Kiri territory with the swirl of his Kamui.
Unfortunately, as practical as that means of transportation was, it was not as clean as Mito desired. They were still soaked in water and mud up to their knees and she cringed when the indescribable fluid began to drip all over the floor of her home. Both of them immediately toed off their shoes, cringing at the disgusting squelching noise it made, and left them at the entrance.
“Did you get what we came for?” Mito finally remembered to ask after they made their way further inside.
Without a word Obito handed her a slightly wet scroll. She let out a sigh of relief. At least they did not have to go a second time…
“What was holding you up so long anyway?”
With a bit more force than necessary, Mito yanked out the needles which usually held her long hair out of her face and neatly bundled up in two buns. Usually they withstood any wind and weather thorough the day, kept it neat and pristine. Today…not so much. Due to their excursion in the swamp, the needles were askew, some forever lost to the murky waters. Tiny twigs had found their way into Mito's hair instead and she tried desperately to untangle the knots.
“Well, the scroll was exactly where we predicted it would be,” Obito began to explain, “but unfortunately once I touched it there was this barrier that got triggered and then, uhm… it could… Uh…”
He suddenly trailed off.
“It could do what?” Mito asked impatiently and gave up trying to wrestle with her hair. “Don't just stop in the middle of the sentence.”
Then she saw him staring at her and frowned.
“Obito?” She asked, snapping with her fingers. “Are you listening?”
“Ah,” Obito said, dazed. “Yes, right. It drained all the chakra in the room, so I was stuck until I figured out how to disable it. Sorry, I was… I was lost in thoughts for a moment.”
Mito raised a brow.
“Would you like to fill me in about the subject of these thoughts?”
He blinked, clearly caught off guard by the question, and a slight blush settled on his cheeks. Avoiding her eyes, he sheepishly rubbed his neck.
“I just thought… well, I only noticed now that your hair is really long!” Obito smiled. “It looks nice when it's down.”
Mito was speechless for a moment. She was no stranger to flattery but this was… The last time she received a simple yet earnest compliment like this was when she had been four years old and still playing with the other children in the dirt. Once she became acknowledged as a lady and master of her craft, she got showered in poetic musings about her supposed beauty, while behind her back they feared and loathed her for her strength.
There was no hidden meaning or concealed backstab behind Obito's words. It was just… sweet. Plain, but sweet.
“It looks much nicer when it's not a mess,” Mito said and returned his smile with one of her own, tugging slightly on a knot to show her struggle.
Obito's eyes lit up immediately and he placed the scroll on a table. Out of nowhere he suddenly held a brush in his hand and approached.
“If you want I can help you with that,” he offered eagerly, playfully twirling the brush on one finger.
“You only want to touch my hair,” Mito teased him. “At least let me change into something more comfortable first.”
Seeing how Obito himself was in the same state of moist discomfort, he agreed easily enough. Soon, they were settled in warm, fresh clothing and a regained sense of cleanliness.
But Obito had his eyes on the goal and once Mito sat down, he was already seated behind her and waiting for her permission.
“May I…?” He asked with a waver in his voice, as if he was still expecting rejection at this point.
She snorted.
“You may.”
Mito removed most of the dirt while changing, but it was very soothing to have Obito go through it slowly and with more care. Her hair was so long that it reached past her hip and pooled on the floor between them. Most of it had been gathered by Obito and placed across his legs. He was surprisingly gentle while he combed the strands of her long, red hair and took extra precaution not to accidentally get stuck on any entangled bits. She closed her eyes after a while. This was nice. The repetitive movements were quite relaxing and after a day like this, Mito felt drowsy enough to just let someone else take care of her.
“Hm.”
That noise of frustration made her open one eye at least.
“Is something the matter?” She decided to inquire once Obito kept fiddling with her hair. It felt like he was rubbing it between his fingers.
“…l don’t know how to say this without making it sound like an insult.”
Mito half turned her head and gave him an incredulous look.
“Now you made me curious. Go ahead, you’re forgiven in advance.”
He cleared his throat and played with the end of one of the strands.
“… I expected it to be softer,” he finally admitted.
Mito pursed her lips.
“But it is still very nice and flowy!” He back-pedalled quickly.
“Go back to brushing,” she huffed and turned back around, “before you put your foot further in your mouth.”
“Mitooooooo~” He whined and dropped the brush. His arms wrapped around her middle and pulled him into his chest. “Don’t be mad, you promised!”
From this position, she could angle her head to look up at him. He took the chance to press a kiss against the diamond on her forehead.
“All good?” Obito whispered hopefully.
Mito rolled her eyes and smiled.
“It’s fine.” She stretched a bit to nuzzle his jaw. “I asked for it.”
He grinned and craned his neck to steal a proper kiss from her lips, now that he knew he was forgiven. When they parted, he snickered.
“Do you want me to continue brushing your hair when we go to bed? You dozed off earlier.”
Mito squeaked and poked his chest.
“I did not!”
“I heard a snore.”
“Obito…” she growled.
The argument was carried out over the rest of the evening. But when they settled in for the night, Mito ended up falling asleep to the caress of his fingers running through her hair.
I think Obito finding out how his time travel affected the icarus timeline went basically like this:
Mito: “- and then I approached Tobirama about the issue, but that went rather poorly. You would think he would be able to talk some sense into Madara, seeing how he’s his husband and yet…”
Obito, spitting out his tea in horror: “His WHAT.”
I was in the mood to make a brief summary of this AU. Doubt anyone paid attention to my infrequent rambling about it to keep up with it.
To clarify each point:
1: When Obito would turn into ash in the wind in canon, he doesn’t die but travels back in time for some reason. (Perhaps his Kamui’s hidden power, now that both of his eyes are reunited in his pretty skull.)
2: He is spit out in Uzushio, that’s how he meets Mito. He gets nursed back to health and after realising where he landed he starts planning to make up for his deeds and become the man he wanted to be as a kid. Eventually he entrusts Mito with his plans because he remembers that plans of that scale are best done with the right allies.
3: Officially he becomes part of the Uzumaki clan and works as Mito’s guard (and friend). Unofficially, he wears a mask once more and makes secret trips and alliances all over the different nations, using his skills to manipulate for a new cause. Obito’s alias gains a certain reputation and, due to his white hair and supposed “speed”/ability to be everywhere at once, is rumoured to be Tobirama in disguise. Zetsu is taken care of, captured first with Obito’s Kamui and later with a special Uzumaki seal.
4: Thanks to some careful scheming and nudging, peace is made between the clans and the village is built. All is good and well, for a while.
5: Of course Izuna is alive. Kicking and screaming, but alive. He comes around. When the children laugh and people smile at each other in the streets and nothing happens, he dares to believe in something dangerous like trusting the Senju.
6: I think I don’t need to explain in detail how Madara & Tobirama might have caught each other’s interest. You got pages of fanfic for that. (But I can tell you that they are a very sweet and loving couple in this timeline.)
7: However, despite the peace, their personalities don’t bring out the best in each other in this AU. Quite the opposite. Madara’s superiority complex, his deep seated fear of betrayal and his need to stay in control paired with Tobirama’s pragmatic nature and eagerness to push the borders of what’s possible are acting like gasoline and fire here. Their love for others and for each other, the loyalty, the wish to protect this peace and preserve it forever is sadly what will lead to their downfall.
8: Highly unethical experiments. Eventual Juubi!Tobirama. Absolute madness. (Hashirama & Izuna bond over this experience :’D)
