Motivate Me!

Inspired by @errantnight's post

Desperately trying not to doomspiral on Bluesky and Reddit, so I'm forcing myself to be productive by writing. You can request the WIP(s) you want me to work on in replies and reblogs; I'm lifting my restriction on "must work on current projects" for the sake of just getting something done, so any of my WIPs are free range.

Jin Zixuan is engulfed by a sea of yellow and gold robes, Jin Xian included, as they all pile on him to offer hugs, cheers, and congratulations. His legs buckle under their weight but his protests are drowned out by their enthusiasm.  “Get off me! It’s only third place!” “Third place behind Lan Xichen and ahead of Lan Wangji! That’s nothing to sneeze at!” Jin Xian shouts from somewhere underneath Jin Bohai’s elbow. “We should celebrate!”  Jin Guangshan is of the same opinion, as he is smiling bright enough to put the Wen sun to shame. “My boy, my boy! You can have anything you want; I’ll buy. Clothing, jewelry, alcohol, men, women—” “I want a fancy dinner somewhere in Nightless City. I’ll pick,” Jin Zixuan says quickly.  Jin Guangshan gives him a hefty coin purse and after the disciples wash and change, they swing by to pick up Jin Zixun and head out to Nightless City. Jin Guangshan remains behind, likely to kiss the hem of Wen Ruohan’s robe and apologize for the insolence of his son.

I decided to use the last line I wrote for chapter 11 of I Can Smile at the Old Days, my MDZS/TGCF fusion:

“What the hell are you—” “The Cloud Recesses have been burned by the Wens!” Jin Zixun blurts out, his face bright red and his chest heaving for breath. His shout frightens the birds from the trees, and a somber, stunned silence falls over the garden.

We're finally approaching the Sunshot Campaign and I'm so excited! I can't wait to unleash complete and absolute chaos on my boys. (Also excited to finally bring in Hua Cheng after five years. Oof. I'll never get over the fact that I let ICSATOD and Dear Heart sit abandoned for so long.)

I think I'm going to take a break from Godhunt for a while. We're roughly at the halfway point, and I'm feeling some burnout. In the meantime, I'll focus on ICSATOD/Dear Heart, the Dance of the Hours series, and The Siren and her Godking.

I also might have some spice to post on Ream for those interested?
