Little details from Mr. Kinoshita about Ikki and Igarashi's family
He used his own family as the model for the Igarashis. He's the eldest with a brother and a sister. But they were intended to be a single-mom family as the writer's father passed away since he's young. After the meeting with the producers, they decided to create a 5-member family as we've seen.
The writer's meddling character came from the lack of his dad in his childhood so at first he didn't know how to write Ikki's character and story.
He said he finally decided how to write after meeting Maeda-kun in the casting as he's impressed with Maeda-kun's 'purity' (lol), honesty and gentleness.
The producer also mentioned something about Ikki: "If Vice didn't separated himself from Ikki, he would become a very dangerous existence".
And until they met Maeda-kun, the main character's name used to be Igarashi Ichiban (aka number 1), not Ikki lmao.
The writer once said Ikki didn't have any role models and in the end he confirmed that Ikki is a mixture of him and Maeda-kun lol
