Luke’s head was in his hands, his eyes full of tears. After all, he was forced to drop his young daughter Rey on a far off desert planet in order to protect her. She had only been gone from his life for a few days yet it was killing him to be away from her. Guilt had been slowly eating away at him one of the large holes in his heart was caused by the fact that Rey’s mother was no longer around. She had been killed trying to protect Rey from The First Order and Luke had no other option to protect his own daughter than to send her away. The First Order was gaining in strength and because Rey was so young, Luke knew they would’ve gone after her. He had to keep her safe, even if it meant distancing himself from her completely, even going so far as to wipe her memories using the Force.
“Mother, Father, someone… I need your guidance….” He whimpered to no one yet hoping it would be heard through the Force, his head falling to his knees again.

There was no turning back. This was a mistake that could never be undone; the slaughter of innocents, the annihilation of the Jedi Temple, the look of fear and hatred he swore he had seen in his master’s eyes because of what he was. Even though Ben wasn’t truly alone, having taken some of the other students with him, there was still a hungry emptiness that ate away at everything he was (or what was left of him). Would his fellow apprentices survive his fury’s eventual return? Would he turn on them too? A voice from within told him yes. And the Knights of Ren who had crossed the stars to meet them would help once the time came, even if they only showed him a vague semblance of respect due to the Supreme Leader’s orders. Rarely did Ben have a moment to himself, but now, as everyone slept in their current hideout, he left to the almost solid shade of the forest nearby. As soon as he stepped into the darkness, recent memories took over—the screams, the fire, the raw destruction, waking to see the one he trusted ready to strike him down where he slept. Waves of nausea hit, shivers overtaking his frame and tears falling freely. His breath burned his chest, hyperventilating as everything felt as real as the night it had happened. Almost stumbling back, he sat on a massive fallen tree, crossing his legs and trying his damnedest to calm down, to focus, to breath. It was all the same in his mind, with only Snoke’s words reaching him through the void of darkness. Yet with each breath he took to steady himself, the thoughts began to separate like light breaking through clouds. But there was something else there... A woman’s voice pierced through, steady and alone amidst the now fading carnage. A murmur at first, but every inhale seemed to make her louder, stronger. And suddenly there came a crushing silence as if he’d been enveloped by freezing ocean water, ice forming in his veins. And then he heard her again, clear as day. Slowly Ben opened his eyes, staring straight ahead at the glowing figure in the dark woods. She looked so much like his mother, he could’ve sworn he felt the same warm and determined aura he missed. Something inside of him knew who she was, felt something familiar stir as his gaze met hers... ❝ Who are you? ❞

He knew that it was against the rules. He knew that the Jedi were forbidden to have any sort of romantic relationship. It didn’t stop him from wanting to pursue it though. Obi-Wan and the other masters never had to find out, and he liked it that way.
