The entire episode is just fighting against the Rabbit Mask man who is targeting Hakugou because he possesses the Moon Egg. In the fight, there are also a lot of other plot points accumulating. All I can say is that the non-linear plot line really is harming this anime because I don’t know what’s going on.
The plot points other than the fighting do have a connection to the fight, but they’ll probably be explained later on. The first is Tenko’s hair suddenly changing to white, but he’s still in his soft, cute form rather than his brutish form. Could the Rabbit Mask coming to the fantasy world have an effect on this? Given that Sanu appeared around the time this had happened, I do wonder if he had something to do with it, given that he had an evil smirk in the previous episode and that he looks very ominous in the opening.
Another plot point is Ichiyo’s origins. A Kashi not using the peaches to go back and forth between worlds is indeed weird. Yet, Ichiyo can do it perfectly fine. There seems to be a lot of mystery behind Ichiyo’s origins as Hakugou and Shiwa are being hush hush about it. Could Ichiyo be born from the Moon Egg or is the egg himself?
Now for the fights, well it’s mainly with Rabbit Mask, who is assumed to be Koton, one of the Four Perils. He has the ability to send out dangerous and terrifying monsters. He also has some fighting capability as he was the one who fought Sonto, the head of the Kashi ministry and won. Not only is Rabbit Mask the only issue, but also Hiki as he escaped from his cell in order to feast on the rampaging beast and going out of control. His brother Gaishi tries to stop him but the two start a fight.
Also, it’s a bit weird to see Kazutomi Yamamoto not voicing a teenaged boy or a shota. Regardless, I do think the voice fits Rabbit Mask in the sense that it makes him sound like a lunatic, which he is.
Though, I do wonder what will happen since Ichiyo is in the battlefield, but his servants aren’t with him. How will he stop the rampaging brothers and the monster? What do you think is going to happen?
