Apparently the pre-orders are also available on Big Bad Toy Store a couple of days ago but Goro is already sold out over there as usual. This boy's in high demand fr 😭

I was skeptical about these listings at first because I find it very strange and fishy that Western hobby stores have these LIMITED lottery figures for "pre-order" when the actual lottery hasn't even started yet (Starts on January 31st). Not only that, In Japanese stores, you can only pre-order the lottery tickets for a chance to win those figures, NOT the figures themselves.

So I thought it was one of those scams with FOMO tactics that Western hobby stores use to squeeze as much money as possible from English-speaking weebs like me...

...until I did some research. It turns out that Ichibansho figures work a bit differently than Ichiban Kuji figures. Ichibansho is a brand from Bandai that is used for selling their Ichiban Kuji figures in a non-lottery method.

It seems like Ichibansho figures are usually only sold in American stores because Ichiban Kuji lotteries don't exist there. Crunchyroll (and seemingly Big Bad Toy Store) are authorized retailers for Bandai's Ichibansho figures.

Since I was able to prove my thoughts wrong, I finally decided to pre-order the figures! I never bought or pre-ordered anything from the Crunchyroll Store before so I hope that I won't face any problems 😣🙏

Crunchyroll also seems to ship from the US which means I don't have to deal with dumb tariffs hopefully.

Thank you once again for this information! Not only was I able to pre-order these new Shuake figures, I also learned about the Ichibansho brand! My Shuake shrine will continue to grow😊✨

What a lucky pull! After years of getting E and G tickets at our local shops, we finally pulled one of the banner Ichiban Kuji prizes.

If you're unfamiliar, Ichiban Kuji is a Japanese toy lottery. A shop will have a poster on display showing the various prizes you can get - ranging from keychains, soft goods, acrylic stands, small figures, and larger figures at the top of the list. The prizes are organized by letter grades, from A to H (and sometimes even further down the alphabet) signifying their rarity. Some shops even have multiple sets offered, or specialize only in Ichiban Kuji.

You buy a ticket, open it and show your letter to the cashier, and you win the prize shown. And the last ticket sold gets an extra special one of a kind prize

And this time we got prize B - this incredibly detailed Goku figure depicting the artwork from the chapter 75 title illustration. It's just a gorgeous display piece. It's a beautiful sculpt, with so much texture. And that crisp, precise paint work. It's stunning, and it has a wonderful memory attached to it.

Not gonna be buying much the next few months, at the very least, thanks to some crummy news on the job front--but this order arrived from BigBadToyStore today, so at least I get to enjoy one last good thing before I try to tighten my belt for real.

The first item is the Ichibansho Godzillasaurus (and Dorats) figure/statue. This was actually purchased for me as a Christmas gift, but some asshole stole the package it was in--which had gifts for the whole household, no less. Luckily we replaced everything else, but I waited a bit on this one because BBTS had the better deal.

This figure is so beautiful. The only minor issue is that it does stand a bit awkwardly on my shelf, but that's a minor issue. The pose and detail are incredible. Sure, the Dorats are just a solid gold color, but they were a "bonus" anyways.

I now have three Ichibansho figures: this one, Odo Island Godzilla from Minus One, and the 1992 Mothra Larva. I hope I can collect more eventually.

But the other amazing arrival was definitely the Hiya Toys Godzilla 1991 Heat Ray edition.

Pictures really don't do this beauty justice. The details are amazing, like the perpetual snarl the suit always had, and the articulation is way better than any of the other Hiya Toys Godzilla figures I already have.

Very glad I picked this fellow up. Can hardly wait to find a good place for him on my shelf.
