❛     pity.      ❜      gaze is cast downward , watching as the poor man reaches for help in his FINAL moments. & head tilts , taking a step back as the BLOODY hand of their newest victim almost reaches his freshly polished shoes. he always ENJOYED his visits to the cortez , the countess always made sure his stay was worth the while ----- her hospitality was unrivaled. & a match is struck by the rogue hand on his shoulder , lighting the CIGAR that’s just been placed between parted lips. after a moment, a hand lifts, taking a drag from before exhaling as he turns towards the woman beside.    ❛      he did put up a GOOD fight. perhaps we should let him linger a little while longer? enjoy the THRILL of teetering on the edge --------- such a BLISSFUL agony he must be experiencing.     ❜

&    there  he’s alleviated.   lungs suffocated from the tight clasp of minor stage-fright finally draw in air as its hold loosens and he can breathe again.  hidden,  away from the astute eyes of visitors that sparkle at the sight of carny folk.   but he hasn’t stripped himself of all of them as new eyes take him aback,   bewilderment knocking the calmness off his face.       ‘   customers ain’t s’posed t’ be back here, miss.  show’s still goin’ on on-stage    -----     ‘

         Her strong hand grips onto his arm,   KEEPING him dangling between standing and laying sprawled on wood flooring.   Gaze is blurred and without her grip on him   he would have LOST conscious once more.   His free arm lifts and rubs at his eye.   Lips part with an intake of BREATH that leaves a clarity as He looked up at her painted figure with blood? –- is she naked covered in blood ? IS THIS HIS BLOOD ? sure his head hurt and his side is bleeding but no way all this blood is his!

     “ garlic? ” the NAIVETY of one newly turned was astounding. tristan can’t help his curiosity -- the crimson vitality pumping through his veins makes him feel POWERFUL, like he can do anything. she is his only TEACHER to guide him through the limits of his potential.  “ ... can i turn into a BAT? ”
