Best iced coffees to try this summer
Iced coffee is the perfect beverage anytime. However, when you drink it in the summers, it can feel so satisfying. You can have iced coffee in so many ways. Either drink it black or mix it with oat milk or regular milk or with sugar or syrup.
Also, one of the best parts about iced coffee is that it is simple to make at home. Instead of waiting in line at cafes and paying so much for an iced coffee, start making it at home. Want to explore this? Then check out these best-iced coffee recipes and enjoy them in the scorching heat.
Classic iced coffee
The basic iced coffee that you can make requires only two things- Brewed coffee and ice cubes. Get your caffialty pod and brew a strong cup of coffee. In a tall glass, put tons of ice cubes. Now, pour the espresso on it. Your iced coffee is ready. You can add a bit of sugar if you want, but it tastes decadent without that too.
You can make this version (or any) using a drip coffee maker, Aerospace, or even French Press.
The Mazagran
It came from Algeria, but not it’s a famous drink in Portuguese.
To make this, you will need:
Espresso- double or single shot (as per taste)
Sugar or stevia
Rum
Mint leaves
Coldwater
Lemon juice from ½ lemon
To make:
Let the sugar dissolve in espresso and let it cool down
Now, in a big bowl, add the espresso, water, rum, and lemon juice. Mix them well.
In a tall glass, add ice cubes and pour the mixture over them. Garnish with mint leaves and enjoy this.
Frappe from Greece
A frappe ( do not confuse it with the coffee frappes you get in Starbucks) is a popular drink from Greece. Here is how you can enjoy this Greek drink at home:
Instant coffee powder- 2 tbsp
Sugar- 2 tbsp or to taste
Coldwater – 1 tbsp
Cold milk/water- 1 cup
Shaker or blender
To make:
In a blender or shaker, mix 1 tbsp of water along with sugar and coffee. Shake it well till you see a foamy mixture.
Now, in a tall glass, pour this mixture. Now use the rest of the water and make it. You can even use cold milk instead of water.
Brandy iced coffee from Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan coffee is incredible as it is sweet and spicy at the same time. To make this:
Coldwater – 1 liter
Water- 1 cup
Vanilla extract – 1tbsp
Sweetened condensed milk- 500g
Ground coffee- 5 tbsp
Cardamon pods- 10
Cloves-10
Brandy- 1oz
Saucepan, jug, and filter
To make:
In a saucepan, boil the water along with coffee, cloves & cardamom for 10 minutes. Let it cool down.
In a jug, add condensed milk and pour the above mixture through a filter.
Mix the cold water, vanilla extract, and brandy.
Enjoy after pouring in a tall glass.
