Flag of Solidarity

Also known as the “never again” flag or the flag of minorities, this flag is used by those who stand against ICE and stand in protection of immigrants across the country, illegal or otherwise.  It symbolizes solidarity between minority groups, and those that Trump would consider “un-American”.

Symbolism:

Eleven stars: The number of stars is representative of all ethnic, sexual, gender, and differently-abled minorities across the country: African-Americans, Hispanic/Latinos, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, Asians, Alaska Natives, LGBTQ+ folk, disabled folk, neurodivergents, Muslims and Jewish folk.

Blue and Green Stars:  The blue and green stars stand for those of Jewish faith and those of Islam respectively.  Green is often used in flags of Islamic countries, and blue is considered a significant color in Judaism.

Large Central Star:   The large central star symbolizes Puerto Rico, and, more generally, all US outlying territories.

Black Stripes:  The black stripes symbolize our mourning of all victims of minority violence, especially at the hands of our government, including police shootings, ICE detainment, discrimination and hate crimes.

In the face of our governments actions, we stand strong in solidarity.  Feel free to spread around.

I just heard that this man who owns a long-standing restaurant in my hometown was detained by ICE a year ago. According to his daughter, she was forced to drop out of college to handle lawyer fees, all business affairs, household bills, etc. entirely by herself.

Although his detainment is not new, his case is still ongoing and she is now financially struggling to stay on top of everything.
